Russian President Vladimir Putin’s open threat to use nuclear weapons against NATO allies supporting Ukraine appears to European officials to be a watershed in high-stakes brinkmanship which could foreshadow a new level of carnage in Ukraine.
The threat is, first, sign of “desperation and frustration by Putin,” a European official whose country emerged from behind the Iron Curtain after the fall of the Soviet Union told the Washington Examiner. "And secondly, as psychological pressure to the West before his major escalation in Ukraine (most likely in the coming days).”

Everything is racist nowadays. Bike helmets are vestiges of Jim Crow, at least according to the city of Seattle. Who knew? I suppose swimming pools are racist too if one considers the hazards for sinking among certain, shall we say, racial demographics. I will await the defund public pools movement.
Donald Trump is racist. His supporters are racist. The Canadian trucker convoy is racist. And now, add the concept of freedom to the list. Yes, freedom is racist. Quick, someone tell Harriet Tubman! That bigoted woman transported tons of racism across the Ohio River.

The weird thing about Utah is that while its patriotic, conservative citizens will elect winners like the ever-amusing Orrin Hatch, they are also suckers for prissy invertebrates like Mitt Romney. And now Evan McMullin, the slightly less-lumpy doppelgänger of Brian Stelter (who is a potato), has taken a break from dodging his creditors from his last Toobin Zoom call of a presidential campaign to enter the Utah Senate race against conservative stalwart Senator Mike Lee. McMuffin has got the full backing of the Lincoln Project types, though it might be a hassle campaigning when his biggest supporters can’t come within 1000 feet of a middle school.

Russia will hold a major nuclear exercise involving wide-ranging missile drills tomorrow including around Crimea and the Black Sea that will include launching ballistic and cruise missiles, the Kremlin has announced.
The exercise, which will be overseen by Vladimir Putin himself, will involve Russia's aerospace forces, its strategic missile command, Northern and Black Sea fleets and the Southern Military District - which covers Crimea and part of the border close to rebel-held areas in Ukraine.
It is designed to test the 'readiness' of commanders and troops as well as 'the reliability of weapons of strategic nuclear and non-nuclear forces'

President Joe Biden's sliding popularity has caused Democrats in competitive elections this November to distance themselves from their party's standard-bearer.
But Biden's approval problems could hamstring his own political aspirations, with polls indicating that Democrats would prefer another nominee on the ballot in 2024.
Two polls finding that Democrats support usurping Biden as their party's leader reflect "unhappiness" with the president's job so far, according to Democratic strategist Stefan Hankin.

As talks over a return to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal continue, Congress is upping scrutiny of President Joe Biden’s efforts to forge an agreement with Tehran that some argue needs provisions that extend for longer and stronger terms to contain the regime’s malign regional activity.
Twice last week, Biden’s envoy on Iran appeared in private hearings before Congress, a ratcheting up of pressure that points to fissures inside the Democratic Party over the policy.

As buzz builds about who will push for the 2024 presidency in both major parties, one of the most unlikely names continues popping up in the news.
Hillary Clinton is making headlines as she sets up speaking engagements, shows up to campaign events, and sells merchandise poking fun at onetime rival Donald Trump. The former first lady, New York senator, secretary of state, and defeated 2016 Democratic nominee is back in the spotlight as President Joe Biden stumbles.

New Mexico could become the latest state to take a hard look at financial questions swirling around Black Lives Matter.
The state's top lawman, Democratic Attorney General Hector Balderas, vowed to go after any charity that takes advantage of donors, and his spokeswoman said the office is working on "securing compliance" with the social justice charity. "Our office will investigate and pursue action against any charitable organization that refuses to comply with reporting requirements, or that takes advantage of donors," said Jerri Mares, a spokeswoman for Balderas's office.

When Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer retirement was leaked by leftist activists in order to force the issue, President Biden was immediately confronted by demands to honor his pledge during the 2020 presidential campaign to appoint a black female to his first vacancy on the Supreme Court. When Republicans objected that this race and gender litmus test is unconstitutional, many of the Left replied that Biden is simply doing what Ronald Reagan did when he promised to appoint a woman to the court and later appointed Sandra Day O’Connor to the court in 1981. If one follows leftist “logic,” if Reagan violated the constitution, we can too.

A top Republican who was censored and temporarily suspended by Twitter for controversial statements about a transgender government official said the platform dealt with him in a contradictory manner and unfairly targeted him as a conservative.
Republican Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana had his official Twitter account temporarily suspended for a few weeks in October for allegedly misgendering Department of Health and Human Services assistant secretary for health Rachel Levine, who is a transgender woman. According to a screenshot posted of the censored tweet, Banks said “the title of first female four-star officer gets taken by a man,”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Attorney General Ashley Moody filed an amended complaint saying the Biden administration’s latest immigration policy is unlawful.
The new policy, called "Parole + Alternatives to Detention," releases illegal immigrants within the borders of the United States without starting a legal process for removal. The complaint states that federal immigration officials are assisting migrants in resettling around the country and that the Transportation Security Administration is “accepting immigration arrest warrants as identification sufficient to board a domestic flight.”
“The Biden administration has not only consciously refused to enforce immigration laws, but it has also developed an operation to secretly resettle illegal aliens into communities across Florida

Generally speaking, I am not a fan of polls. For one, I’ve never been polled by anyone. For another, the number of people being polled often strikes me as too small a sample from which to draw broad conclusions. Also, those samples more often than not tend to oversample one group, Democrats, let’s say, over another group, which again leads to questions of accuracy.
Bottom line, I don’t trust ‘em and tend to ignore them in preference to the only poll that actually counts, the election itself.
I’ve often asked myself, what would I do if I were to be contacted to participate in a poll.
Comments:
Whatever the left says, just reverse it, and then you have the truth. Outrageous.
