I’ve recently started watching The Crown on Netflix. Lots of great history about England I never knew including the King who gave up his crown to marry a divorcee, was a nazi sympathizer and his wife, Wallace-Simpson, may have been a honey pot trap. Each episode is a chapter in English history and it’s very interesting. Queen Elizabeth was put in her position as a reluctant Queen, her younger sister Margaret, actually wanted the job but rose to the occasion. It’s a much better show than I expected.

I would say Long Live the Queen but she has! The passing of an era in a country very very much changed from just twenty-five years ago. Have a lovely time dear Queen Elizabeth!

I certainly don't understand why the British require any Americans to assist them in celebrating her Platinum Jubilee... especially a weird Scientologist.
She's both a great leader and human being. Had King George III been her instead, we still might be part of Britain!

Long live the Queen. Charles is an idiot.
The article did not mention which members of the royal family were in attendance.

Who invited Ethan Hunt and not James Bond?
As for the current Queen's longevity, things have changed since the days when royalty actually ran the country and everyone was always out to put a sudden end to their reign.

Good comment from #1. To add to that, the reason Prince Phillip never got to be King consort in his own right was because of his nasty ambitious uncle Mountbatten. Elizabeth and Churchill found out about some bold comments he was making regarding his family's future, and they refused to make him King. He was very resentful to his wife, Phillip was. The Crown is one of the better series covering the British royals, and you can find out a lot of things you didn't know.
Long Live The Queen, long enough to get William the crown instead of her selfish, self centered son.

#2 The Crown is fiction with a whole lot of propaganda included. Why on earth would you believe what you see on tv. BTW it's Wallis Warfield Simpson.

That’s BS #17, The Crown is mostly fiction. Traditionally the husband of the Queen is known as the Prince Consort (which Phillip was) and never becomes king. We learned that in primary school and I doubt it has changed.

Indeed, #1. But while QE2 is still on this side of the ground, I sure wish she would tell Charles to take a hike and replace him with William as next in line for the throne.

Can you imagine a King Charles?
The Brits would then have a Brandon to endure--and without a vote to put him in office, or to remove him from office.
