I lived in Puerto Rico for two years and visited the US and British Virgin Islands. I mean, I'm in PR, so why bother with another island, but anyway... I won't go visit Mexico and why on earth would any American want to visit the DR when you have just as nice resorts in the US? Many of these resorts like some in even the US Virgin Islands, you leave it and you take your own life in your own hands. You want palm trees, etc - go and visit Naples, FL - very safe.

This is the kind of thing that John Stossel should be looking into-is there some under the table deal that the gvts of these tourist-dependent countries have with various reps in our State Dept. to keep this quiet? Just how many American tourists end up dead or robbed & beaten, raped, etc. in the Carribean and Central America? Natalie Holloway's ghost needs to rest in peace.

Vacationing in the DR? Next thing you know people will want to go hiking in the mountains between Iraq and Iran or something.

If DR is on your bucket list, better make it last on the list, right after skydiving and going over Niagara Falls in a barrel.

My theory: 1. Disgruntled hotel employee; hates Americans. 2. Poisoning is ricin. Hard to detect. Similar symptoms. Easy to make with castor plants, which grow there. 3. Female, since females are poisoners 4. She will be caught and turned into a liberal feminist icon, since she will play the victim card of hating white men, for some B.S. reason. Taking bets.

Don’t drink the water. My bet is there could be a serial poisoner out there. Pesticides sound sketchy but you never know. The FBI should be sending a team out there taking crime scene samples of everything on the property.

Fox sent a team to one of the hotels. The minibar was stocked with opened fifths of liquor - not the sealed miniatures we're used to.

A lady posted on my FB page that she, her husband and another couple were vacationing on DR. She went out alone in the evening for snacks, someone beat her senseless and left her in a dirty water filled hole. She didn't see the attacker but saw he was wearing one of the resort's shirts. It was 10 hours before she was found. No help from the resort or DR on anything.

Elizabeth Warren leaped ahead of Bernie Sanders into second place in a pair of Democratic presidential primary polls released Wednesday. Warren has overtaken Sanders nationally, according to a new Economist/YouGov poll, which puts the Massachusetts senator ahead of her Vermont counterpart 16 percent to 12 percent. Former Vice President Joe Biden still leads all contenders with 26 percent support. Warren also polls ahead of Sanders in Nevada, where Democrats will caucus next February after the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary. Biden leads the first Monmouth poll of likely Democratic caucusgoers in Nevada with 36 percent support, followed by

WASHINGTON – As some Democratic presidential candidates are pushing back on blistering criticism from President Donald Trump that their party has become "socialist," Sen. Bernie Sanders on Wednesday doubled down on his embrace of the label. Touting his "democratic socialism" approach to politics as the best way to address income inequality, the U.S. senator from Vermont sought to rebrand the controversial term during a high-profile address – even as some within his party worry that a leftward lurch could hurt Democrats in states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin next year. "Over 80 years ago, Franklin Delano Roosevelt helped create a government that

DAVENPORT, Iowa — During a campaign swing through Iowa this week, Joe Biden mentioned that his family recently dined with former President Barack Obama's family. At a Houston fundraiser, Biden joked about the infamous expletive he deployed in congratulating Obama's health care victory. And Biden recently tweeted an image of Joe and Barack friendship bracelets. The message is clear: Biden really wants you to know he's still friends with Obama. He's betting that by dangling nostalgia for the Obama years before Democrats, he can help rebuild the diverse national coalition that twice propelled Obama to victory. Obama hasn't backed any of

EL PASO, Texas – The photos showed migrant families fenced in under an international bridge, huddled against the cold, their children shawled in Mylar blankets. The images, which captured national attention in March, sparked criticism about the treatment of those seeking refuge and asylum in the country. Federal officials issued statements saying they would transfer the families to a "location with more space and shelter capability." Three months later, a makeshift detention camp still occupies a parking lot at the foot of the northbound Paso del Norte international bridge in downtown El Paso. MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota campaign finance officials said last week that U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar misused campaign funds in violation of state rules. They also revealed that she had filed joint tax returns with her husband years before they were legally married and at a time when she was married to another man. The revelation put the freshman representative under more scrutiny from critics who have taken issue with her marital past. One tax expert said that if there is no criminal intent and the issue has been corrected, she's unlikely to face any criminal consequences. Some questions and answers about the

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg knows firsthand the burden of six-figure student loan debt. He and his husband, Chasten, are far from alone, though, and their personal college indebtedness is helping to keep the issue on the national stage. With loans totaling more than $130,000, they are among the 43 million people in the United States who owe federal student loan debt. The debtors are so numerous and the total debt so high — more than $1.447 trillion, according to federal statistics — that several of the Democratic candidates have made major policy proposals to address the crisis.
