President Biden said the Second Amendment is "not absolute" in a speech Thursday following a wave of mass shootings across the nation, pleading with to Congress to pass what he called "commonsense" gun control legislation, including reinstating an assault weapons ban, requiring background checks, and limiting magazine capacity. The president, speaking from the Cross Hall of the White House, told Americans that the issue of restricting access to guns "is one of conscience and common sense." "For so many of you at home, I want to be very clear – this is not about taking away anyone's guns," the president said. "It is not about vilifying gun owners. In fact,

FTA, "the Second Amendment, like all other rights, is not absolute." " Yes, Diaper Joe's words. So the 5th amendment isn't absolute. The 8th amendment can come and go depending on the political prisoner. We know Democrats hate the 1st Amendment. Look how they persecute Christians and Jews (never a Muzzie). Does this mean we can limited women's right to vote? Does this mean we can limit 18 ears the right to vote? The only good side is if Diaper Joe limits the income tax (The only thing more assured in life, more than death, is democrats raising taxes). These are the words of a megalomanic dictator. Diaper Joe has always been stupid. Probably more stupid that Barbie Boxer. And he is the Webster's definition of a bully. But now he believes amendments are more like suggesting and can be used like mere guidelines. Sadly, the entire Democrat party believes this as well.

FTA: "Pointing to the 2022 Midterm Elections, Biden said that he believes "the majority of you will act to turn your outrage into making this issue central to your vote."" The outrage is probably true but not the way he thinks. This issue also goes beyond voting, as it is a fundamental right that is not subject to political whims. The Constitution did not allow President Washington to decide what was absolute and what wasn't; can anyone imagine Biden having that prerogative?

The Founders, who were quite familiar with HISTORY, wanted to make quite sure that Federal government could NOT confiscate or interfere with the Peoples’ guns, hence the wording of the 2nd Amendment. THey KNEW what SOME politicians could attempt. Perhaps Captain Demento is looking to rile up enough folks to allow him to declare an “emergency.” He’ll know what a real emergency is if he tries to restrict Americans’ rights. This is true desperation and political posturing. Exactly what we expect from Captain Demento as his polls go into the toilet, and deservedly so.

#23, if your neighbors come at you with axes, a common tool, you would want an effective firearm, wouldn't you? Because if you are ok with some rat deciding guns are too dangerous for people outside government, you won't have one, but your neighbors will still have their axes, and if they are criminal types, they will also have guns. Plus anyone can make lethal bombs and poison gas with things used for farming, transport and household cleaning. Your concerns are a strong case for being armed with guns you are comfortable using safely and effectively. NO elected slob has the right to tell citizens that they can not use deadly force to protect themselves and others.

The Second Amendment may not be "absolute," but it does require an amendment to the United States Constitution to change it. The origin of the Second Amendment goes back to 1775, when hundreds of British troops were sent to Concord, Massachusetts, in order to seize weapons and ammunition stockpiled there by American colonists. If they had succeeded, the American colonists would have been helpless against the British army, preventing the Revolution from taking place. The Second Amendment was intended to prevent a tyrannical future government from doing what the British tried to do in 1775. In case you have not noticed, seize weapons and ammunition from the people is what is being proposed. If seizing weapons and ammunition worked to prevent killings by criminals and deranged people, Chicago would be peaceful. Instead it leads in killings.

It's all so stupid, how can he call any of it "commonsense" with a straight face? If you have a handgun that holds 15 rounds, how much longer does it take to load and shoot two magazines of 7 rounds each? One second, maybe. We have millions of semi-auto rifles out here that hold 30-round magazines. Same timing goes. Faster if you tape two of them back to back. Here's an idea, Joe. Leave honest citizens alone and take away guns from felons. Even better, put felons in prison or insane asylums.

Politico reports on another reasons for Democrats to worry about the upcoming midterms. In deep blue California the number of ballots being returned in primaries is looking low so far. After this week’s break in the primary calendar, seven states will hold elections on Tuesday. In the biggest of them, California, Democrats are already looking at some troubling early turnout numbers: So far, only about 2.2 million Californians have returned ballots. That’s less than a third of the total early vote at this point in California’s recall election last year. Primary turnout is traditionally a poor indicator of general election turnout. But

In Vancouver, Canada, in late May, a Tesla Model Y burst into flames while the driver was waiting for a light at an intersection. He had to kick out a window to escape. Around the same time, a new Tesla burst into flames in Brooklyn, Illinois, and a week before that a Model 3 caught fire in California City, California, while it was parked in a driveway. In April, a deadly lithium-ion battery fire occurred in a Tesla car crash in Houston. Last year, a Tesla caught fire while charging overnight in a garage, which the Washington Post described as “one in a string of recent examples

New York's legislature voted on its last day of session Thursday to ban anyone under the age of 21 from buying or even possessing a semi-automatic rifle. The bill also requires anyone buying a semi-automatic rifle to get a license - which is currently only required in New York State for handguns. But it is just one part of a larger package of gun control measures announced earlier this week by Democratic legislative leaders and Gov. Kathy Hochul to bolster New York's already strict gun laws in the wake of a mass shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo.

Former President Donald Trump has signaled he will announce his presidential intentions after the November midterm elections. Yet his record of endorsements is quite mixed. By the sheer numbers of winning primary candidates his stamp of approval is impressive, but in a few of the most important races, not so much. The disaster that is the Biden Administration has been a godsend for Trump. Had President Joe Biden simply plagiarized the successful Trump agenda, there would have followed no border disaster, no energy crisis, no hyperinflation, and no disastrous flight from Afghanistan. Amber Heard's lead attorney has spoken out following her stunning civil suit loss and says the actress is unable to pay the $8.35 million in damages she owes Johnny Depp. Lawyer Elaine Charlson Bredhoft, who represented Heard at trial, appeared on the Today Show on Thursday and said that Heard has 'excellent grounds' to appeal the verdict and plans to do so. Asked if the Aquaman actress would be able to pay the damages she owes Depp after a jury vindicated his claims that she lied by accusing him of abuse during their marriage, Bredhoft replied: 'No, absolutely not.'

In a new analysis for the Center for Immigration Studies, my colleague Karen Zeigler and I show that the total foreign-born or immigrant population reached 47 million in April 2022 — the highest number ever in American history, and an increase of 2 million in just the first 16 months of the Biden administration. These numbers are extraordinary, not only because they indicate that America has lost control of its borders, but also because they raise profound questions about how many people the country can successfully integrate.
