There’s no denying the influence various forms of media have on society. Sometimes the effect is benign, like the influence it has on what kind of toothpaste you buy, but sometimes it can have deleterious effects that alter the movement of history. Of course, in human things, pure objectivity may be a goal beyond our reach. Everything we write and read must have some element of bias. We come from particular intellectual traditions, after all, and we are informed by them. But shouldn’t a newspaper ostensibly designed for the mere purpose of delivering the news remain as objective as possible? Shouldn’t we be left guessing about

"Dismantling the narrative machine" means putting the 90% useless mainstream media out of business. Canceling my subscription in 2020 to our local version of the NYT, the Tampa Bay Times, and staying away from that fishwrap since then represents my small part. But much remains to be done.

The Biden administration is putting out new details on its effort to create 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations–with new efforts to push out funds to have them line interstates at 50-mile intervals. The administration is awarding $5 billion over five years to states to have them build thousands of electric vehicle charging stations. Another $2.5 billion will go out in grants to be decided later. Earlier this week, U.S. Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger released a statement in response to a complaint from Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), who says the USCP illegally entered his office, took photos, and later interrogated his staff. According to Manger, “The weekend before Thanksgiving, one of our vigilant officers spotted the Congressman’s door was wide open.” As such, Manger said it is the responsibility of the USCP to document the incident and secure the office.
