Thousands march on Minnesota State Capitol, call for cease-fire in Gaza A march to the Minnesota State Capitol led by the newly formed Free Palestine Coalition on Saturday was thousands strong. Protestors again called for a cease-fire and demanded that the U.S. stop sending funding to Israel amid an increasingly desperate situation for Palestinian people living in Gaza. “Different people come for different reasons,” shared coalition spokesperson Meredith Aby. “But we are united in a message, which is that we don’t want to have blood on our hands. We don’t want to be complicit.”

Marching on a state capitol supposedly in an attempt to affect foreign policy (a federal issue) makes about as much sense as the Iranian students who marched on a county courthouse in middle America back in the 1970s to protest against the Shah of Iran.

During that same three-year time period, the city hired 117 new officers, which equates to a net loss of 156 officers and an average net loss of 52 officers over the last three years. If that trend were to continue, MPD would have fewer than 400 sworn officers. As recent as 2019, MPD had about 900 sworn officers on its payroll.

In the aftermath of another disappointing election night for Republicans, questions need to be asked about supposedly non-partisan get-out-the-vote (GOTV) operations Democrats are using to ensure their low-propensity voters – and only their low-propensity voters – get to the polls. On March 7, 2021, Executive Order on Promoting Access to Voting, President Joe Biden instructed every federal agency to submit a plan to leverage their agency’s personnel and assets to help turn out the vote. For example, agencies might use internal data to identify aid recipients who are not registered to vote, then use agency personnel to get them registered and ensure their ballot is cast and counted.

They are largely mistaken, as abortion mercifully remains a highly contentious issue in America. Still, abortion advocates will continue to prevail until pro-life leaders and politicians learn the political lessons that have arisen
