In the early days of WWII, as Germany was pounding England in the Blitz, FDR sent supplies to our allies. He gave them U.S. Navy destroyers (small warships especially good for fighting submarines) and eventually dedicated our Atlantic fleet to defending convoys and firing on German U-boats. We were secretly at war with Germany. History refers to it as “belligerent neutrality.” U.S. citizens had no idea.
FDR deceived the American people. He campaigned for the 1940 election by saying he would keep the United States out of another European war. Smarter people than I can argue if it was the right thing to do.

As Russian President Vladimir Putin continues his unrelenting assault on Ukrainian citizens, committing war crimes through the use of cluster bombs and attacking nuclear sites in the country, President Joe Biden is headed home to Delaware for the weekend.
"In the evening, the President will travel to Wilmington, Delaware, where he will remain over the weekend," the White House daily schedule states.
Biden also went to Delaware last weekend for a family funeral. He has spent 35 weekends at home since taking office in January 2021.
Meanwhile, Congress is preparing an emergency package for Ukraine.
Under a Florida bill passed by the Senate, state agencies would be unable to start, continue, or renew contracts to work with companies that are found to transport undocumented workers to Florida. Senate Bill 1808 passed on partisan lines and heads to the Florida House for approval.
The bill also revises what Florida’s government considers a “sanctuary policy” and beefs up the requirements to work with United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Under the bill, as written, “common carrier” companies would be required to disclose to state agents if they transport undocumented immigrants, or “unauthorized aliens.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo held a press conference Thursday to stand up for the “traditional practice of medicine.”
The governor touted his fight against a range of COVID-19 mitigation tactics used widely across the nation — namely lock-downs, mask mandates, and vaccine requirements.
“People have lost their jobs over these policies,” DeSantis said.“People’s kids have lost access to education over these policies.”
He added there was more that needed to be done to protect Floridians against “threats to freedom.”

“I have a positive update about my wife Casey DeSantis,” he announced in a video on Twitter. “After going through both treatment and surgery for breast cancer, she is now considered cancer-free.”

Authorities removed a JetBlue pilot from the cockpit on Wednesday who had a blood alcohol level four times over the legal limit.
The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority said that a Transportation Security Administration officer noticed that James Clifton, 54, appeared to be intoxicated when passing through security at Buffalo Niagara International Airport, according to a statement obtained by CBS News.
Clifton was later removed from the cockpit by airport police and administered a breathalyzer test which registered as a 0.17 blood alcohol level, over four times the legal limit to fly of 0.04 set by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Joe Biden has had one of the most disastrous first years of a presidential term in US history. Yeah, Abraham Lincoln had the Civil War and George W. Bush had 9/11, but there’s a difference between events being forced on a president and a president causing events.
Biden managed to completely screw up the response to COVID despite being handed vaccines upon taking office. More people ended up dying on his watch than under the Trump administration. Then there are the foreign policy boondoggles, from Afghanistan to what’s currently happening with Russia. But if that wasn’t bad enough, Biden also turned the border into a humanitarian disaster.
