Maserati is planning to create an electric version of all of its super sports car models by 2025, and ax all gasoline engines by 2030-despite the sports' cars famous engine roar being one of the key reasons motoring enthusiasts buy them. The Italian sports car firm, which has fallen behind rivals Ferrari and Lamborghini in recent years, says it will offer an electric version of all its cars by 2025-and plans to scrap gasoline engines entirely by 2030. 'That's the landing spot,' Maserati CEO Davide Grasso said of the eight-year project. 'It will affect different parts of the world with a different type of speed, depending

Unless technology takes a light speed leap, all this virtue signaling is for naught because the world is not logistically ready for electric cars. Despite the lefts stubborn instance that it is, we are going to have to learn the hard way that wanting something is a far different thing than making it happen. I cannot believe people who run billion dollar companies suspend all logical thought to buy into this foolishness to such an extent.
There is a far darker agenda behind this illogical and unrealistic zeal to go forward with a world changing unproven technology. Just consider the impact this insanity will have on food production and distribution. Do we even have enough lithium or whatever it takes to make batteries? Is it in infinite supply just waiting to be extracted and then the question becomes what powers the equipment to extract it? Then how do you deal with the waste after it is used. If you think this through to its logical conclusion, life will be infinitely more difficult, people will starve because of lost production and delivery. The poor will suffer the most. Our standard of living will be exponentially diminished, there will not be enough clean energy to keep us warm and cool. Life is going to be a dystopian nightmare not because circumstances forced it upon us, but because arrogant elites in their sanctimony forced us to suspend rational thought to believe this boondoggle is going to produce anything other than pain and suffering for the vast majority of humans on this planet. We are being forced to accept an unproven and unrealized technology to appease individuals who have lost the ability to think critically.
Where is the scientific community on this? They, more than any other know this is not going to work. Going forward with this absurd zealotry is the epitome of irresponsible denial of basic truth. Where are the sane voices that will inject some basic truths into this conversation? Are we actually going to allow these crazy zealots to go forward with this nonsense with absolutely no objection? Ultimately, we are being set up for a means of massive population control. The only thing this pie in the sky technology will do for certain is produce misery and starvation which leads me to believe that that is a feature and not a bug. These climate zealots present a real danger to human survival all in the name of saving the planet. Yeah, right.

Mas has always been a 3rd (or 4th) tier Italian anyhow. Poor quality from paint to interior and a nit of a hangar queen mechanically. Marginally above Fiat.

Maserati is a brand that is marketed to the wealthiest elite, who use it to flaunt their wealth. It only makes sense that if Maserati's customers drive those cars as a form of social signal and now wish to drive electric cars also as a social signal then Maserati will need to make electric cars. Rolls and Bentley should take heed.

While I intensely dislike the left's effort to force coal-powered cars on us for daily drivers, I think this is a good move. Maseratis are not daily drivers. Heck, they probably only get driven around a few miles on the weekend for owners to show off their wealth to a friend. But have you seen the acceleration of an electric car, particularly the high end Teslas? The acceleration is off the charts and the acceleration curve is relatively flat. Very nice.

These green weenies have no idea about EV's...just this morning on the local news, the Chief of Police says the department will be ALL electric...have to wait and see how that pans out....'911 what is you emergency? Ok, we'll have a car come as soon as it gets finished with it's charge up.''...God help us...

Since Maserati can't make an ICE engine that's reliable, they can't make it any worse by going electric. I'll be surprised if the company still exists by 2030.

The only way that happens is with Russian Zinc and Russian Nickel.
EV's have 13 critical minerals that follow 13 different supply chains through 60 countries. Half of them go through Russia.
The Sanctions against Russia will hurt EV's much worse than gasoline vehicles.

From what I understand Maserati is just a more expensive Fiat. Neither car is very reliable, and I've spoken to a lot of people who have owned them and people who know cars. Beside the electrical issues there are also issues with oil leaks and just the general build quality of the car to hold up over time. The general consensus is that they are good cars for a short period of time.

Don’t count on batteries to be made from Russian minerals like nickel and zinc. Their time would be better spent to get their engines to run on air because that’s all they’ll be left with if they stop manufacturing internal combustion engines.

Saw an electric Mustang recently. I said, "What about the vroom, vroom?" The guy said, well you can get the sound artificially if you like that. Like the click of the electronic turn signal. Sigh.

I sometimes watch those car auctions on cable, and the used Maseratis go cheap.
And now I know why.

I believe functional, practical electric cars are at least one more significant leap in battery technology away, which may or may not happen, but the real killer is where does the capacity come from to charge the number of cars/trucks that would be required for a complete shift to electric? The leftards are against nuclear, which is the only technology that might possibly grow into it. So I guess it's the elites like Soros and Schwab and maybe their second-tier bumboys like Turdo who will be driving and the rest of us will be walking in the ditches.

Eventually we'll all be forced to drive coal-powered cars with remote kill switches, especially when they shut down all the gas stations because the vapors and occasional leaks are hazardous to the environment.
