A judge dismissed charges against a woman whom police in St. Paul, Minnesota, say officers arrested for "disrupting" Easter Sunday services at Cities Church, the site where an anti-immigration enforcement protest in January led to federal prosecutors charging dozens of demonstrators and some journalists. Police say several officers were "working contracted overtime" Sunday morning at the church, located off Summit Avenue and South Saratoga Street, where "a group of protesters" was "using a blow-horn and yelling loudly." Around 8:35 a.m., police say all but one protester complied with officers' "numerous announcements" to stop disrupting the service under threat of

Comments:

They have been harassing parishioners at this church for months. MN government refuses to enforce laws against the rabid leftists. So-called Progressive Christians are silent.

The state of MN is done. No chance of them changing unless the few remaining conservatives wake up which is doubtful.

It would be fun to ask a bunch of motorcycle enthusiasts to have a “bike rally” every Sunday at the church. The shrews of the left wouldn’t dare confront them.

Isn't there a federal law that would stop these evil Leftist demon protesters with bull horns harassing church members? The First Amendment should cover this.

The cops should have arrested her for failing to comply with an officer. If she did not enter the church, she should not have been arrested for disrupting the services. That being said, the church should complain to the Feds and encourage them to prosecute the mob for preventing religious freedom.

Detainees at Rikers Island with complicated medical needs will be transferred to a Manhattan hospital to get access to specialty care, Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced Tuesday. A new therapeutic housing unit is opening to facilitate the mayor's plan for closing the troubled jail complex. It will serve 104 people in custody. The first one will be at Bellevue Hospital in Kips Bay and have direct access to specialty services, including oncology, cardiology and neurology. "Rather than wait critical hours and travel off site to get the treatment they need, specialty services will be just an elevator ride away," Mamdani said.

One of the past decade’s most polarizing figures in American sports will publish a book, nearly 10 years to the day after the moment that dramatically changed, and prematurely ended, his NFL career. Colin Kaepernick has announced plans to publish The Perilous Fight on September 15, 2026, two weeks after the 10-year anniversary of the moment he was first spotted sitting during the national anthem before a preseason game. He’d been sitting during the anthem throughout the 2016 preseason. For the September 1 game, he was in uniform for the first time, making the gesture conspicuous and noticeable. What followed

It’s been exactly 66 years since Ben-Hur made movie history. On this day in 1960, the epic historical drama took home a record 11 awards at the Academy Awards, becoming the first film in history to do so at the time. Directed by William Wyler and starring Charlton Heston, Ben-Hur (1959) is a renowned Easter classic, airing each year during Christian Holy Week each year—but in addition to it’s religious significance, the film is also regarded as masterful piece of cinema. After its release in November 1959, Ben-Hur amassed a whopping 12 Oscar nominations, 11 of which it would end

The City Council wants to expand the Fair Fares program so more than 1 million eligible New Yorkers would be able to ride Big Apple subways and buses all on the government’s dime. The city-funded program reimburses the MTA for 50% of the fare — a cost those earning up to 150% of the federal poverty level aren’t required to pay out of pocket — which the council has proposed covering entirely in its city budget response. The council’s response does not detail how much it would need to fully cover those fares, but advocates at the Permanent Citizens Advisory

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson drew fire from an unlikely colleague on Tuesday over her lone dissent in the Supreme Court’s 8-1 decision finding Colorado’s ban on so-called "conversion therapy" for minors violated free speech rights. Fellow liberal Justice Elena Kagan criticized Jackson for failing to acknowledge case law that governs when speech can be regulated in the medical field, marking a rare public break between two justices typically aligned in cases centered on high-profile cultural issues. "Justice Jackson’s dissenting opinion claims that this is a small, or even nonexistent, category," Kagan wrote in a footnote of a concurring opinion, which

I can see why people got excited about it in the 1960s, back when the world was young and we still thought there might be little green people out there – who wouldn’t want to meet them? Most serious opinion, however, has now settled on the “Where is everybody?” paradox first framed by the physicist Enrico Fermi in 1950.
