Outgoing Democratic Rep. Jim Cooper of Tennessee sat down for an interview with a local newspaper on Tuesday to give his thoughts on upcoming elections and the future of the Democratic Party in his state. Cooper's predictions were far from optimistic, as he said that the party is "facing extinction" in Tennessee and claimed that Democrats have no strategy to appeal to rural voters. "As usual, Democrats are not alert to future dangers," Cooper lamented to the Nashville Scene.

I suppose you could just resort to calling everyone in the state who doesn't vote Democrat to be a racist or homophobe. That appears to be the national strategy.

They keep saying they have a messaging problem and that we just don't hear them. What they will not accept is that we hear their messaging LOUD AND CLEAR. We think they're morons and don't want the snake oil they're selling. Shows just how low their IQ's really are.

From what I heard on Newsmax last night, don't ever count the democrats out. They are bullying their way thru the congressional re-districting and the republicans are losing, from what they were saying. I saw a drawing of Nadler's district in New York and it looked like a writhing or drunk snake. And his isn't the only one. Pubbies had better get on board.

TN is fortunate it does not have any mega-cities that can obliterate the rest of the state with Democrat ballots (Like Illinois). Let's hope the trend continues.

Reply #5 is correct. Jim Cooper doesn't sound like a typical Democrat when he is talking to the local press. He is a friendly and outgoing chap when he is IN his district, but he dons his Absole suit of armor in Washington DC and there's not a dimes worth of difference between him and any other elected Democrat. One of his siblings is the current mayor of Nashville, and {full confession}, his father, Prentiss Cooper was the governor the year I was born so his signature is on mine and any other birth certificates issued during his term.

Comedian and actress Kathy Griffin claimed CNN president Jeff Zucker slashed her pay after she had asked for a raise as co-host of the network's New Year's Eve special. In a profile published Wednesday in The New York Times, Griffin recalled reaching out to Zucker 10 days before the broadcast in 2016 and told him she felt she deserved more than her $80,000 contract since "she was carrying more of the prep work" than her co-host, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. According to Griffin, Zucker "got very offended." "He started yelling at me and he literally said something like, ‘Who do you think you are calling here demanding a raise?’

Kyle Rittenhouse, in an unusual move for a defendant, took the witness stand Wednesday. He cried. His defense team then made a motion for a mistrial with prejudice, which means Rittenhouse couldn’t be retried. But whatever the court rules, he has already won. If Rittenhouse is convicted, he will likely stop being a right-wing mascot and become a right-wing martyr. If he isn’t convicted, he will set a precedent for others like him to pick up guns they shouldn’t have and thrust themselves into the middle of unrest they should avoid — confident in knowing that prison won’t be in their future.

As the midterm 2022 elections approach, the expectation is that, with thirty Democrat House retirements and the continued unraveling of the Biden Administration, the Dems are about to experience historic losses in both the House and Senate. However, the evil geniuses within the Democrat party have identified the Fourteenth Amendment as a vehicle to thwart Republican dreams of achieving a massive political realignment. Therefore, it may be shortsighted to count the one-time party of Jefferson as down-and-out until the last glimmering frenzy has been extinguished. In 1868, the Fourteenth Amendment was amended to add Section 3, also known as the Disqualification Clause.
