Ever heard the phrase “Give someone an inch and they’ll take a mile”? Americans gave Joe Biden the Oval Office, and now he is taking away their cars , dishwashers, gas stoves, and, most recently, their water heaters. Biden’s Department of Energy on July 21 released new proposed energy-efficiency standards for water heaters. This is the latest round in the administration’s ongoing home-invasion campaign in the name of stopping climate change and saving the world, all while actively making life harder for everyday Americans. If finalized as currently written, beginning in 2029, this regulation would require new boiler installations to use

Comments:

You can't just swap-out a gas appliance for electric. New wiring has to be run from the service panel, and gas pipes would have to be sealed off (at great cost).

I may go and purchase a couple of new water heaters now and put them into storage. I have a 29 year old one at our vacation cabin, and an electric in our home which I have been wanting to replace with propane for some time, just waiting for it to crap out. Probably buy two new ones this week and put them in storage. Damn the evil EPA.

The reason for this isn't energy efficiency. It's to be able to cut off consumers from power at will. They're intent is to make serfs of us all.

Everyone commenting here gets it. The gist of the problem is getting millions of other Americans to realize that, Yes! Our betters want to enslave us. I've run into "That's a conspiracy theory", or "That's not gonna happen in my lifetime". The latter of those two is very selfish, but was said with complete apathy toward anyone else. Then again, that individual still thinks it is better, if not humorous, that bidet biden continues to skate on his corruption, and lack of faculties to hold the office he does. And since the enemedia says Trump is bad, well the support of bejing bidet is warranted. We've got a long, hard road convincing some.

...this regulation would require new boiler installations to use electric heat pumps, which pull heat from the surrounding air to bring water up to temperature, instead of heating the water internally. Don't fall for it, folks. Heat pumps are good only in moderate climates - when it's freezing outside there is no heat in the surrounding air. The compressor in your heat pump will be running non-stop throughout the winter months in the same manner that the compressor in your AC runs non-stop during the summer. Combine that with the False Prophet's vision of electricity costs going "sky high" and the consumer is about to get fleeced (again). Efficiency would be an in-line water heater - when you're not using hot water, which is about 99% of any given day, it's not using electricity or gas.

#1 no, this began in 2010 with the 0's and his EPA which is a bunch of unelected, overpaid bureaucrats justifying/protecting their "phony baloney jobs". They are climate zealots and will spend all of our money in a hoax which by IPCC acknowledgement will not keep the earth from warming, but , maybe not as much The German Green Party has been attempting to convert its HQ to heat pumps for 4 years, is $2million (equivalent) over budget and the project far from complete.

They REALLY want to outlaw selling Gasoline and NG but they can't. Hybrids work so you need gas stations and try to shut down NG. Good luck. Yeh I really want a heat pump in Texas. LMAO.

I just completed ordering a spare propane water heater from Home Depot. IIRC, I paid about $189 plus tax for the one that I installed in our mountain cabin. This spare is a "high altitude model" but the same small 30 gallon capacity, and the price was over $800 plus tax. So, quadruple the price in about 30 years. I'm actually pretty impressed that the heater has lasted this long, and aware that it could fail at any time. Typical warranty is only 6 years. I replace the anode after 10 years, and this extends the life a lot for not much money or time spent. $30 anode, if you can install it yourself, will add many years to the life of your water heater. Too bad this is almost "top secret" info.

Gas prices have quietly been on the rise over the summer as President Joe Biden and his administration have touted the merits of his “Bidenomics” agenda. U.S. oil prices jumped by nearly 4% last week, and the per-gallon price at the pump hit a national average of $3.75 Monday, the highest recorded average since November 2022, according to AAA and the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Continued increases may pose a new headache for Biden, who is promoting the “Bidenomics” agenda ahead of his 2024 run for reelection. A pair of recent reports on the state of homelessness in Los Angeles seemed to send mixed signals about how the effort to bring people in from the streets is going. The first came was an announcement from Mayor Karen Bass, who said last month that her administration has helped shelter 14,381 unhoused people, largely by focusing on the encampments that have become symbols of this dismaying problem. This represents a major step forward in addressing homelessness, given that Bass pledged to find housing – permanent or interim – for 17,000 people in her first year. So 14,000 in the

The Biden administration on Friday proposed tightening an efficiency standard for new residential water heaters — a move that it said would both save consumers money and combat climate change. The draft rule would require that, in order to become more efficient, most common-size electric water heaters use heat pump technology and gas-powered heaters use condensing technology. The proposal from the Energy Department would cut 501 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions over 30 years, the department said. That’s the equivalent of the emissions of 134 coal-fired power plants in one year. The department also said the standards would
