A group of Oklahoma teens have been praised as heroes after they reportedly broke into the burning home of a 90-year-old neighbor and saved her from the flames. Catherine Ritchie, 90, was at home last month in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, when the blaze started, she told KTUL-TV in Tulsa. "I was getting ready for bed in the bathroom, and I turned around, and my bed, the head of my bed, was covered in flames," she said. Pacific Gas & Electric implemented a controversial practice of cutting power to selected portions of Northern California on Saturday to guard against wildfires as the weather turned very windy, dry and hot. Electricity was turned off around 6 a.m. to 1,600 customers in parts Napa, Solano and Yolo counties. Just as that shutdown was called off, the utility warned 27,000 customers in Butte, Yuba, Nevada, El Dorado and Placer counties that their power would be cut from 9 p.m. through Sunday morning. It's the end of an era. The Four Seasons restaurant, where the New York City power lunch was born, is closing.The famed restaurant is closing less than a year after it reopened in a new location. The New York Times reports that the midtown Manhattan restaurant known as the original power lunch destination will close Tuesday.The Four Seasons lost its home in the Seagram Building when developer Aby Rosen took over the landmark skyscraper in 2016. It reopened in August 2018 in a new location three blocks away.

On Friday, the Army Times broke the news that the Silver Star Staff Sgt. David Bellavia received for his heroic actions in Fallujah, Iraq, in 2004 is being upgraded to a Congressional Medal of Honor. The report, quickly picked up by several media outlets, was a bit of a departure from protocol, as the White House would normally be first to make such an announcement with a statement. Imagine being arrested and losing your home after two repeat burglars break into your house again and rush toward you with the possible intention of murdering you. This exact scenario played out in New York late last month thanks to the far-left state’s draconian gun control laws. A 64-year-old Deerfield homeowner was charged with illegal firearm possession and arrested after he used a gun he’d inherited from his deceased father to kill two repeat burglars. Then upon his release from a jail a couple of days later, he found himself homeless because his house had been condemned.

Sacramento, Calif. — California will become the first state in the country to pay for some adults living in the country illegally to have full health benefits as the solidly liberal state continues to distance itself from President Trump’s administration. Democrats in the state Legislature reached an agreement Sunday afternoon as part of a broader plan to spend $213 billion of state and federal tax money over the next year.
