President Biden’s surgeon general on Thursday formally requested that the major tech platforms submit information about the scale of Covid-19 misinformation on social networks, search engines, crowdsourced platforms, e-commerce platforms and instant messaging systems. A request for information from the surgeon general’s office demanded that tech platforms send data and analysis on the prevalence of Covid-19 misinformation on their sites, starting with common examples of vaccine misinformation documented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The notice asks the companies to submit “exactly how many users saw or may have been exposed to instances of Covid-19 misinformation,” as well as aggregate data on demographics

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dared Russia’s leader to meet with him Thursday, saying that “I don’t bite” — as Vladimir Putin vowed to continue his deadly invasion of Ukraine and claimed his soldiers were acting “like real heroes.”During a news conference in Ukraine’s capital city, Kyiv, Zelensky repeatedly taunted Putin, even mocking the Russian president’s penchant for conducting meetings at the opposite ends of extremely long tables.“Sit down with me to negotiate, just not at 30 meters,” Zelensky said.“I don’t bite. The world is facing its biggest political/military crisis since the end of the Cold War, and for better or worse, the leadership of its largest countries has serious problems. Probably for worse.
Russia’s leader, Vladimir Putin, seems angry and out of touch. Putin clearly expected the invasion of Ukraine to be a walkover. A translation of the public statement intended for Feb. 26, declaring victory in Ukraine, reveals his thinking to be both grandiose and unrealistic.
Putin used to be a secret policeman, a trade in which accurate information is important. But in his many years at the top,

Someone should tell Joe Biden’s Chief of Staff, Ron Klain, who falsely claimed 78% of American voters approved of President Biden’s State of the Union address Tuesday night, that Biden’s address garnered the lowest ratings for a president’s first official State of the Union address in 30 years.
“More than 38 million Americans tuned in to President Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, the lowest viewing figures for a commander-in-chief’s first SOTU in at least 30 years,” the New York Post reported. “According to Nielsen Media Research, approximately 27.4 million households watched Biden’s hour-long address live on 16 different networks for a 22.4 rating.”

The Democrats will suffer historic losses in the November midterms.
This disaster for their party will come about not just because of the Afghanistan debacle, an appeased Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the destruction of the southern border, the supply chain mess, or their support for critical race theory demagoguery.
The culprit for the political wipeout will be out-of-control inflation—and for several reasons.
First, the Biden Administration is in such denial of inflation that it sounds to Americans simply callous and indifferent to the misery it has unleashed.
Biden officials have scoffed at price spikes as “transitory.” Or they have preposterously claimed spiraling costs are a .

Hawaiians, more than residents of any other state, will likely see higher gasoline and energy costs due to Russia's Ukraine war and the resulting soaring oil prices. “Isolated by the Pacific Ocean, Hawaii is the most petroleum-dependent U.S. state,” notes the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Overall, the U.S. consumes very little Russian oil. We listened carefully to President Joe Biden’s Tuesday night State of the Union speech for what he plans to do about our growing inflation disaster. We were not impressed. Apart from paying lip service to inflation’s impact on working families, Biden’s proposals will, if anything, make the problem far worse.
Biden’s senatorial career goes all the way back to 1973 — by coincidence, the very beginning of the 1970s stagflation, marked by soaring energy prices, roaring inflation, falling real wages, rising unemployment and a dramatic decline in productivity.

Gas prices have been going up since Joe Biden began cutting off energy sources in the name of global warming Leftism on his first day of office. Now, a year later, Bidenflation has taken hold, Russia has attacked Ukraine, and the price of a barrel of oil on Wednesday stood at a gasp-inducing $112/barrel. We’re looking at gas prices close to $7.00/gallon.
Just four months ago, Don Lemon the rest of his CNN buddies waxed rhapsodic over Joe Biden for an eight-cent drop in gas prices. Now, as prices skyrocket, Joe Biden’s getting the blame, too.

Authorities removed a JetBlue pilot from the cockpit on Wednesday who had a blood alcohol level four times over the legal limit.
The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority said that a Transportation Security Administration officer noticed that James Clifton, 54, appeared to be intoxicated when passing through security at Buffalo Niagara International Airport, according to a statement obtained by CBS News.
Clifton was later removed from the cockpit by airport police and administered a breathalyzer test which registered as a 0.17 blood alcohol level, over four times the legal limit to fly of 0.04 set by the Federal Aviation Administration.

In an attempt to stop using a name that some deemed derogatory, the ‘gypsy moth’ is no more and officials have determined a new name for the insect. The Entomological Society of America (ESA) announced that the new name has been selected for the moth species Lymantria dispar. It was voted unanimously to approve the addition of ‘spongy moth’ to ESA’s common names of insects and related organisms list. This completes a process that reportedly started back in July 2021. ‘Gypsy moth’ was removed from the list because officials determined that it was a derogatory term for the Romani people.

For a law that was supposed to trample minority voting rights, Texas minority candidates did rather well in the Texas primary.

A former Chicago Park District Attorney is seeking damages from Mayor Lori Lightfoot after an obscene, insulting rant against the attorney and the Chicago Italian-American community came to light. The Park District was responsible for the statue of Christopher Columbus in Arrigo Park that Lightfoot had ordered removed during protests in 2020. The statue wasn’t displayed in the Chicago parade but did make an appearance at a suburban event.

I was going to write about President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, but it was too tedious to inspire a response and devoid of even one semi-interesting idea. What could I write?
Even the references to the Ukraine war were more confused than enlightening, such as the mind-boggling gaffe, “Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he’ll never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people.”
Our president’s destruction of the American energy independence gained by his predecessor that many think opened the door for the current war was, of course, not mentioned. (snip)

It is difficult to overstate just how out of touch Democrats are with reality right now. When you’re as unpopular as they are it makes sense – you can’t admit reality, it’s too depressing, so you create a new one in your head. That’s a survival mechanism everyone has employed, to one degree or another, and at some point in their lives for short periods, and it’s perfectly normal. What isn’t normal is how Democrats have constructed this fantasy world and appear to live in it all the time.

It’s hard to keep up with what we’re allowed to think, say, and do. What’s a woman? If we are supposed to believe all women, but sex and gender are merely social constructs, do we have to believe everyone? If women have rights, why do unborn women not? If women are oppressed, why do male athletes keep turning into them? If the patriarchy is real and evil, why do women want to join it? If you’re a willing participant in the patriarchy, as opposed to someone who just happened into it, does that make you worse? If you’re a transgender male, do you hate yourself for being in the patriarchy?

In recent years, a number of parents and grandparents have discovered an alarming trend: children no longer know how to write in cursive.
Such a discovery led to a considerable backlash against programs such as Common Core, which many viewed as the culprit squeezing out cursive instruction. Thanks to increased attention on the subject, many states have implemented laws mandating that cursive be taught in school.
But what happens when children begin to learn cursive and can’t hold their pencil properly?
Amazingly, this is the growing reality in a number of countries. The Guardian explains:

I have no doubt that both sides are willing to make it a long war. Zelensky and his people have proved they’re willing to die for their freedom. Putin has gambled his legacy on subjugating Ukraine. Neither will blink. Which has the makings of a very long war indeed:
Given the durability of the Ukrainian resistance and its long history of pushing Russia back, the U.S. and Western powers do not believe that this will be a short war. The U.K. foreign secretary estimated it would be a 10-year war. Lawmakers at the Capitol were told Monday it is likely to last 10, 15 or 20 years — and that ultimately,
