Amber Heard's lead attorney has spoken out following her stunning civil suit loss and says the actress is unable to pay the $8.35 million in damages she owes Johnny Depp.
Lawyer Elaine Charlson Bredhoft, who represented Heard at trial, appeared on the Today Show on Thursday and said that Heard has 'excellent grounds' to appeal the verdict and plans to do so.
Asked if the Aquaman actress would be able to pay the damages she owes Depp after a jury vindicated his claims that she lied by accusing him of abuse during their marriage, Bredhoft replied: 'No, absolutely not.'

Dont know anyone who “idolizes” these people. They turn out to be 14 yr olds in mind or bodyand therefore easily dismissed but this case was a LANDMARK case in spite of the wretched wrecks who call themselves ACK!tors and the men who have come on Lcom to complain of the injustice of women against them SHOULD take note: it is possible to stand in court now and say that men are abused. Depp fought this hard because the malignant narcissist known as Heard taunted him with the words that no one in the world would believe him.
Heard is TOAST and any studio that hires her now will never succeed.

Bankruptcy not claiming poverty is this vile woman's only way out now and her lawyer knows this to be true. He also knows that he is just another creditor destined to get 2 cents on the dollar - if that much.

You roll the dice, you pay the price. But she won't ever pay anything. The only one who gets rich off these games is the lawyers. Has Oberlin College written a check to anyone other than the lawyers yet? Does anyone think they ever will? Our judiciary is a complete and utter joke. It's become an embarrassment to Kangaroos and Paper Tigers everywhere. The only justice you can get in America is what you go and get yourself. Don't get caught, you will definitely pay the price if they find you were cutting the lawyers out of their share.

I don't idolize actors. I admire good ones, and Johnny Depp can be excellent. His Captain Jack Sparrow character is an icon. He has his faults and needs to get himself off drugs and alcohol. But in the testimony I believed him. I am a woman who was in an abusive marriage and what he said, resonated with me.

And most of the time, it's not the actor/ess the person "idolizes", it's one of the characters the actor person has portrayed. It's difficult for people to separate them.
For instance, I "idolized" Mr. Spock, which carried over to Leonard Nimoy. Until, that is, he started narrating the pseudo-science, -history show, "In Search of..." I knew Mr. Spock would not have been caught dead doing that show. When Nimoy came out with his book, " I Am Not Spock", I was not shocked.

And it's interesting that I do not see a listing for "In Search Of..." among Nimoy's IMDB credits.

OK, how much can she pay right now? Have his lawyers force her to give a full financial report. Then, he can go after her assets. She owns a million dollar home. Slap a lien on it. She got paid $2 million for Aquaman 2. Where is it? He can garnish her future wages. Make her life miserable, like she did his.

She’s the Juicy Smollyay of the mee too movement. Perhaps this marks its death. It certainly showed the ACLU to be paid thugs.
After this, she may not be able to find acting jobs or a billionaire to fund her narcissistic turbulent life.
If she can appeal she’s got more money than most people.

Rule 1 of lawsuits: Does the defendant have the ability to pay? If not, you sued the wrong person.
Lawyers in Texas used to have to advertise when they boasted of their wins what was actually paid to the client (You know, $50 million verdict, $28 million to the client, $1 million expenses, $21 million to the lawyers and all the tv ads). The law got changed and they don't have to report that. One attorney got a $1.5 billion award in a church-related sexual-abuse case against a guy with no means to pay (that fact unreported) but brags on their $1.5 billion victory. With not even a dime in the plantiff's pocket.

I doubt Depp gives two sh*ts about the money (pun intended). I believe for him it was about clearing his name and exposing her as the narcissistic liar she is.

We all knew what she wanted from him, probably from the day she was married to him. Now the little tramp is crying 'poah'! Right. She might not be able to pay her attorney, and no one will work for this aging washed up 'actress' for nothing! She seems to have a loud mouth attacking Depp and wanting to take him for anything she can get her greedy hands on. Now she is busy pleading poverty. Not going to work!

My ex and her lawyer accused me of everything in the book every friday for 6 months. I ended up with pts for friday accusation drops to the court. I could no longer open my mailbox on friday and fled the county every weekend. It didnt help her settlement one bit from my fair offer on day 1. I didnt get any sense of justice that depp got here except i was never arrested or investigated for any of her accusations. My lawyer said everyone lies in family court; i was adamant, i told him i DID NOT.

If she carries liability insurance, can he collect from that? I'd be surprised if she didn't carry some kind of defamation insurance as a public figure.
