Chef on South Park died, too, because he joined a "freaky little club." Died really badly, too. High fall plus grizzly bear plus mountain lion plus skull cracking open. Parker and Stone really wanted to "off" Chef. Did Tafari cook something bad? If you're going to play in the water, first know how to swim. Many of our Moms taught us to swim in early childhood, well before age 6. Everyone should learn to swim. It's not difficult for 99% of the population. And it might save your life someday.

"Today we join everyone who knew and loved Tafari – especially his wife Sherise and their twin boys, Xavier and Savin – in grieving the loss of a truly wonderful man." Curiouser and more tragic. Mooch and 0 were out of town. The Mrs might best catch the first thing smok'n off that island. The former first family is looking too innocent, and they know exactly where to find 'good help.'

Well, they are running out of places for FOB or FOO to accidentally die. No more parks, no more walking home from pubs, the Russians have pretty much cornered the window falls, so going paddle boarding while not wearing a life vest or not knowing how to swim is a novel way.

A read of this article reveals this: Authorities initially responded at 7:46 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call about a male paddleboarder who had struggled to stay above the water and then went under near Turkeyland Cove. Officials said the man did not resurface. Another paddleboarder was on the pond with him at the time and witnessed him go under the water, according to authorities.

Re #6. I was reading the newspaper for content with my morning cereal at age 5, and never remember not being able to swim, or read. I have a clear memory of reading a short article in the paper one morning about a man who was fishing, fell out of the boat and drowned. I asked my mother, "Why did he drown?". She replied, "He probably didn't know how to swim." I was astounded. The concept that any ADULT wouldn't know how to do an apparently simple thing, and something that I had seemingly always known how to do was just mind boggling. Thinking now, I never actually asked my parents how I learned to swim, but I do know that at age 4 I was a very comfortable swimmer. I remember jumping from a floating swim platform in a lake during a vacation in Michigan and swimming under it to see the steel drums that floated it. Climb the ladder, and jump again. And I challenged another kid to swim all the way to shore (we had been taken out in a rowboat to the swim float) and we did it. In any case, it seems to me, even today, almost criminal not to teach kids to swim at a very early age.

An addendum to #6: I remember when my mother, who was a Red Cross Water Safety instructor and lifeguard in her earlier life, taught me to swim. (I was probably 4 or so.) We started at the ladder at the side of the church pool. Mom said, "Catch me," and took off in a slow backstroke, never getting more than about a foot ahead of me. With considerable ungainly effort I thrashed my way across the pool, and was furious when we reached the ladder at the pool's other side. Mom smiled and said, "Congratulations. You just learned how to swim. Let the water be your friend." From then on, I loved being in the water. Thanks, Mom.

The Biden administration on Friday proposed tightening an efficiency standard for new residential water heaters — a move that it said would both save consumers money and combat climate change. The draft rule would require that, in order to become more efficient, most common-size electric water heaters use heat pump technology and gas-powered heaters use condensing technology. The proposal from the Energy Department would cut 501 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions over 30 years, the department said. That’s the equivalent of the emissions of 134 coal-fired power plants in one year. The department also said the standards would
