House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has landed on the island of Taiwan after weeks of international speculation and threats of retaliation from the Chinese Communist Party. Pelosi, who is conducting an extensive tour of multiple allied nations in Asia, has finally touched down in Taiwan despite repeated threats to the speaker's safety. Her plane touched down in Taiwan at approximately 10:45am EST.

Comments:

Let me think-- Would full blown war with China and Russia increase the likelihood of Biden being elected? Might be his best shot!

It’s ok. Taiwan, just deliver her and her whole party to China and send the plane back. Not only can they have her, they can keep her. No one will care and no one wants to fight a war over her boney ass. Especially Adam Schiff.

China must be awfully insecure if they feel threatened by a visit from Nancy Pelosi. She is only a danger if you are a Republican or love the USA. If anything, she is a sellout to China. Paul Pelosi must have his eye on some stocks on a company based in Taiwan that Nancy might just happen to visit.

There's nothing to see here. Xi needs to impress his masses ahead of an election (which will of course re-install him again, and no possibility of election fraud over there, right?) and biden the cheater needs to get his poll numbers up over here with the sheep. So after they both get a chance to do a little head-butting, things will be good and the chicoms' take-over of Taiwan will happen in due course. Maybe a little proxy war in the meantime, no big deal.

The efficacy of ivermectin in preventing hospitalization [SNIP] is unclear. We conducted a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, adaptive platform trial involving symptomatic SARS-CoV-2–positive adults. A total of 3515 patients were randomly assigned to receive ivermectin (679 patients), placebo (679), or another intervention (2157). Treatment with ivermectin did not result in a lower incidence of medical admission to a hospital due to progression of Covid-19.

Russia's Black Sea flagship has been sunk, Moscow's defence ministry finally admitted tonight, after Kyiv officially claimed earlier to have been behind a double-missile strike late on Wednesday off the coast of Ukraine. The Moskva - a huge Soviet-era missile cruiser - sank as it was towed back to port in stormy weather following an explosion and fire, Russian news agencies reported on Thursday. Kyiv said earlier that it was behind an attack that it claimed caused the warship to 'start sinking', as naval analysts said the vessel and its 510-strong crew were left sitting ducks after sailing in predictable patterns within range of Ukraine's coastal missile batteries.

The anti-parasitic drug ivermectin, which has surged in popularity as an alternative treatment for Covid-19 despite a lack of strong research to back it up, showed no sign of alleviating the disease, according to results of a large clinical trial published on Wednesday. WASHINGTON — Days before the anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced the Senate will vote on filibuster rules changes to advance stalled voting legislation that Democrats say is needed to protect democracy. In a letter Monday to colleagues, Schumer, D-N.Y., said the Senate “must evolve” and will “debate and consider” the rules changes by Jan. 17, on or before Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as the Democrats seek to overcome Republican opposition to their elections law package. “Let me be clear: January 6th was a symptom of a broader illness — an effort to delegitimize our election process,”

BERLIN — Germany on Friday is shutting down half of the six nuclear plants it still has in operation, a year before the country draws the final curtain on its decades-long use of atomic power. The decision to phase out nuclear power and shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy was first taken by the center-left government of Gerhard Schroeder in 2002. His successor, Angela Merkel, reversed her decision to extend the lifetime of Germany’s nuclear plants in the wake of the 2011 Fukushima disaster in Japan and set 2022 as the final deadline for shutting them down.

Jurors deliberated for five full days before finding Maxwell guilty of five of six counts.

Fully vaccinated people infected with the omicron variant of the novel coronavirus could end up with super immunity to the coronavirus, according to new research from Oregon Health & Science University. The video is just one example of many similar compilations circulating on the internet that use deceptive tactics to link vaccines to a supposed wave of deaths,

During the segment, Goldberg made arguments suggesting that God is fine with abortion. (snip) The host and famous actress seemed to invoke God to justify women choosing abortion, countering Hasselbeck’s pro-life points by saying that God gave women "freedom of choice." Goldberg also argued that Jesus Christ's teaching of, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," obliged her to not speak out against abortion lest she risk judging others.

The hellfire missiles that are said to have taken out Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, but not his family, are a newer generation of missiles that are high on precision and devoid of explosives. The AGM 14 R9X missile, made by Lockheed Martin, can be fired from, in Zawahiri’s case, a Reaper drone as well as other platforms. It can be fired from 600 miles away. Because its payload is tungsten and not packed explosives, this version of the hellfire doesn’t have the accompanying explosion– unless it hits, for instance, a full gas tank in a car. The R9X is called a Ninja because of the six blades deployed during flight
