Cartoons After Antisemitism Scandals

The international edition of the New York Times will no longer feature editorial cartoons. The move to self-censorship follows the uproar sparked by publication of a widely denounced antisemitic caricature of Israeli Prime Minister Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The cartoon, published in April, depicted Netanyahu as a dog wearing a Star of David collar and leading a sightless U.S. President Donald Trump — who was wearing a Jewish skullcap. The offensive piece was drawn by Portuguese artist António Moreira Antunesas and published during the Passover holiday. The cartoon prompted an uproar within the Jewish community and sparked protests outside the Times’ office in New York City, with Israel’s ambassador to the U.N.

Its not just antisemitism that is the issue. What is at stake is the classic liberal culture of tolerance. It is this culture that permitted cartoons which conveyed and/or suggested things that could not be expressed in writing or speech with a straight face. The intolerance and viciousness of the Left has come to the point where the opposition using the same tactics has become unacceptable to them. The NYT is basically handing in the towel.

So, rather than correct their racist behavior, they choose to drop the ban hammer completely. They really do not know how to deal with reality do they. Very very telling on the part of this useless irrelevant rag.

What do they do when they are caught for the Jew hating bas**rds they are? They hide the proof of it. Only Nazis would do this. You can be sure, they will spout their filth in toehr ways. They do not change. They just find other ways to do their dirt.

A few related things are happening here: 1. Liberal cartoons are incapable of being funny without being mean. 2. Conservatives are winning the meme wars because it is easy to mock liberals. So much so that Facebook, Google, etc., ban memes -- just like Putin. Political cartoons are very effective when intellectually sound. Go look up "Dr. Suess Goes to War" -- his political cartoons on Nazi Germany and the Nazis's allies at the time -- like the NYT. The NYT called for him to be banned, too. Liberals don't have the option of good cartoons because, well, their ideas are not inherently sound.

Given the FBI’s repeated intransigence over the years in responding to our FOIA requests, I’m not of a mind to assume this story represents simply an innocent mistake. The FBI has released 277 pages of redacted records that show the FBI failed to produce information from an August 2015 meeting with Intelligence Community Inspector General about Hillary Clinton’s email server. The FBI claimed that notes are “missing” and the CD containing notes from meeting is likely “damaged” irreparably.he records, which were posted on the FBI’s website, are the 32nd release of documents in response to our 2016 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, Judicial Watch

Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed Wednesday that there were no scandals or lies in the Obama-Biden administration. “Know what I was most proud of?” he asked voters in Iowa. “For eight years, there wasn’t one single hint of a scandal or a lie.” Video of his remark was captured by The Hill. Former President Barack Obama won the “Lie of the Year” by the left-wing fact-checker PolitiFact in 2013 for saying that Americans could keep their health care plan if they liked it despite Obamacare. Biden also failed to mention the failure to protect Americans at the consulate in Benghazi, Attorney General Eric Holder’s role in covering up the

Booker made the comments at a campaign event in Iowa, where he first complained of the cost of border security: “Do you know how much billions of dollars we’ve done to increase the numbers of Customs and Border Patrol agents, of people involved in immigration?”

A newly released Quinnipiac University Poll shows that that favorable feelings about the economy aren't helping President Donald Trump's approval ratings — even though the state of the economy is one of his favorite talking points. It also shows that Joe Biden has the highest favorability ratings among the Democratic field. According to the poll, 71% of the voters say that the economy is "good" or "excellent," the highest proportion of favorable feelings on the economy in nearly 18 years of Quinnipiac's polling. Last month's economic data showed that unemployment in the United States had fallen to 3.6%, a 50-year low. That said, 45% of voters disapproved

Acosta lamented he has “missed some opportunities” to challenge President Donald Trump labeling the media “the enemy of the people.” “You know, I wish at times that the press had been a bit more in solidarity with one another in standing up to this White House and saying, ‘Listen, ‘You know, the president can’t call us the enemy of the people. We’re not going to go along with that.’ Acosta told host Brian Stelter. “I think we’ve missed some opportunities here and there to challenge that.”

The Supreme Court decided an Indiana abortion case last month with an unsigned, three-page compromise opinion that had something for both conservative and liberal justices to like. They quarreled anyway. It's been that way a lot this term. "Justice (Ruth Bader) Ginsburg's dissent ... makes little sense," Associate Justice Clarence Thomas wrote in a footnote to a 20-page concurrence. He said the state's regulation of fetal remains disposal, which the court upheld, does not burden the "mother's right to abort that (already aborted) child." "Justice Thomas's footnote displays more heat than light," Ginsburg responded, adding pointedly that "a woman who exercises her constitutionally protected right to terminate a pregnancy is not a 'mother.'"

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg knows firsthand the burden of six-figure student loan debt. He and his husband, Chasten, are far from alone, though, and their personal college indebtedness is helping to keep the issue on the national stage. Freshmen Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants Congress to give itself a $4,500 pay raise next year. That would boost her salary to $178,500. And that’s not counting the many perks members of Congress get, all courtesy of taxpayers. But even that isn’t enough for the self-described socialist. AOC scoffed that a 2.5% bump in pay was “not even like a raise.” Before that, she grumbled that her income was merely a “living wage.” She also complained in a tweet that if lawmakers don’t get a raise, it “makes campaign finance reform *harder.* ” And it “increases pressure on them to keep dark money loopholes open.” It makes one wonder if AOC understands

California wants to look after its people, so it keeps expanding its social safety net. It also wants to welcome all comers and so embraces illegal immigrants and protects them in sanctuary cities. To see how this is working out, visit Skid Row in L.A. or neighborhoods in San Francisco or elsewhere where homeless camps are spreading. Caring for all Californians is made harder by the state importing as many non-Americans as possible. It's almost incredible, but also entirely characteristic, that California lawmakers have now decided to give healthcare free to nearly 100,000 illegal immigrants aged 19 to 25.
