After hearing concerns from students and parents, Patrick Henry High School will reinstate two honors courses that were cut by the principal, San Diego Unified School District officials told families Tuesday. The school in the San Carlos neighborhood is bringing back Honors American Literature and Honors U.S. History, two 11th-grade courses that Principal Michelle Irwin had eliminated from next school year’s course list without telling students or parents. [snip] There are still six other advanced courses missing from the catalog that Irwin had cut last year. Those will not be restored as of yet, according to district officials.

Comments:

You guessed it - all in response to racial inequalities. I normally shake my head in disgust upon seeing high school students protesting and blocking traffic but not this time. Another education official, caught implementing the lib agenda and publicly put in her place. I guess we should be glad that U.S. history is still being taught at all.

Good to hear - but what is the honors class teaching? More of the same brainwashing, or more challenging versions of the truth for the brighter and harder working kids?

Readers not in that particular district are left to wonder if restoring only 2 honors classes then PLANNING to add others instead of restoring the ones they removed is anything other than redistributing intellectual wealth.
