Hey kids, don’t be a maskhole! With the end of school mask mandates around the corner, the city’s elite private schools are warning students not to question or tease classmates over their face covering choices. Private schools introduced an optional mask policy for staffers and students Wednesday after Gov. Kathy Hochul officially scrapped the requirement. “Everything is so polarized and political these days,” said a parent at Manhattan’s Spence School. “There is more to this than just wearing or not wearing a mask. It’s seen as a reflection of the student and the parents’ views overall.”
Some administrators are getting in front of the issue and asking parents to talk

Seriously? Are parents in NY this stupid to give into people wearing the useless piece of paper/cloth on their faces?

My generation was a lot more fun. You were teased If you had a friend of the opposite sex. Pity the current classrooms where they only teach Marxism. Not much of a future I would say.

Let’s stop the show. Mask boxes are labeled that they do not stop virus.
From Quora.com

“The size of covid 19 is about 125nm (0.125 microns).”
From SafetyandHealthMagazine.com

“The “N95” classification means respirator filters remove at least 95% of “very small” particles (around 0.3 microns in diameter) from the air.”

Someone wrote in to my local paper, saying that because she and maybe 3% of people are "immuno-compromised," mask mandates should stay in place.

Oh No! The Dreaded Teasing! When I went to school it would happen on the School Yard during recess. You either ignored it or bopped the person teasing you. I was small, so I ignored!! But jeesh! Kids need to learn to fend for themselves. How else are they going to grow into adults who can take care of themselves instead of always complaining to someone and expecting them to take care of the problem?

The shoe is now on the other foot but it was bullying not teasing that was used to force compliance before.

Well, if children weren't goaded into making sweeping moral judgments about other people's incidental personal choices, maybe they wouldn't be reducing each other to social targets all the time.
To the progressive Left, the only thing that shouldn't be organic is human activity and the only thing that shouldn't be binary is gender ... complete repudiations of the world as it is. Everything is either/or.

School, public and private, has become so politically correct that it doesn’t reflect “real life”. Conflict, differing opinion, are described as “bullying”. Next, some good lib will come up with a required school course, how to disregard bullying, put it in perspective. This rather than just pointing out that the Bully is a “bad person”, to be feared and shunned. Most normal people learn this eventually, as part of life. My best course in disregarding bullies was Infantry Basic Training. Granted, that was in the 1960s, probably different now. A drill sergeant screaming in your face is good training in disregarding bullies. Eventually you realize that they are usually great guys.

Well, I certainly hope that they are. That sort of cowardice needs to be called out. Masks are a sign of submission and fear, not an actual protective device.

At a small party of about 75-100 guests there was only ONE adult wearing a mask. It was completely her choice. Her siblings declined the mask. So what? No Big Deal. Live and let live.

When teaching "The Golden Rule" in schools became too much like a prayer it was eliminated and apparently nothing replaced it.

You'd think that students could figure out for themselves the size of a virus vs the filtration size of a cloth mask. Viruses are measured in units called nanometers. As far as viruses go, the covid virus is on the smaller side, about 50 to 140 nm wide. The average N95 mask filters out particles 300nm. So, even using a N95 mask to avoid covid is like trying to hide from a swarm of hornets behind a chain link fence. It doesn't even slow them down.

When this all started I had admiration for those who refused the mandates and went maskless in stores.
Later, when people got tired of it and it stopped being enforced, I still had respect for those who did not comply.
Now that it is optional, I do not hate those who mask up, but neither do I respect them.

Most high-school kids are natural-born conformists (who wants to be different?). When the maskers become the shrinking minority, they’ll ditch their face diapers before long. When I told my class that mask mandates will end after March 11, there were cheers.

Just like old times. Remember when friends kept friends in check and prevented people from getting too weird? Those were the days.

Marxists fully endorse bullying of anyone who does not fully follow their ever-changing rules, to the point of having people fired from their jobs or otherwise cancelled. But when their lies unravel, in this case forcing people to wear masks that are proven to be ineffective at best, you're forbidden from calling them out on it in any way. And yet their PR is so good that they are known as the party of free speech and open-minded tolerance.
