Congressional liberals press Biden to

Liberals in Congress are pressing President Joe Biden to invoke emergency powers to push ahead with Democrats' climate change agenda and to put new restrictions on fossil fuels, even while gasoline remains at its highest per-gallon price on record. With legislation stalled in Congress, the nearly 100-member Congressional Progressive Caucus released a slate of policy recommendations Thursday for Biden to pursue, calling on him to use executive action to deal with a list of topics his "Build Back Better" agenda sought to address, including the development of more green energy technologies and placement of restrictions on new fossil fuel production.

Comments:

Calling COVID an "emergency" was just the beginning. From now on, every issue they prioritize will become an 'emergency.' January 6th? Systemic Racism? Climate change? Abortion rights? Gun control? Pro Election fraud laws? They'll all be labeled as emergencies.

Lets just finish destroying the US economy on purpose in the name of a special interest groups fanatical obsession with a theory that cannot be proven about the climate changing. Turn control of the US economy over to the crazies and let them run our country into the ground.

If they do that it's going to be a shooting war! There aren't enough electric cars. there isn't sufficient electrical grid to charge them. On top of that, the plants generating the electricity burn fossil fuels that might as well go to gas for cars. We all need transportation, of which 99.9% is powered by fossil fuels, to get to work to get to food sources to grow crops - you name it. If Biden and company try to shut down the economy any further, there will be blood spilled, and I advise everyone who is shooting to look first to the people behind Biden and company - the Soros' the WEF members, because he's dancing on their string. Nothing is stopping all of the Democrat greenies in Congress from personally stopping using all fossil fuels immediately as an example of their firm commitment to stopping "global warming". They can give up their big houses, expensive cars & limos, fancy clothes, and flying on jets all over the place. Why wait for Congressional action or Biden to take actions. Take responsibility for global warming upon yourself and set an example for everyone else for how they want us to live. They can wear sackcloths or only wear used clothing from Goodwill (recycling!). Move into tiny homes with wind and solar power built really close together in the city so they can bike or walk everywhere. Former President Donald Trump is effectively ruling out tapping former Vice President Mike Pence as his running mate should he mount a third White House bid in 2024 and win the Republican nomination. “I don’t think the people would accept it,” Trump told the Washington Examiner Tuesday evening during a wide-ranging telephone interview from Mar-a-Lago, his private social club and political headquarters in Palm Beach, Florida. The former president cited friction stemming from the aftermath of the 2020 election, suggesting their differences are too stark to overcome. Trump claimed the contest was stolen and wanted Pence to overturn the results during the congressional certification of President Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory.

Goldman Sachs slashed its U.S. growth forecast and is warning that a recession could occur after Russia invaded Ukraine. The financial services giant cut its forecast gross domestic product growth for the United States to 1.75% this year after previously forecasting a 2% increase in GDP. The downgrade comes as Russian forces continue their invasion of Ukraine, a war that has resulted in soaring energy prices and crippling sanctions for Moscow. “We now see the risk that the U.S. enters a recession during the next year as broadly in line with the 20-35% odds currently implied by models based on the slope of the yield curve,”

President Joe Biden's response to the Russia-Ukraine war has boosted his popularity, yet pollsters warn that the reprieve may be brief before November's midterm elections. The bloody conflict between Russia and Ukraine, half a world away, has created "a short-term bottom" for public opinion of Biden, according to Suffolk University pollster David Paleologos. "Prior to the State of the Union address, approval ratings in the high 30s were a regular occurrence," the Suffolk University Political Research Center director told the Washington Examiner. "Since the State of the Union, Biden's approval has settled into the low to mid-40s, suggesting a short-term bump."
