New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani publicly stated he would have the last word on all New York Police Department (NYPD) decisions — not Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch. He made the comments during an interview with The New York Times at City Hall. (Snip) The SRG issue is not the only point of contention between Mamdani and Tisch. Mamdani also supports abolishing the NYPD’s gang database, a system with more than 16,000 entries, Politico reported. The database has faced criticism for unfairly targeting racial minorities. "I've made my critiques of the database clear, and the NYPD has also implemented a

Of course he will.
And the Police Commissioner will be lucky if he isn't ritually beheaded if he displeases Ayatollah Mamdani too often.

If I’m Commissioner Tisch, I’m sending over my (already-written. Just holding-in-my-drawer) resignation.
And for the rank and file cop, I’m on my way out as soon as I get another gig to provide for my family.
This commie muzzie can take his bearded smirk and stuff it.

This won't end well. Sure. The chief executive always has the last word. BUT..... you put people in charge of those departments because they have the expertise that you don't. Unless your a Democrat and you appoint friends, family, campaign contributors and others that check a DEI box.
Sure...... you can override your heart surgeon.......but should you??

I'm sure the gang database *fairly* targets racial minorities, since blacks and browns make up most of the gangs. But those are Mamdani's supporters.

I'm wondering if Mamdani will last through his term. I never thought San Francisco would boot Chesa Boudin after two years, but they did. So, it is conceivable that NYC might boot Mamdani if things get bad enough. time will tell.

I do not believe this boy mayor will serve out his full term.
Yes, Jessica Tisch probably did understand what she was in for when she signed on but if she resigns (what the boy mayor MAY be wanting with his "decree") the next PC could very possibly be muslim. That would be positively disastrous for the city. However, it could be the catalyst that ultimately removes the boy mayor from office. NYC's immediate future is becoming bleaker and bleaker by the day.....something has got to give soon.

If I were in her shoes, I would go to the Mayor and ask him who is in charge of the police.
If he says that I am, I ask him to put that it in writing.
If her says that he is, I tell him that he does not need me, so AMF.

Per no 18. Indeed. When I visited many years ago NYC was a vibrant exciting city with great attractions. I will never go back. I am only one person and the boy Muslim/commie won’t care but I feel like there are many others thinking the same. A couple of weeks ago someone was shoved in front of a subway train. There is another train heading for NYC and it will be worse. The tourists will disappear and those with the means to leave are packing now.

If I were the Police Commissioner, now would be a fine time to resign in protest, encourage the entire police force to join them, and put out an add warning all job seekers in Law Enforcement avoid NYC.

Alienating the Police Commissioner is always a good move, especially if she's a black woman. They should be ashamed of themselves for unfairly targeting blacks when referring to gangs, somebody's feelings are going to be hurt and they could act out. Oh, and we're really sorry that the free bus thing didn't work out. Unfortunately, the Communist Manifesto does not come with any guarantees. Is there any promise that this muzzi boy has kept since they put him into office, other than fundamentally changing New York City into more of a dump than it already is?

It used to be a badge of honor to be part of the NYC police force. Now it’s a drudge job and pretty pointless. The only crimes the prosecutors find intolerable are those committed by Christians or conservatives. The rest mainly get put back on the street. Mamdani’s true wish is for his muslim brethren to take over law enforcement and follow their own laws. The Democrats would support it.

That's it, get rid of the gang data base because it goes after racial minorities. Another DEI disaster. Fact of the matter is NYC has been turned over to the criminal empire run by democrats. Look at every democratic run city in our country and connect the dotes. They are all run by the same people, they are all filled with crime, filth, illiterates, unsafe streets, the homeless, zero education for your children and illegal aliens. The people living in democratic run cities are being held hostage by their elected officials while violent thugs roam the streets looking for prey. When are people going to wake up.

I don't know, 30+ years ago I had reason to go there several times ( business & pleasure )
and I never found it to be 'vibrant' ! More like, crowded, horribly expensive, dangerous,
dirty, and noisy. Where's the 'good' part ? Guess I never 'found' the 'good exiting' parts.
Oh well. Not ever going back. I've seen all I care to.
By the way, has anyone ever tried telling the commie-mommy about Jimmy Hoffa
and where he ended up ? All through history and around the world there have been very
driven people who thought they knew everything and could never be 'stopped'.

The morons who created a path for this creature and the absolute fools who voted for him don't have a clue that NYC is fast becoming the next Detroit. Detroit used to be a major, rich, city and over the course of 10 years lost it all, same as Rochester, NY. NYC will be worse. Imagine the Ford years and the 1970s decay times 100. There will be NO major businesses staying under this nonsense and the punishing taxes and lifestyle. NOTHING. Anyone left there who had the means to escape will kick themselves next year. The ones who have to stay will be trying to endure things they won't believe.
