Texas Republicans win key
mayor races, dashing Democrats hopes

Texas Republicans this past weekend swept key mayoral races across the state, a setback for Democrats who expected changing demographics, especially in the state’s larger urban centers, would continue to help them win the conservative-leaning state. The biggest setback for Democrats was likely in the border town of McAllen, where roughly 85% of the 150,000 residents are Hispanics, and Republicans for the first time got a candidate elected as mayor, according to the National Review.

Comments:

As Trump would say, this is YUUUGE, especially given the size of these cities and the demographics!

My contractor came from Mexico, started at a small construction company, rose up the ranks, and eventually bought the company he worked at for many years. He now employs many, and hires sub-contractors remodeling homes. He was extremely busy last couple years. He realized the democrats were going to increase the cost of doing business, and suspect many other hard-working immigrants see the same thing. Most aren't looking to live on the government welfare system, but want a better life for their children. Remember, every increase in a government program requires more money from everyone else to support that program. It's always the little guy who ends up having a harder time paying the bills. Do you think Bill Gates worries if gasoline is $7 per gallon, or even $10 per gallon? He can afford it regardless.

When the media talks about Hispanics they miss the factor that the Hispanics who lawfully vote in current elections are US citizens, and like most US Citizens, have a very diverse outlook on domestic national, and local political policies resulting in them voting for either Democrats or Republican candidates for elective office. While the Hispanic illegal aliens that Biden is allowing into the USA unlawfully, while ignoring the immigration laws, in accordance with the ongoing Biden-Harris “open borders” initiative are mostly all poor and uneducated people who have absolutely no knowledge of domestic US polices, or the history of the USA, and therefore are very likely to eventually vote for leftist and socialist Democrats who promise them all sorts of rights and privileges once they gain unlawful entry to the USA, including “free” healthcare, housing, and being deemed eligible for many forms of social welfare payouts and the ability to bring their extended foreign family members into the USA. The root long-term objective of the Biden-Harris “open borders” and non-enforcement of the immigration laws initiatives are to legalize tens of millions of foreign origin peoples who make up the current and who will make up the future illegal alien population groups through Democrat “path to citizenship” rolling amnesties designed to permanently change the political voter demographics of enough places in the USA to the favor of the leftist and socialist Democrats, to keep them in permanent political power and be able to transform the USA into a minority-majority country where a coalition of minority groups, some of them of foreign origin, control most federal, State, and local political power throughout the USA. There can be no other reason that Biden is ignoring the current immigration laws passed by Congress by allowing the borderline to spiral out of control, as we are seeing now, and is prohibiting the federal immigration authorities from arresting and deporting the vast numbers of illegal aliens now unlawfully crossing the borderline or when they are found within the interior of the USA.

A magic formula based on a simple syllogism: Most Hispanics are Catholic. Most Catholics are against abortion. Republicans running for office should rub Democrat noses in Planned Parenthood and Marxist/socialist attitudes towards abortion.

Be aware that in Texas no municipal elections are partisan. There are no party primaries and no one runs with a party designation. The results are good news, but doesn't tell you all that much.

To use wordy words like the democrats like to do this is a 'bellwether'. In New Mexico the liberal money wasting governor who crashed our economy in 2020 kicked off her campaign for re-election but was heckled soundly at her appearance in public since the pandemic. Using a term in true Hillary Clinton fashion calling the voters 'lizards' then planned on canceling more appearances. Like Joe Biden I guess she'll campaign from her basement. Now the lizards' (Republican voters) have put out bumper stickers about 'proud to be a lizard' with a picture of the desert creature. Life might be turning around for the future to remove the democrat disasters holding offices. Great early news from Texas lets keep this going.

Nah, San Antonio elected another looney left Democrat mayor. Heck, even Henry Cisernos (who is making big bucks as a developer) would be considered a right-wing kook today. But electing conservative/Republicans in the Rio Grand Valley is something -- but remember, Trump actually won at least one or two of the border counties (one he lost by 60 percentage points in 2016), the border race in TX23, thought to be a sure win for the Democrats, went to a somewhat conservative Republican, and they nearly unseated the Democrat incumbent in TX15. Don't tell the Democrats, but they got problems. Maybe they won't "lose" the Hispanic vote, but the day of 80%+ easy elections are over. And it may start showing up in the Black community. If Republicans can take 40% of the Hispanic vote and 20% of the Black vote, the day of reckoning will come for the Dems. It's a big if, tho ...

Poster #3, has a point. I don't know why the stupid party doesn't tell Hispanic Americans that the 'rat party wants to do to them and their families exactly what they have done to African American families. Destroy them by making sure there are no fathers in the home and abort their babies.

I agree with #4 and 6. I watch also the margins of victory. In Ft. Worth Mayoral race, the margin of victory was nothing like it needs to be.

A public university violated a professor's constitutional rights by punishing him for refusing to use a transgender student's preferred pronouns, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Friday. In a unanimous opinion written by Judge Amul Thapar, a Supreme Court short-lister for former President Trump, the court compared the Ohio university's behavior to a "McCarthy era" law against "subversive" government employees. Philosophy professor Nicholas Meriwether, a "devout Christian," sought an accommodation under which he would not have to address the student as a woman in classroom discussions, which often touched on gender identity as a cultural controversy.

You've all seen the nightmare scenarios -- one actually ends with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as temporary acting president. And of course, no one really knows what's going to happen (least of all the pollsters -- remember 2016?). But here's what you might expect to happen on Election Day. First, a ray of optimism: President Trump shocked the world last time by sweeping to victory over heavy frontrunner Hillary Clinton — all before midnight.
