Irving, Texas—Democratic candidate for governor Beto O’Rourke is looking for ways to close a persistent gap in the polls with Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, backing off his far-left stance on border security, gun ownership and other hot-button issues.
The O’Rourke pivot is a glaring bid to turn out the party’s more moderate base and win over independent voters in the conservative state.(Snip)Polling shows Mr. O’Rourke consistently lagging behind Mr. Abbott, though only by single digits, leading some analysts to predict a close race. Since announcing his candidacy in November, Mr. O’Rourke has shifted his position on key issues, including gun rights, border security and school curricula.

Beto can look for ways to beat Abbott until the cows come home but he will fail because he looks and acts like a moron. He needs to get a real job that pays a salary and stop waving his hands all around like someone with a nervous disorder. Say goodbye...Beto.

Beto, Beto, Beto! From your past, we know your actions, statements, etc., etc. Regardless of what you say, your past statements and doings speak so loudly, we can not hear what you're saying!!

He is not moving to the right. He is still a Socialist pig and is saying whatever he thinks the voters want him to say. IF he wins, they will find out quickly enough that he is the same old Beto who lied to them to get elected. Please don't fall for it!!!

Beto is a pivot man. Unfortunately that doesn't help him in political success.

There is a difference between shifting to the right and simply lying to try and get elected.

Ol Beto got to that part of the Demo playbook. Run as far right as the rubes will believe. On the day after election day, you move back left. Except for the most rabid leftist, all the Dems know the drill.

Francis O'rourke will lose in a humiliating fashion, but he's all the Left have in TX, based solely on name recognition. Talking to the center will do him no good. The Internet is forever!

I think everyone is underestimating the stupidity of the people on the left and the independents. And the every burgeoning ability of the left to rig elections.
The right wing pundits keep crowing about the upcoming red wave. What has changed to make sure that the voting machines don't move thousands of ballots from one candidate or another as happened in Antrim county Michigan?
Why shouldn't we expect the vote count to be stopped in large cites, the observers sent home followed by huge boxes of ballots appearing from under covered tables and through the loading dock from large out of state trucks and the vote continuing to change despite the count being stopped?
What about the dead rising and the people voting who have not voted in years suddenly voting. And contrary to their previous party affiliations? Thousands of mail in ballots in stuffed boxes? Thousands of mail-in ballots from the "wrong" neighborhoods ending up in ditches and land fills?
And the Republicans sitting and watching with stupid looks on their faces as a vote count massively in their favor suddenly swinging to their opponents by a few thousand votes?
And Republican legislatures and attorney generals and governors imitating Sergeant Schultz and proclaiming "I see nutting", I hear nutting". Covering their eyes and crying "I see no evidence of vote fraud".

Beto, you may want to avoid the shameless, phony JFK / Bobby Kennedy-comparison shtick. It's pathetic, and look how they ended up.

How much homosexual lobby money will be needed to force a homosexual man with a homosexual "bride" onto this country like as if he was a governor.

If Dominion doesn't work for Beto he has no chance. Maybe he can make up the difference with ballot midnight to 3am ballot drops, granny harvesting, dead people voting multiple times and of course non citizen voting should do the trick.

Bevis O'Dork is like a leopard who is trying his damndest to change his spots....
He ran against Ted Cruz with over $80 million dollars of virtually all of OUT OF STATE MONEY and lost by well over 300,000 votes, ran for the demonrat socialist marxist nomination for President and LOST to a doddering dementia candidate, so he is now trying a different tactic thinking he can fool people
Perhaps he is attempting to gather up all the "new" Texans who have moved to the state who he thinks he can fool into giving up their blessings for being Texans for a bowl of steaming crap
Greg Abbott will take him out handily if the also rans like Lt. Col Allen B. West who got 12%, Don Huffines who got 8%, and Chad Prather who got 6% will stop dividing up the Republican party like spoiled children who didn't get what they wanted are going scorched earth. Wendy "Abortion Barbie" Davis got wallped by Governor Abbott and then Rep. Chip Roy took her out because the influx of so-called liberals from other states didn't buy her campaign issues either.
Beto's image is cemented on publically denying what he truly believes and LYING about it as a matter of a campaign to deceive the people to get in office.
As a previous poster said, he is a FAKE Mexican and a real pendejo and many women of South Texas aren't buying his game and are turning Republican

Maybe he's being advised by George Dubya Bush. Run to the right, but have every intention of governing to the left, including leaving the border wide-open and imposing deep control over schools (see No Child Left Behind).
