Morning Joe: Trump Administration
Most Corrupt Since Harding

On Monday, Politico ran a story alleging that Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao had steered DOT grants to Kentucky to benefit her husband, Kentucky Senator and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Her office fired back, saying that the projects went through the normal protocol and that they were “selectively isolated to misrepresent the work DOT does across the country.” For MSNBC, this was apparently the biggest scandal since Teapot Dome. On a Tuesday segment of Morning Joe, Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson made the wildly a historical and factually inaccurate claims that the Trump administration is the most corrupt since that of President Harding and that the Obama administration was “the cleanest

More fake news! Remember when Obama had his so-called stimulus package of about $800 million for “shovel ready” jobs? In turns out that there was no such animal as “shovel ready” jobs and a lot of that money instead went to liberal non-governmental organizations allied to the liberal Democrats.

Melania Trump spoke to the press in the Oval Office on Wednesday - an unusual move from the first lady, who rarely speaks off the cuff. Her comments came when she welcomed Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda to the White House. 'It is great to have them here again. I'm looking forward to talking with Mrs. Duda about children, what they are facing in our country, what they are facing in Poland as we did the first time. Donald Trump said Wednesday that he favors a plan to ask United States residents if they are U.S. citizens when the once-a-decade census surveys people next year. 'I think it's totally ridiculous that we would have a census without asking,' he told reporters in the Oval Office. The president asserted executive privilege over census-related documents earlier in the day, blocking House Democrats from learning what led Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and Attorney General William Barr to restore the question which was part of the census until 1950. Democrats have threatened both Barr and Ross with criminal contempt of Congress citations for refusing to hand over the documents.

President Trump is now worth more than $3 billion, according to a new report. “The increase in Trump’s wealth reverses two years of decline and brings his net worth back to 2016 levels,” Bloomberg reported Tuesday. The spike in the president's net worth represents a 5% increase from last year and comes largely because of an increase in value to one of his company’s largest office building deals. Since assuming the presidency, Trump has relinquished official control of his real estate and casino empire to his adult children. Democrats have repeatedly cited Trump’s close ties to big business as a conflict of interest. Most recently, ethics groups complained

The debtors are so numerous and the total debt so high — more than $1.447 trillion, according to federal statistics — that several of the Democratic candidates have made major policy proposals to address the crisis. AOC scoffed that a 2.5% bump in pay was “not even like a raise.” Before that, she grumbled that her income was merely a “living wage.” She also complained in a tweet that if lawmakers don’t get a raise, it “makes campaign finance reform *harder.* ” And it “increases pressure on them to keep dark money loopholes open.” It makes one wonder if AOC understands

California wants to look after its people, so it keeps expanding its social safety net. It also wants to welcome all comers and so embraces illegal immigrants and protects them in sanctuary cities. To see how this is working out, visit Skid Row in L.A. or neighborhoods in San Francisco or elsewhere where homeless camps are spreading. Caring for all Californians is made harder by the state importing as many non-Americans as possible. It's almost incredible, but also entirely characteristic, that California lawmakers have now decided to give healthcare free to nearly 100,000 illegal immigrants aged 19 to 25.
