A paddleboarder who drowned near former President Barack Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard estate has been identified as Tafari Campbell, the Obamas’ personal chef. Campbell, 45, of Dumfries, Virginia, was recovered Monday morning a day after disappearing in the waters of Edgartown Great Pond on Martha’s Vineyard. Massachusetts State Police said Campbell was employed by the former president and was visiting Martha’s Vineyard at the time of his passing. Barack and Michelle Obama were not present at the home at the time of the accident, MSP said. "Tafari was a beloved part of our family. When we first met him, he was

Chef on South Park died, too, because he joined a "freaky little club." Died really badly, too. High fall plus grizzly bear plus mountain lion plus skull cracking open. Parker and Stone really wanted to "off" Chef. Did Tafari cook something bad? If you're going to play in the water, first know how to swim. Many of our Moms taught us to swim in early childhood, well before age 6. Everyone should learn to swim. It's not difficult for 99% of the population. And it might save your life someday.

"Today we join everyone who knew and loved Tafari – especially his wife Sherise and their twin boys, Xavier and Savin – in grieving the loss of a truly wonderful man."
Curiouser and more tragic.
Mooch and 0 were out of town.
The Mrs might best catch the first thing smok'n off that island.
The former first family is looking too innocent, and they know exactly where to find 'good help.'

Hmm. Sorry the guy died.
But you've gotta wonder - have the Obamas patched things up with the Clintons?

I guess nobody bothered to ask Tafari if he knew how to swim. First world ego-centrism from the world's elite.

Well, they are running out of places for FOB or FOO to accidentally die. No more parks, no more walking home from pubs, the Russians have pretty much cornered the window falls, so going paddle boarding while not wearing a life vest or not knowing how to swim is a novel way.

A read of this article reveals this:
Authorities initially responded at 7:46 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call about a male paddleboarder who had struggled to stay above the water and then went under near Turkeyland Cove. Officials said the man did not resurface.
Another paddleboarder was on the pond with him at the time and witnessed him go under the water, according to authorities.

According to another article, he was " one of the chefs who created White House honey ale beer while Obama was president using honey from Michelle Obama’s well-known South Lawn garden." He was also one of four WH chefs working for Pres. Bush, who had been asked to stay on in the Obama WH.

This is the second presidential chef to have died by drowning. The first one died in 2015. Who knew that being a professional chef could be so hazardous to your health?

Just for fun, go the Daily Mail and read comments on this story. The first 75, yes 75, all say virtually the same thing. Comment after comment expressing sympathy over this man's death. Not one post questioning how true this is. This is virtually proof positive there was something up with the death. Seventy-five, go check it out.

Re #6. I was reading the newspaper for content with my morning cereal at age 5, and never remember not being able to swim, or read.
I have a clear memory of reading a short article in the paper one morning about a man who was fishing, fell out of the boat and drowned. I asked my mother, "Why did he drown?". She replied, "He probably didn't know how to swim."
I was astounded.
The concept that any ADULT wouldn't know how to do an apparently simple thing, and something that I had seemingly always known how to do was just mind boggling. Thinking now, I never actually asked my parents how I learned to swim, but I do know that at age 4 I was a very comfortable swimmer. I remember jumping from a floating swim platform in a lake during a vacation in Michigan and swimming under it to see the steel drums that floated it. Climb the ladder, and jump again. And I challenged another kid to swim all the way to shore (we had been taken out in a rowboat to the swim float) and we did it.
In any case, it seems to me, even today, almost criminal not to teach kids to swim at a very early age.

Never used a paddleboard but doesn't it at least have an ankle strap so it can't run off without you? Why do so many of these mysterious deaths surrounding Washington-related people have an unbelievable element to them?

A tragic yet simple story deserving a tut, tut and sympathy. But as is in case of anything to do with the 0bamas or for that matter the Clintons, you never know. There is always a twist.

He died because he misjudged the massive rise in the sea level - - caused by gullible warming.
If only he had paid more attention to "climate scientists" - - he'd be alive today.

An addendum to #6: I remember when my mother, who was a Red Cross Water Safety instructor and lifeguard in her earlier life, taught me to swim. (I was probably 4 or so.) We started at the ladder at the side of the church pool. Mom said, "Catch me," and took off in a slow backstroke, never getting more than about a foot ahead of me. With considerable ungainly effort I thrashed my way across the pool, and was furious when we reached the ladder at the pool's other side. Mom smiled and said, "Congratulations. You just learned how to swim. Let the water be your friend." From then on, I loved being in the water. Thanks, Mom.

I hate to see anybody lose their life unnecessarily. Poor fellow. I believe he was W's WH chef, too.
But poor you, Moochie. Having to make your own toast must really suck. Or perhaps have Obie get in the kitchen and get to work. "You hear me, Barack?"

68 yr old here who paddleboards all the time - to drown in 8 ft of water 100 yds from shore has to be unusual. That would be an easy swim in. Especially for a young, healthy male. Very sorry for his wife and 2 little boys who have lost their father but this is strange.

Maybe at some point he walked in on Mooch in the bathroom and noticed the seat was up? Or there was a time when he overheard Barry giving Joe his instructions for the day? Did he become too much of a liability? Democrats are pretty masterful in handling their "liabilities".
Unfortunately Joan Rivers is not available for comment.
