Roberts charts own path in Supreme Court
abortion ruling

Chief Justice John Roberts issued a concurring judgment in the Supreme Court ruling Friday morning that revokes a woman's constitutional right to an abortion. Roberts explicitly sided with his conservative colleagues in their majority opinion to uphold Mississippi's ban on abortions following 15 weeks of pregnancy. However, in his concurring opinion, he expressed a difference in opinion with his colleagues on the matter of overturning the court's decades-old decision in Roe v. Wade, which gives women the constitutional right to abortion.

FTA: "revokes a woman's constitutional right to an abortion" No it doesn't. In order to be a consitutional right it has to be in The Constitution. The word "abortion" is not found anywhere in The Constitution.

a woman's constitutional right to an abortion What nonsense! Roe v Wade opined that abortion laws were unconstitutional because they violated a woman's Constitutional right to privacy. The right to privacy is infinitely vague and nowhere mentioned in the Constitution. Do I have the right to print counterfeit money in my home? Hey, where's my right to privacy? Now, don't get me wrong! I completely support anyone's right to get a safe, legal abortion. What I do not support is government overreach. The Court cannot write the law. The Court cannot declare alcohol sales unconstitutional, prostitution laws unconstitutional, or abortion laws unconstitutional, and allowing it to do so is very dangerous.

The first sentence of this article is BS. There is no wording in the Constitution that allowed abortion and therefore, it is not a right. It may not be illegal, but it is not a right granted by God. With Roe/Wade now gone, the states are free to choose their paths. Let the process play itself out. Abortion will become a ping pong game depending on who has the power in the state capitals at any given time.
