New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani publicly stated he would have the last word on all New York Police Department (NYPD) decisions — not Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch. He made the comments during an interview with The New York Times at City Hall. (Snip) The SRG issue is not the only point of contention between Mamdani and Tisch. Comments:

Zohran basically opposes all tools that are useful in apprehending criminals. How long before the Police Commisoner is ousted?

This won't end well. Sure. The chief executive always has the last word. BUT..... you put people in charge of those departments because they have the expertise that you don't. Unless your a Democrat and you appoint friends, family, campaign contributors and others that check a DEI box. Sure...... you can override your heart surgeon.......but should you??

I'm sure the gang database *fairly* targets racial minorities, since blacks and browns make up most of the gangs. But those are Mamdani's supporters.

I do not believe this boy mayor will serve out his full term. Yes, Jessica Tisch probably did understand what she was in for when she signed on but if she resigns (what the boy mayor MAY be wanting with his "decree") the next PC could very possibly be muslim. That would be positively disastrous for the city. However, it could be the catalyst that ultimately removes the boy mayor from office. NYC's immediate future is becoming bleaker and bleaker by the day.....something has got to give soon.

I am only one person and the boy Muslim/commie won’t care but I feel like there are many others thinking the same. A couple of weeks ago someone was shoved in front of a subway train. Alienating the Police Commissioner is always a good move, especially if she's a black woman. They should be ashamed of themselves for unfairly targeting blacks when referring to gangs, somebody's feelings are going to be hurt and they could act out. Oh, and we're really sorry that the free bus thing didn't work out. Unfortunately, the Communist Manifesto does not come with any guarantees. It used to be a badge of honor to be part of the NYC police force. Now it’s a drudge job and pretty pointless. The only crimes the prosecutors find intolerable are those committed by Christians or conservatives. The rest mainly get put back on the street. Mamdani’s true wish is for his muslim brethren to take over law enforcement and follow their own laws. The Democrats would support it.

Look at every democratic run city in our country and connect the dotes. They are all run by the same people, they are all filled with crime, filth, illiterates, unsafe streets, the homeless, zero education for your children and illegal aliens. The people living in democratic run cities are being held hostage by their elected officials while violent thugs roam the streets looking for prey. When are people going to wake up.

A federal appeals court said Saturday that President Donald Trump can move ahead for another week with construction of a massive new White House ballroom while judges consider the project. The 2-1 order from the DC Circuit Court of Appeals is a temporary win for Trump in a protracted legal fight over whether he has the authority to build the ballroom on the site of the former East Wing without express approval from Congress. The appeals court said work on the project can continue until at least April 17.

Embattled Rep. Eric Swalwell on Friday night issued a full-throated denial of sexual misconduct and rape allegations leveled against him, calling them “absolutely false” while issuing an apology to his wife. “These allegations of sexual assault are flat false,” the Democratic candidate for California governor said in a more than minute-long video on social media. “They are absolutely false. They did not happen. They have never happened. And I will fight them with everything I have.” Swalwell was forced to swat down scathing allegations of sexual misconduct brought by four women this week — including a former staffer who claims he raped her in 2024.

Numerous news sources around the world, including The Associated Press, reported that according to local military and officials, at least 26 people were killed in three separate Easter attacks in northern Nigeria. This has caused multiple prominent commentators to not only criticize the terrorism rife in the region, but the silence of the international community that they argue is politically-motivated. "It looks rather as though Black Lives Don't Matter," Cleese lamented

Planned Parenthood received $832 million in taxpayer funding in 2024-2025, an increase of $39.8 million from its previous report. A record number of abortions also were performed by the organization. President of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America Marjorie Dannenfelser told The Center Square that "taxpayer dollars should never be used to fund Planned Parenthood, a business that profits off of killing hundreds of thousands of unborn children every single year.” “Planned Parenthood is an abortion business, not a health care provider, and they have no business using our tax dollars to prop up their operations,” Dannenfelser said.
