Democrat Adam Frisch, who's hoping to run for the U.S. House of Representatives seat held by Rep. Lauren Boebert, said Thursday he wants to make amends with a Pueblo restaurant and other businesses that were affected by a "muck-up" during his kickoff election tour of Colorado. Frisch planned to stop at barbecue restaurants in towns and cities in Colorado District 3, which Boebert currently represents, on a 1,100-mile campaign tour last week. But poor communication and even worse research led to parts of the tour, including the Pueblo leg, being disastrous. Before the tour, Frisch was told that his campaign

New Yorkers will have to pay “hundreds of billions of dollars” in higher utility bills due to the state’s “Green New Deal”-inspired plan, according to a top energy regulatory official—who accused lawmakers of hiding the true cost of the bill. John Howard, former chairman and current member of the state Public Service Commission, claimed former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the Democratic-run legislature never leveled with the public on the costs associated with the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act approved in 2019.
Howard, during a PSC session Thursday, said local pols “totally obfuscated” the costs of the plan because the sticker shock would have made the initiative unpopular.

Some Yale law students are calling for the “unrelenting daily ostracization” of people who disagree with them on abortion — as if they don’t ostracize them already anyway. But in addition to giving conservative students migraines because of their constant caterwauling, the frothing radicals want to toss the Constitution tooThey don’t say what we should replace it with. Because that would require actual thought — something the radicals are unfamiliar with. They do a great job emoting and wailing and gnashing their teeth, but when it comes to thinking, it’s as mysterious as Oak Island.

During the BLM riots that swept the nation in 2020 and beyond, critics of the violence and mayhem took to sarcastically calling that period the “summer of love.” Now a new wave of angry protests is erupting in multiple cities targeting the Supreme Court over its anticipated ruling that would mostly overturn Roe v. Wade. The topic may be quite different than the BLM marches, but the tactics are already starting to look similar. Protest organizers have already announced that they want this period to be a “summer of rage.” But is that really the way to win the battle for hearts and minds?

We may be seeing the beginning of the elite throwing Joe Biden under the bus.
I wrote on Saturday about Amazon and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos calling out Joe Biden’s false comment that he could reduce inflation by taxing corporations more. This revealed Joe Biden’s ignorance about economics on what the cause of inflation is and what would stop it. Not to mention that if you did this, it would likely cause prices to go up more, as corporations would pass on the additional taxes in increased prices on their products. So, it would make inflation worse. But Joe doesn’t understand that. Or simply doesn’t care, because it fits his narrative.

To be fair, that would describe Ms. Pelosi on most days. But the specific reference is to her appearance this morning on CNN, as reported by the Washington Times. Pelosi was beside herself on the subject of abortion:
Asked by CNN’s Dana Bash about criticism that Democrats did not foresee anti-abortion activists’ work, Mrs. Pelosi lashed out against the high court….
“Let’s not take our eye off the ball — the ball is this court which is dangerous to the freedoms of our country,” Mrs. Pelosi told CNN’s “State of the Union.” “Beware in terms of marriage equality, beware in terms of other aspects of it.

Everybody to the right of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez knows that the root cause of the crisis facing America — the most serious since the Civil War — is lawlessness. And everybody not under the spell of the Democrat spin machine understands that the lawlessness begins at the top, with government and the many agencies of the executive branch who are tasked by our Constitution with enforcing the law. None.

It’s truly amazing how differently news stories are handled, depending on whether or not Donald Trump can be painted as the villain.
As the saying goes, if it weren’t for double standards, the Democrats and state-run media (but I repeat myself) would have no standards at all.
This week’s example was yet another previously unthinkable event happening in Dementia Joe Biden’s dysfunctional, dystopian America: a nationwide shortage of baby formula.
Ask yourself, how loud would the media be screaming if Donald Trump had done absolutely nothing as this shortage of baby formula developed. And the suddenly the shelves were empty and young families were panicking

About 30 abortion advocates gathered outside the front entrance to the law school in Arlington, Virginia, to protest an address set to be given by Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito at the school.
The address was being given by Alito remotely from the court building while fallout from a draft opinion overturing infamous pro-abortion case Roe v. Wade — written by Alito — was leaked, leading leftists to gather outside justices homes to protest.

So the week ends with this headline from The Washington Post: Jan. 6 committee sets up historic showdown. The Post story says this: The Jan. 6 committee's decision Thursday to subpoena five House Republican lawmakers sets up a tense and historic showdown over Congress' ability to force its members to participate in one of its own investigations – the outcome of which could have major political and legal ramifications.…the chair of the committee, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) said the subpoenas were necessary because “several of our colleagues have information relevant to our investigation into the attack on January 6th and the events leading up to it.”

In a highly opinionated and, at times, almost wistful homage to outgoing White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s tenure, CNN’s Brian Stelter bid a fond farewell to the future MSNBC contributor in a manner “that would make the editors of Pravda blush.”As Psaki made way Friday for her successor, Karine Jean-Pierre, Stelter released an “analysis” of her 224 press briefings and myriad news appearances loaded with gushing quotes from his favored and “reliable” sources. In so doing, the CNN host couldn’t help but take potshots at the previous administration, Fox News, and pretty much anyone who failed to subscribe to his worldview.

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors has a burgeoning real estate portfolio, the ears of woke corporations throughout the country, and … a very thin skin. The beleaguered activist, whose California home-buying spree last year raised questions, accused The Daily Wire’s Candace Owens of harassing her and putting her family in danger in a tearful Instagram post. But Owens on Saturday released video of her May 7 visit to Cullors’ home, and it’s hard to see what the fuss was about.“Hello,” Owens begins, apparently talking to a guard from outside a gate in front of Cullors’ home. “I was just looking to speak to whomever was at this property,

Wokeism is not what it pretends to be. (snip) They want two sets of rules -- some for us, others for them.
For example: Offending them is a terrible thing. It’s so terrible, in fact, that they’ve been trying to make it illegal to hurt their feelings. Yet they can offend us all the time.
They insist that subjective feelings are profoundly important -- important enough to write laws and even base entire societies on. Yet our feelings are routinely ignored, minimized, dismissed, mischaracterized, or forcefully suppressed.

You can tell the Biden administration has badly bungled the infant formula situation when the best their shills at the Associated Press can do is play the “Republicans pounce” card: “GOP’s new midterm attack: Blaming Biden for formula shortage.”
Republicans aiming to retake control of Congress have already sharpened a message centering around blaming Democrats for high inflation, expensive gas, migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border and violent crime in some cities.
But GOP leaders landed on an issue this week that it hopes could prove even more potent: tying President Joe Biden to a shortage in baby formula.
