A pair of recent reports on the state of homelessness in Los Angeles seemed to send mixed signals about how the effort to bring people in from the streets is going. The first came was an announcement from Mayor Karen Bass, who said last month that her administration has helped shelter 14,381 unhoused people, largely by focusing on the encampments that have become symbols of this dismaying problem. This represents a major step forward in addressing homelessness, given that Bass pledged to find housing – permanent or interim – for 17,000 people in her first year. So 14,000 in the

Bass is pouring millions of dollars into helping the homeless, but the homeless numbers are growing even faster. She blames TX for the increase.

The voters of Los Angeles knew what they were getting when they voted for far left Bass. The Democrat Press, as the Santa Monica Daily Press does, will paper over her failures and try to blame Republicans from states far away.

Build them a campground far out in the mountains that is not near a civilized area and drop food in by parachute. Los Angeles is too far gone to see any form of recovery but at least people can walk down the street without tripping over bodies, tents, needles and human waste.

FTA: "One example: Beginning in June, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, taking a break from denying food to the hungry, water to the thirsty and trying to drown immigrants in the Rio Grande, began shipping busloads of migrants to Los Angeles. Since then, four more buses have arrived, each transporting dozens of people – many of them children as young as 2 years old and all in need of help." Nuff said. Another unbiased (hah!) progressive newspaper.

Poster #1, I am not convinced that the voters had a say in Bass becoming mayor of Los Angeles. The evidence seems to suggest that the outcomes of elections in most major cities in the U.S. are no longer decided by how people vote. Rather, they are decided by how those who count the vote wish them to be.

I suggest they stop feeding and watering them, by facilitating the homeless they encourage more of it. Make it illegal to feed for free and enforce the laws like theft and the many others they all break everyday. Nothing short of this will have any lasting effect.

Been thinking the same thing for some time #4. The consistent 're election' of Democrats spanning decades is simply hard to accept especially in major cities where voters SHOULD have woken up LONG ago. I think 2020 was the just the cherry on top of the ice cream sunday and that election fraud has kept many Dems in office for DECADES. Now that the Dems can get away with it, I don't foresee an honest, fair election in the country ever again ! And to #8, the rest of the family / household / street / entire village / entire city just haven't gotten here YET !! Give'em time and the 'southern boarder of the United States will be up against Guatemala !!

Men are invading female spaces, stealing championships, and mocking the very meaning of “woman”— subtly attempting to reverse centuries of progress. The testimony from Chloe Cole and former University of Pennsylvania swimmer Paula Scanlan at a Congressional hearing on Thursday again points to a troubling emptiness in the narrative – where are the feminists? Despite the obvious attack on women’s rights and all the achievements they fought so hard for, the headlines are empty of major feminists championing these women. Where are the Gloria Steinems of today? Why are high level feminist activists freely allowing the regression of women’s rights?

The general in charge of Ukraine's stuttering counter-offensive in the south has said Russian defences are making it difficult for military equipment, including Western tanks and armoured vehicles, to move forward. Gen Oleksandr Tarnavskyi says his forces are struggling to overcome multi-layered minefields and fortified defensive lines. "That is why most of the tasks have to be performed by troops." He says Russia's military has displayed "professional qualities" by preventing Ukrainian forces from "advancing quickly". (Snip) But so far there's little evidence that Western supplied tanks and armoured vehicles have been able to tip the balance decisively in Ukraine's favour.

BRICK, N.J. — New Jersey is pushing an ambitious agenda to move its more than 9 million residents away from natural gas and gasoline to heat their homes and power their cars, in favor of electricity to do the job of both. But like many other places in the country, the moves, designed to lessen the harmful impact of burning fossil fuels on the planet’s climate, are garnering significant opposition from foes who warn that the government is coming to take away your stove and your car. New Jersey utility regulators are to vote Wednesday on a series of “decarbonization”

Massachusetts State Police said Campbell was employed by the former president and was visiting Martha’s Vineyard at the time of his passing. The Biden administration on Friday proposed tightening an efficiency standard for new residential water heaters — a move that it said would both save consumers money and combat climate change. The draft rule would require that, in order to become more efficient, most common-size electric water heaters use heat pump technology and gas-powered heaters use condensing technology. The proposal from the Energy Department would cut 501 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions over 30 years, the department said. That’s the equivalent of the emissions of 134 coal-fired power plants in one year. The department also said the standards would

Here's the hard truth: If Trump secures the Republican nomination, Joe Biden will be re-elected. But, if Ron DeSantis becomes the nominee, then the Democrats have little to no chance.
