Snarky repeats of the same timeline by California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) troll account weren’t enough to buck the blame over a fatal Florida crash.
Tragedy in the Sunshine State left three people dead and an illegal alien facing vehicular homicide charges following an attempted unlawful U-turn on the Florida Turnpike. As the once-Golden State was faulted for issuing the commercial driver’s license, attempts by the Governor Newsom Press Office account to steer clear of accountability were met with fact checks from the Department of Homeland Security.
A particularly scathing rebuke was delivered by DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin

A Michigan city council member was caught on camera stuffing an election drop box with apparent absentee ballots just days before he won his re-election bid in a local primary.
Hamtramck City Council member Abu Musa was seen in the passenger seat of a car on Aug. 1 handing stacks of paper to the car’s driver, who then dumped them into a nearby ballot box, footage obtained by Local 4 appears to show.
Musa held on to his re-election spot in the primary four days later on Aug. 5, beating out 11 other candidates with 1,129 votes.

Sunday on MSNBC’s “The Weekend,” Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee said President Donald Trump is attempting to “dismantle our democracy” with his federal takeover of Washington, D.C.
Lee said, “Let me just tell you that this president is fear mongering. He wants to militarize our cities to occupy them with outside federal force and that is very dangerous. This is part of his effort to dismantle our democracy. With regard to Oakland, you know we have our strategy also similar to Mayor Scott’s on focused deterrence, our crime rates going down.”
She added, “We have a significant reduction in crime. We’re going to keep at it.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday that the war between Russia and Ukraine would never have begun if President Donald Trump were president in 2022 instead of then-President Joe Biden.
Putin’s comments came during his joint press conference with Trump in Alaska following their three-hour-long closed-door meeting with top advisers about the war in Ukraine.
“I’d like to remind you that in 2022, during the last contact with the previous administration, I tried to convince my previous American colleague the situation should not be brought to the point of no return when it would come to hostilities,” Putin, speaking in Russian,

Friday on MSNBC’s “The Weeknight,” Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said that President Donald Trump was a “Kremlin kiss ass” during his Anchorage, Alaska summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Swalwell said, “If you’re a Republican in Congress, you just saw a Kremlin kiss ass in the president of the United States. Somebody who squandered an opportunity to confront a ruthless dictator who is killing innocent children and kidnapping innocent children every single day. I don’t know what this meeting accomplished other than taking the Epstein files and inflation out of the news, but you have meetings like this to achieve objectives.

His career is toast.
A DC man who hurled a Subway sandwich at a federal agent on the streets of the capital earlier this week has been identified as a now-former Justice Department trial attorney.
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Thursday that Sean Charles Dunn, 37, who is facing a felony assault charge for the sandwich strike, has been fired from his DOJ role.
“If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you,” Bondi declared. “I just learned that this defendant worked at the Department of Justice — NO LONGER. Not only is he FIRED, he has been charged with a felony.”

President Donald Trump has delegated federal agents to assist in fighting crime in D.C. as part of his move to help clean up the city.
They've been involved, showing themselves around D.C., and that's good policing — to discourage bad actors.
However, there was one man who was apparently upset with their presence in the city.
The man allegedly hurled a footlong sandwich into the chest of the CBP agent, then found out that was unwise, as he turned and fled, but then was immediately chased down by the agents.

Sometimes you can’t help but wonder: how do the progressive scolds who constantly shame everyone else for routine actions ever get out of bed in the morning with the burdens they carry? They worry they’re using too much water to brush their teeth, they can’t take a vacation because the emissions from the car or plane will cause the demise of us all, and the CO2 they emit with each breath spells disaster.
They constantly fret over the consumption of meat, the use of everyday household appliances that make our lives better, and any other progress that has brought our civilization into the 21st Century.

Last month, Charlie Wolf attended a meeting of the Greers Ferry, Ark., city council to complain about a license-plate camera that he said was violating the Fourth Amendment by regularly taking pictures of his driveway and front yard.
Greers Ferry Police Chief Kallen Lacy acknowledged Wolf’s “distress” but rejected his legal analysis, saying “over 5,000 cities” across the country use such cameras, “so there is no constitutional violation there.”[snip]
Unlike red-light cameras or speed cameras that are triggered by specific violations,” the Institute for Justice notes, ALPRs “photograph every vehicle that drives by and can use artificial intelligence to create a profile with identifying information

An unidentified man was shot and killed Monday, several blocks from protesters rallying against President Donald Trump and his decision to deploy the National Guard in Washington, D.C., in order to combat crime.
Trump’s announcement on Monday during a press briefing comes after a series of high-profile attacks in the city this year. The Metropolitan Police Department told the Daily Caller News Foundation that officers responded around 7:01 p.m. to the 1200 block of 12th Street NW, where they found an unconscious adult male with multiple gunshot wounds.
After lifesaving efforts by D.C. Fire and EMS, the man was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

A government agency has advised British business owners not to shame shoplifting suspects by posting pictures in their shops.
Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has issued advice warning that it “may not be appropriate” to post pictures of shoplifters, the Times of London reported.
According to the data watchdog, it would be “appropriate” for businesses to forward information to police or to share a suspect’s identity with managers of fellow shop owners.[snip]
The advice comes in the wake of police demanding that a vintage clothes shop owner in Wales take down a sign describing shoplifters as “scum” as it might be taken as “provocative and offensive”
