A top Russian general has been killed amid bitter fighting in Ukraine in what represents a major blow to the Russian invasion. Major General Andrey Sukhovetsky, who was the deputy commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army of Russia's Central Military District, died yesterday as Ukrainian defence forces repelled the Russian offensive. His death has not yet been officially confirmed by Russia's Ministry of Defence, but was announced on social media by his colleague Sergey Chipilyov and was widely reported by several Russian and Ukrainian news outlets.

From what I'm seeing, Russian soldiers were not briefed about the invasion, and were in fact lied to about it. And were unaware of it until they drove over Ukrainian borders. They were then expected to fight, I guess, with no given objectives or explanations of why they were invading.
Contrast that to our Army. Where everyone, EVERYONE, is fully briefed on the mission, its objectives, purpose, and justification.
So I wouldn't describe this dead guy as a "top" general. Going into battle with a completely in the dark, clueless rank and file is the mark of an imbecile.

Let's hope this is true. I have seen some photos of lots of armored vehicles burnt out, and some of them scattered in pieces. More of them in this article. If you set up an ambush, overwatch by snipers is a normal part of the design, from what I have read. Hit the general's track, he gets out and gets shot, could happen.
We'll eventually get all the facts, hard to sort out the details now. But those are real armored vehicles, really blown to pieces and burnt.

Sounds like this propaganda is working better with the Lucianne crowd than the COVID manipulation did. Refinement takes time and patience.

Been trying to compare this to battles the US participated in. The US lost 29000 troops at Normandy, and 4400 troops during the Iraq war. Not sure what I believe regarding Russian losses in Ukraine. Guess I am waiting to see if Russia actually wins this war, and how long it actually takes.

We hear of Ukrainian heroics, none witnessed, but we do witness the artillery leveling the city buildings to rubble by the Russians. The Russians are going slow with their occupation, because there is little in front of them but citizens.

Don’t believe it for a second. More media and Dem propaganda to fit their narrative. Biden’s handlers snookered Putin into this (offering NATO membership). Zelensky is no saint. (See trans pics) Ukraine is not a democracy. Zelensky closed down 3 networks because they were critical of him.

#9, We hear of Ukrainian heroics, but none seen?
I guess it was just unusually icy road conditions that have been keeping the Russians out of those cities for a week?

1, Correct. There are too many POWs that are repeating that they were told this was a peacekeeping mission only to face fierce organized defenses. Compound this with that they are being ordered to kill fellow Slavs, practically their neighbors. This would be like our Army being sent to attack Canada with no provocation. The ''de-nazification'' thing is so stupid it makes Baghdad Bob look like Edward R. Murrow.
Now, they have a three star General so close to the front he can be KIA by small arms. There must be such a breakdown in discipline and order that you have General officers getting involved at the level of Majors and Captains. It doesn't look like the ground is frozen, anymore, so heavy armor cannot move cross country. Xi's request to wait until after his Olympic games to attack has them doing so at the start of the spring thaw. It all looks like an absolute CF.
