Five of the city’s largest LGBTQ clubs are boycotting a Pride Month reception that Mayor Adams plans to host next week over what they see as his insufficient commitment to gay rights. Led by the Stonewall Democrats of New York City, the boycott of the June 7 reception at Gracie Mansion comes in response to Adams’ decision to hire two Christian pastors for senior roles in his administration despite their histories of anti-gay views. In a lengthy statement, Stonewall Democrats and three of the other boycotting groups, Lambda Independent Democrats of Brooklyn, Lesbian and Gay Democratic Club of Queens and Equality New York, said Adams’ appointees are “reinforcing the violent

Politico reports on another reasons for Democrats to worry about the upcoming midterms. In deep blue California the number of ballots being returned in primaries is looking low so far.
After this week’s break in the primary calendar, seven states will hold elections on Tuesday. In the biggest of them, California, Democrats are already looking at some troubling early turnout numbers: So far, only about 2.2 million Californians have returned ballots. That’s less than a third of the total early vote at this point in California’s recall election last year.
Primary turnout is traditionally a poor indicator of general election turnout. But

President Biden said the Second Amendment is "not absolute" in a speech Thursday following a wave of mass shootings across the nation, pleading with to Congress to pass what he called "commonsense" gun control legislation, including reinstating an assault weapons ban, requiring background checks, and limiting magazine capacity.
The president, speaking from the Cross Hall of the White House, told Americans that the issue of restricting access to guns "is one of conscience and common sense."
"For so many of you at home, I want to be very clear – this is not about taking away anyone's guns," the president said. "It is not about vilifying gun owners. In fact,

Over the last several days, a deluge of insider stories dropped about the inner workings of the White House. Needless to say, none of them have painted a positive picture.
On Wednesday, news of infighting between Joe Biden and his staff broke, leaving the obvious question of who is actually in charge. One complaint revolved around the president’s handlers constantly coming behind him to change his statements. Another centered on Biden being so ill-informed about the various, mostly self-inflicted crises that have plagued his tenure.
Now, another report via CNN is offering more details about just how chaotic things are. With the White House adrift, the backstabbing has commenced.

Unit labor costs jumped 12.6 percent in the first quarter, a big increase from the initial estimate of 11.6 percent, data from the Department of Labor showed Thursday. Economists had forecast no change from the initial estimate. Over the past year, labor costs are up 8.2 percent, the largest four-quarter gain since 1982.

There is enough energy in the nuclear waste in the United States to power the entire country for 100 years, and doing so could help solve the thorny and politically fraught problem of managing spent nuclear waste.
That’s according to Jess C. Gehin, an associate laboratory director at Idaho National Laboratory, one of the government’s premier energy research labs.
The technology necessary to turn nuclear waste into energy is known as a nuclear fast reactor, and has existed for decades. It was proven out by a United States government research lab pilot plant that operated from the 1960s through the 1990s.

In their 2018 book, “China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America’s Dependence on China for Medicine,” Rosemary Gibson and Janardan Prasad Singh painted a profoundly ominous picture of a world that had changed over the preceding 25 years. (Snip) In 2022, China is now the source for approximately 40% of the world’s Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), which are critical to making drugs.
Few in the United States, even among physicians, are fully aware of just how drastic our dependence has become. Here are just a few examples.
· About 97% of antibiotics used in the United States, including drugs as basic as penicillin and amoxicillin, now come from China.

Tulsa Deputy Police Chief Eric Dalgleish said the suspect who attacked the St. Francis Hospital campus was a “black male estimated to be between 35-40 years old.”
Breitbart News reported the attack occurred late Wednesday afternoon. Initial reports indicated three innocents died and that figure was later updated to four innocents were killed.
The attacker was also killed via a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
CBS News reported police have not identified the attacker yet, but Dalgleish believes they are close to doing so. The deputy police chief would only say the deceased suspect is a “black male” who appears to be between 35-40 years old.

The topic of inflation is in the news nearly every day and is now the top concern among voters in most polls. Things are likely to get even worse.
Most Americans are familiar with the all items Consumer Price Index (CPI). This metric is based on changes for all consumer goods and services. However, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Economic Research Service measures the changes to retail food prices only. The agency’s May Food Price Outlook should add to voter concerns. While the all items CPI for April was 8.3%, food alone increased by 9.4%, according to the USDA. Food consumed at home also increased

The State of Florida is set to issue a formal report questioning the science behind “gender-affirming” care for people who believe they are transgender. Breitbart News exclusively obtained a 45-page report on Thursday completed by Florida Medicaid and requested by the Secretary of the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), which oversees Florida’s Medicaid program. In consultation with several experts, the report concludes that sex reassignment surgeries, puberty blockers, and cross sex hormone treatments for people with gender dysphoria are not proven as “safe or effective” treatments and are “experimental and investigational.”

Joe Biden has hit a brand new low in approval, not just in a single poll that someone could claim is an outlier, but in the overall average. RealClearPolitics now has the president clocking in at -14.9 percent net job approval with a topline result of just 40.0 percent. In the last ten polls taken, Biden managed to break 43 percent a single time (YouGov, a notoriously friendly pollster has him at 44 percent). In around half of the ten polls listed, he is approval is in the 30s. (Tweet) What we are seeing in regards to public opinion on the president is uncharted territory.

NASCAR issued an apology Wednesday for “recent actions” that are “not aligned” with its mission after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) waved the green flag ahead of last week’s All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway.
The world-famous auto racing and operating company, headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida, marked the first day of LGBTQ+ “Pride Month” with a unique version of the pride flag along with a message apologizing for actions it deemed uncharacteristic of its mission. “As we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, we acknowledge that recent actions have not aligned with NASCAR’s mission to be a welcoming sport for all,” the company wrote.

So. We vilify action men, brand chivalry and valor “toxic masculinity,” stamp on the manly virtues that made civilization possible.
Then we are shocked when armed cops stand around outside a classroom while children are slaughtered, or when straphangers watch passively as a woman is assaulted on the subway. (snip) “Traditional masculinity is psychologically harmful,” the American Psychological Association declared in 2019. These were the masculine attributes it listed as diseased: “stoicism, competitiveness, dominance, aggression, anti-femininity, achievement, eschewal of the appearance of weakness, and adventure, risk and violence.”
The only acceptable man now is a man who wants to be a woman. We celebrate “pregnant men” and “chestfeeding” men.

President Joe Biden is on the verge of announcing $10,000 in federal student loan forgiveness per borrower for millions of Americans, according to The Washington Post.
"The White House's latest plans called for limiting debt forgiveness to Americans who earned less than $150,000 in the previous year, or less than $300,000 for married couples filing jointly," write Post reporters Tyler Pager, Danielle Douglas-Gabriel, and Jeff Stein. Their sources did not say "whether the administration will simultaneously require interest and payments to resume at the end of August, when the current pause is scheduled to lapse."

Turkey will now officially be known as Türkiye after the country's government moved to swerve associations with the ground-feeding festive bird and a term for failure. The United Nations will adopt the new name from this week at Ankara's request. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said the change came into place 'from the moment' a letter sent by Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
President Erdogan ruled in November that goods manufactured in the country must now be labelled 'Made in Türkiye'. The alternative spelling expresses Turkish people's 'culture, civilisation and values', he said. Türkiye is pronounced Tur-key-yay, in line with how Turks annunciate the country's name.

Most Americans believe children should not be able to choose their own “preferred pronoun” that does not align with their biological sex, according to new polling.
A late May Harvard-Harris poll found that 59 percent of Americans believe children should be called the pronoun that aligns with their biological sex, and 60 percent believe preferred pronouns are an “excessive measure that does more to confuse kids about their sex.”
Conversely, 41 percent of Americans believe “kids should be able to pick their pronouns” and 40 percent believe calling children by those pronouns “prevents discrimination.”

With Joe Biden's polling numbers in the tank and runaway inflation the number one issue on voters' minds, in steps Biden's Treasury Secretary, and former Chair of the Federal Reserve, to take one for the team.
Washington (CNN) US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen admitted Tuesday that she had failed to anticipate how long high inflation would continue to plague American consumers as the Biden administration works to contain a mounting political liability.
"I think I was wrong then about the path that inflation would take," Yellen told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room"

The contrast in the levels of taxation between Red states and Blue states is well documented. Folks in Democrat-run states like Massachusetts and New York pay exorbitantly high taxes, apparently for the privilege of living in a state that disregards basic freedoms. Whereas those in Republican-run states such as Indiana and Florida typically pay far less in taxes. But when it comes to citing the most extreme example of high tax rates – whether we’re talking about sales tax, gas tax, income tax, or property tax – California is almost always at the top of the list.

Amber Heard's lead attorney has spoken out following her stunning civil suit loss and says the actress is unable to pay the $8.35 million in damages she owes Johnny Depp.
Lawyer Elaine Charlson Bredhoft, who represented Heard at trial, appeared on the Today Show on Thursday and said that Heard has 'excellent grounds' to appeal the verdict and plans to do so.
Asked if the Aquaman actress would be able to pay the damages she owes Depp after a jury vindicated his claims that she lied by accusing him of abuse during their marriage, Bredhoft replied: 'No, absolutely not.'

Elon Musk is demanding that Tesla employees cease remote work or be fired, in two emails sent to staff of the electric car company on Tuesday.
In the emails, which were leaked to electric car news website Electrek, Musk stated that all employees must be in the office for a minimum of 40 hours per week or depart the company. He also wrote that he will review potential exceptions directly, but only for “particularly exceptional contributors for whom this is impossible.”
Musk reiterated the statement in a follow-up email, specifying that the office must be a main Tesla office and not an off-shoot location.

Joe Biden tells whoppers with such frequency, it is difficult to know when he is telling the truth. Remarkably, even when his falsehoods are publicly condemned, he unabashedly repeats them, apparently on the premise that if a falsehood is repeatedenough, the American people will believe it. Biden thus tries to dupe the American people into believing a distorted view of history and law in aid of his far-left political agenda. Of course, the currency of the far left has long been to revise history and law in ways that cast aspersion on the champions and cause of liberty in order to bring about “transformational change,”

A week after the tragic shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, details are increasingly emerging that change the original timelines that were given. The updates, as it turns out, are often more tragic and infuriating.
Matt highlighted on Friday afternoon how the Texas Department of Public Safety, Col. Steven C. McCraw explained that they had made the decision for officers to not go in to engage with the shooter, Salvador Rolando Ramos, the 18-year old who is now deceased. This happened all while Ramos murdered 21 people, as parents desperately tried to go in to save their children but were physically prevented from doing so by police.

Buried in the middle of an NBC News report on Biden's haphazard and crisis-ridden administration is a nugget that, to most observers, has been a long time coming: White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain is looking for an exit strategy.
Like most palace intrigue stories about the goings on inside the West Wing, NBC News bases its report on "people close to the White House" without any concrete attribution. "Multiple people close to the White House said they’ve heard that chief of staff Ron Klain will depart at some point after the midterms, and one has heard him discuss leaving," the report alleges.

Duty is a demanding mistress, which is why they call it “duty” and not “fun.” You get to walk around in your uniform with people thanking you for being a first responder, which is nice. You have to deal with the hassles of taking out society’s trash, certainly. And sometimes maybe you die.
Now, I’ve pointed out these obvious truths

Former President Donald Trump has signaled he will announce his presidential intentions after the November midterm elections. Yet his record of endorsements is quite mixed. By the sheer numbers of winning primary candidates his stamp of approval is impressive, but in a few of the most important races, not so much.
The disaster that is the Biden Administration has been a godsend for Trump. Had President Joe Biden simply plagiarized the successful Trump agenda, there would have followed no border disaster, no energy crisis, no hyperinflation, and no disastrous flight from Afghanistan.
Had Biden followed through on his "unity" rhetoric, he could have lorded over Trump's successful record as his own,

A shocking new poll puts Republican Christine Drazan just slightly ahead of Democrat Tina Kotek in the Oregon governor’s race.Conducted between May 25-27, the new poll from Nelson Research showed Drazan had 29.5 percent of support out of 516 likely voters, while Kotek had just 27.5 percent of support with a margin of error of 4.3 percent. Independent Betsy Johnson trails with just 19.4 percent of support. In a new analysis for the Center for Immigration Studies, my colleague Karen Zeigler and I show that the total foreign-born or immigrant population reached 47 million in April 2022 — the highest number ever in American history, and an increase of 2 million in just the first 16 months of the Biden administration. These numbers are extraordinary, not only because they indicate that America has lost control of its borders, but also because they raise profound questions about how many people the country can successfully integrate.
