AT&T is planning to spin off CNN and the rest of WarnerMedia in the coming months, at which point Discovery will merge with WarnerMedia, creating a new juggernaut of streaming and cable content. The final necessary step is a vote by Discovery shareholders. It is expected to take place in the coming weeks, and is regarded as a formality. The spin-off and merger is likely to take effect in April, according to executives with knowledge of the matter.

The last national poll tracked by RCP with a single-digit gap in Biden’s job approval came last week from the Economist/YouGov tracking poll (45/49). It's been nearly a week since CNN's top executive, Jeff Zucker, got the boot, supposedly over a longtime affair with a subordinate, and the bawling through the ranks hasn't stopped. Here's how bad it is, according to website Puck, apparently an industry-insider blog, spotted by Ace at Ace of Spades: Five days after Jeff Zucker‘s dramatic and still-stunning ouster from CNN, network insiders remain vexed by WarnerMedia C.E.O. Jason Kilar‘s refusal to elaborate about the circumstances that led to their former leader’s resignation. The COVID-19 Pandemic is now officially over. If you want to be specific, it has gone from ‘Pandemic’ to ‘Endemic’ but that’s not really a new thing when you think about it. The mainstream media would have you believe that COVID being in the ‘Endemic’ phase is a relatively new period. One that they’re not sure how to handle because, if they were to explain it to you, they fear they would lose control over the narrative. After all, endemic means ‘forever’. Sounds scary, but COVID has only been something to fear for those who allowed it to cause fear.

President Joe Biden’s administration is spending $30 million to distribute things like crack pipes to advance “racial equity” as part of a “Harm Reduction Plan.” The American Rescue Plan, which passed the Senate with a tie-breaking vote from Vice President Kamala Harris, provides the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) funding to carry out the multimillion-dollar grant program. The grant program references Biden’s executive order 13985 titled “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government” that he signed on his first day in office.

There’s no denying the influence various forms of media have on society. Sometimes the effect is benign, like the influence it has on what kind of toothpaste you buy, but sometimes it can have deleterious effects that alter the movement of history. Of course, in human things, pure objectivity may be a goal beyond our reach. Everything we write and read must have some element of bias. We come from particular intellectual traditions, after all, and we are informed by them. But shouldn’t a newspaper ostensibly designed for the mere purpose of delivering the news remain as objective as possible? Shouldn’t we be left guessing about
