Is a U.S.-Russia War Becoming Inevitable?

Original Article

At the NATO summit in Madrid, Finland was invited to join the alliance. What does this mean for Finland? If Russian President Vladimir Putin breaches the 830-mile Finnish border, the United States will rise to Helsinki's defense and fight Russia on Finland's side. What does Finland's membership in NATO mean for America?

Comments:

Buchanan points out that NATO membership has doubled since the end of the Cold War, and that it includes former Soviet Republics. The original point of NATO was defense against the Warsaw Pact. The US historically did nothing in these countries when "freedom" was a stake. Now we use this as license to intervene directly or otherwise in places where we have no national interest. And here we are, supplying the Ukrainians (and likely with advisers on the ground there) who peddle "badly needed" weaponry on the black arms market...all for "freedom", I suppose.

In a word NO. The risk is too much, the stakes are too high. Once you go nuclear there is no flexibility. If Putin comes too close he will be overthrown. The 'liberal' Western leaders are too chicken.

Reported earlier today that the State Department has signalled that Ukraine has the right to use the HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems) we are providing to target Crimea. Ukraine and its leadership will be utterly destroyed if they fire on Crimea and the question will the be the response of the West. No one supports this president, very few people understand the events that have happened in Ukraine since 2013 BUT America is pushing for War with Russia. We all agree we have complete idiots running things so why should anyone be surprised a full War starts with Russia and then escalates to include China over Taiwan. Remember folks, we no longer have the manufacturing base needed to win a major war like we did in WW2. Besides, in the minds of the Elite the death of 400 to 500 million is simply a good start to correcting things.

One way to tell if a war is imminent would be for people to keep track of the whereabouts of our politicians, millionaires/billionaires, celebrities and other various and assorted 'elites'. If all of a sudden they aren't in the news, being interviewed on CNN etc. or gossip columns, we all better start heading for fall-out shelters.

When all else fails, take them to war. The west is desperate for war - they know they have destroyed their economies and they are grasping for shiny objects to distract. Why keep provoking Russia and China? For you morons who think Vlad is bad you better hope he stays where he is (start of conflict his favorables were in the high 70s, now it's high 80s). He's been keeping the real lunatics in check - those who want to adopt the US version of fighting war. Bomb the excrement out of everything, civilian infrastructure, civilians be damned. That's fine when you're fighting "rag heads" without an air force but not when you're facing an enemy that is not in thrall to the military industrial complex. Unfortunately, there will be war and the jingoism at the outset will be as short lived as that for WWs 1 and II. NATO forces as currently constituted are no match for Russia. Stop believing the media crap given out by our ex-military perfumed princes of the Russian struggles in Ukraine. The Russian 'B' forces of 100,000 have crushed a force 5-6 times greater than them. Do you have any concept of how unprecedented that is? The Russian elite forces are still in reserve and why would that be? I pray cooler heads prevail but with the present crop of degenerates running the west backed up by the ex-Ukrainian "sleepers" in our governments, I fear the worse.

No fallout shelters are needed if we are to believe the New York City idiots running the city. Just go inside and take a shower. You will be sent a text to inform you of what to do next. Never mind that no text will be coming because the EMP pulse from the nuke will wipe out all communications. I was in third grade when we had nuke drills in school in October 1962. Even then I had enough knowledge to know hiding under my desk or being curled up in a ball in the hallway was a waste of time. All I really wanted to do was go home.

if diapers and the demcommies have anything to say about it being "Inevitable" there are three open ended choices that the demcommies always use in their governing" 1) spend money on things regardless the reason 2) raise or configure new taxes to impoverish the people 3) start or enter existing conflicts/wars no matter where or for what reason so far they've done 1&2 and now all they have is #3 and it won't be long before that one is a reality

As the House committee probing the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol continues to reveal how it says then-President Donald Trump and his allies worked to overturn the 2020 election, a bipartisan group of senators has quietly reached agreement on a sweeping effort to overhaul the very law at the heart of the former president's effort -- the Electoral Count Act of 1887 -- and was set to unveil a bill Wednesday. The ambiguous 19th century law attempts to prescribe both the process by which the Electoral College selects the president and vice president and how Congress then counts those votes.

A staggering 71 million more people around the world are experiencing poverty as a result of soaring food and energy prices that climbed in the weeks following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the United Nations Development Program said in a report Thursday. The UNDP estimates that 51.6 million more people fell into poverty in the first three months after the war, living off $1.90 a day or less. This pushed the total number globally at this threshold to 9% of the world's population. An additional 20 million people slipped to the poverty line of $3.20 a day.

Clinton just can’t give it a rest. She has rested her entire legacy on one day sitting in the Oval Office as this nation’s first female president. But since his heroic actions contradict the carefully-cultivated left-wing narrative, a number of prominent voices have immediately risen up to demonize the young man. Case in point: the majority of the hosts on ABC’s “The View,” whose considered opinion is that Dicken just got “very lucky,” and was probably as bad as the mass shooter since he “broke the law” when he carried his gun into the mall. As the United States continues to come to grips with the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. I am a rabbi in a legal system that excluded women for thousands of years, much like the legal system that the Supreme Court relied on in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. But unlike the American legal system, the Jewish tradition, in certain respects, including abortion, found a way to craft laws grounded in equal dignity for women.

In the past fifty years, we’ve had precisely ten different First Ladies in America. Some of them spent their time in the White House mostly under the radar, with Rosalynn Carter and both Laura and Barbara Bush falling into this category. Others such as Nancy Reagan with her fondness for astronomy and Betty Ford with her personal challenges were somewhat quirkier, but they were likeable and mostly unremarkable. Both Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama could be outspoken and controversial, but at least they were mostly clever and competent. And then we have Jill Biden. The adage “opposites attract” may be true in some cases,
