Let them Drink Water: Alcohol Ban at Paris
Olympics for All but VIP Elites

Alcohol consumption at the 2024 Paris Olympics will be restricted to special VIP areas only, a report Tuesday confirmed, meaning the elites can happily quaff Champagne while those in the cheap seats will be forced to look on and sip water. Thanks to an edict called Elvin’s Law which began in 1991, alcohol sales have long been banned to the general public in France’s sports stadiums. Exceptions are allowed, but a spokesperson for the Organizing Committees for the Olympic Games told Reuters they didn’t seek one, /snip/ Fans in VIP sections, however, will be allowed to imbibe as much and as often as they please.

Comments:

I assume that lines to enter will be long, as gendarmes check each person's effects, like a high school dance, to see if they are worthy to have some wine or beer. Does that include France's new Muslim population too?

Ironic how the French, who say 'the more things change the more they remain the same", now have a modern day version of “Qu'ils mangent de la brioche”—“Let them eat cake.”

It's good to know the French are so committed to "Liberté, égalité, fraternité". Yes, all animals there are equal there, with some even being more equal than others.

I work stadium security: pro soccer, NFL, concerts, etc. People get completely shite-faced when they attend events for some reason that I'll never understand. A certain spanish-speaking segment of the audience will throw beer and ice onto the field at soccer games, especially if it's 2 foreign teams playing. At NFL games, the folks in the nosebleed seats have been known to launch beer cans. At concerts, a lot of people are puking their guts out in the seats causing distress for their surrounding seatmates. The same thing could be happening in the private, highly paid suite seats, but I never hear about it. Or could drinking in public (at the Paris Olympics) offend the Muslims--sparking fights and other problem behaviors which will be really bad PR.

European sports fans are crazy enough without alcohol. Stampedes, car burning, riots and general mayhem are only enhanced by alcohol. However, to retaliate against the hypocrisy, don't buy tickets and don't attend what has become a shameless insult to amateur athletics.

Admiral Rachel Levine, the Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), has declared, as Pride month is coming to an end, that it should be a “Summer of Pride.” “Happy Pride! Happy Pride Month, and actually — let’s declare it a summer of Pride. Happy Summer of Pride.” The admiral, who is transgender, posted the message on the official HHS Instagram account, and posted similar sentiments on Twitter: Pride month originally began as a commemoration of the Stonewall riots of late June1969, when activists rioted against police raids on the Stonewall pub, where gay men had been known to congregate and meet.

The U.S. Department of Transportation announced Monday it is releasing some $1.7 billion in grants to fund new electric and low-emission buses across the country. The taxpayer dollars come from the 2021 infrastructure bill signed into law by President Joe Biden, AP reports, with the money going to transit projects in 46 states and territories. “Every day, millions of Americans climb aboard over 60,000 buses to get to work, to school, doctor’s appointments, everywhere they need to be,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said in a call with reporters. “These are unprecedented levels of investment when it comes to putting modern cleaner buses on the road.”

Apart of its continuing effort to make our lives less convenient and pleasant President Biden represented by “climate czar” John Kerry has signed a global agreement with 12 other countries to place farmers under new restrictions to reduce emissions of methane gas, all in the name of fighting "climate change." This would effectively reduce cattle and other agricultural production, raise the cost of food, and deprive farmers (already beset with supply chain disruptions, drought and increased loan interest rates) and the communities which service them of a substantial portion of their living and lead to starvation for many.

As Gateway Pundit readers know, Stephanopoulos is a former Democrat advisor who once served as Bill Clinton’s communications director before entering the media. He has carried water for his favored party since. Stephanopoulos started his inquisition by trying to get Trusty to agree that Trump committed crimes. The media and other Democrats repeatedly call Republicans fascists and dictators to intentionally mislead the public. Fascists are essentially authoritarians. Trump and other Republicans basically want to transfer power and money to the people, which is the opposite of what an authoritarian would do. Democrats are seeking to transfer as much power and money to the government, which is what fascists or dictators would do. Here are some examples: On healthcare, Democrats want to either have single payer, government-run insurance or want to dictate, as with Obamacare, exactly what must be in health care policies. Republicans want people and companies to have freedom of choice.

The Supreme Court has ruled that it is unlawful for colleges and universities to use race as a factor in admissions, overturning rulings from as far back as 1978 that claimed institutions of higher education had a valid interest in promoting racial diversity on campus and could thus give favorable consideration to black and Latino applicants in their admissions process. Two separate decisions were reached in which the nation’s highest court ruled that Harvard University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill engaged in unlawful discriminatory practices based on race that violated the Constitution.

President Joe Biden slammed the U.S. Supreme Court for its decision striking down racial preferences in college admissions on Thursday, declaring in the White House: “This is not a normal court.” Biden scheduled a press event to react to the decision in Students for Fair Admissions v. The court struck down racial preferences in college admissions that could not meet the “strict scrutiny” standards of the Constitution’s Fourteenth Amendment.

In the decades during which I have followed politics and social issues, I have seen passionate disagreements among Americans. The Vietnam War was the focus of massive protests. Legalized abortion, after Roe v. Wade, was followed by bombings. Racial integration was accompanied by murders by racist militants. Unenforced laws, including immigration and retail theft, have left us feeling betrayed by our government. The list goes on. Somehow, we survived. Then came the transsexual movement, complete with "drag-queen story hours" for young children. Some of those children have become the victims of surgical mutilation.
