Despite Governor Glenn Youngkin issuing a mandate to schools around the state to not enforce mask mandates on children, the Frederick County (Virginia) Public School decided to continue illegally upholding the mandate. Now they’re paying for their hubris as parents are taking the fight to the school board.
Footage from a recent school board meeting showed that parents meant business. As the meeting was set to wrap up, a man approached the dais where the school board sat and began handing out subpoenas. With the understanding of what was happening dawning on them, the school board members attempted to gather their things and leave but the parents weren’t having it.

You know what would solve this? Do away with public schools. Let parents get a tax credit on their federal income taxes for sending their kids to private schools and leave everyone else alone.

If dems ever let us have another election and repubs win the first thing we should do is close ALL kinds of departments starting with the Dept of Ed, DOJ, FBI and MANY others.

I wonder how much under-the-table Soros money has been slipped to these school board tyrants around the country... His foundation has at least $32 billion to spend on undermining freedom around the world. That's 32 thousand million dollars. Once they take his money he owns them.

My SIL, a retired teacher is now working on getting the school board in her Georgia town sorted out. She tells me "they are now scared of me".
That is FUN. Replace them ALL. Fire them. Put in GOOD people, take back the schools from these horrible, lunatic, hateful leftists.

Good for these parents! Do not give an inch. Keep the pressure on. What I cannot understand though are these petty tyrants who are unwilling to listen to scientists and doctors who say masking children is not a good idea and is actually very bad for their mental and physical health. If school boards are mandating masks in order to receive federal funding, it is appalling to think that they would put children at risk in order to get the money. It seems in this climate of government overreach it always comes down to money. Democrats certainly understand human nature because apparently they know individuals will do anything in order to keep the cash flowing to them. Clearly, the lack of integrity on the part of some people in this country is the driving force behind all this oppression. Soros and others like him know they can control people with money and they are more than willing to use it to achieve their goals.

1) School board is a generally thankless job and was intended to be a community spirit endeavor, ideally with locals rotating through. As with all institutions, even the smallest, leftists saw it as a vehicle for corruption and propaganda including mutual back-scratching with unions.
As covid has shown, many board members were previously unknown to parents and seemed to have been parachuted in from parts unknown.

They took the bribes, now they are expected to deliver the goods. A bunch of pesky parents could force them to have...accidents.

Frederick County is right next door and just west of Loudoun County. It’s more conservative than Loudoun so I’m a bit surprised to see the mask Nazis on the school board there.
It should be easy enough to find the fleeing cowards where they live and work and serve them the subpoenas at either place. It’s looking like the only way we can win this war is by fighting by the demonrat rules. Time to start doxxing the board members. A few large protests in front of their homes should get them to change their minds.

This will soon be a moot issue. The State Senate just passed legislation codifying Youngkin's mandate and it will easily pass in the House. Defying a governor's EO is one thing, but a state law passed by the legislature is something else. The libtards on the school boards have met their match.

Does it seem to anyone else that the World is on Fire since Biden took over? Seeing a 78 year old man dragged to the ground and Bloodied just because he tooted his Horn for the Truckers who are Rallying there! School Boards that are having knock down, drag out battles with Parents who are now "WOKE" themselves as to what the heck the School Boards are doing to their Children (Critical Race, Masking mandates by the School Board against the Governor's Orders)! States fighting to get rid of the Fraud from the Last Election brought on by Illegal regulations by people who really had no say in ordering those changes that allowed the FRAUD! The Border Mess! Allowing Millions of Illegals to just walk in to our country, then get flown all over to States that have to put them put them up in Hotels, feed them, educate their Children and provide Health Care and Food Stamps to them. Our country is on FIRE! Anyone remember how calm and orderly this country ran when TRUMP was in Charge. Like his Tweets or not. He righted our Ship and was on the way to making our country the Best it had ever been. Then Biden took charge and look where we are today! Shame!

Thank you Poster #1.
I've been posting that exact idea on this forum - - over and over again - - almost since the day this forum began.
I'm glad at least one fellow spirit has joined here - - in the past two decades.

The power is with the people but sometimes they need to be reminded of that. Replace the entire school board for defying the governor.

They are NOT “public” schools. They are GOVERNMENT schools. The only role the public plays in government schools is to supply the money and shut the hell up. I agreed with #1. Close them. Permanently.

I was fairly involved in my own local grade school board meetings (not as a Board member but as a taxpayer/observer and often a time-limited speaker) and I can tell you right out --- it was a soul-crushing experience.
Most of the BOE members had students in the school and feared doing anything that might upset the teacher's and/or their union. They basically rubber-stamped everything because they didn't want their own kids getting screwed. Every proposal --- no matter how obviously dumb and benefiting the teachers over students --- was passed & usually by a unanimous vote with little discussion. And no mind was paid to cost whatsoever!
The local high school was even worse as one of the 5 BOE members was a teacher (!) and union leader.
The choke-hold the UFT has on our educational system is criminal.

They want you be involved until you get involved. And question them. You are then designated a " domestic terrorist " by our justice department.

I absolutely agree with post #1...give parents the school vouchers so they can chose what schools to send their kids to...I paid a heavy price for private schools in Chicago when the government decided to bus my very white children one hour away into a crime infested neighborhood...instead of half a block from their neighborhood school...fourty some years ago...$50,000 dollars was a big price to pay...but my children turned out great professionals and happily married...so it was worth the price...Christian schools taught them not only reading writing and arithmetic ..it taught them American values...

As a former resident before moving back to Texas, fact that this occurred in Frederick County surprises me the most. In 2008, I saw how the Northern Virginia counties of Fairfax, Arlington, and Loudoun going strong for Obama, so I read the tea leaves a dozen years ago and fled Virginia. Even then, Winchester, the county seat and a town rich in Revolutionary and Civil War history, was still predominately conservative. That's why I moved there from Fairfax County in the early 2000s, tripling my commute distance and quadrupling my commute time. It was well worth it at the time. I have to conclude that instead of conservatives waking up one morning finding themselves newly minted socialists, or worse, the Obama-planned influx of "new citizens" into the already over-populated suburbs of Fairfax and Arlington Counties pushed ever westward, where home prices were once more affordable and the school system still taught the 3 Rs. I feel bad for the many fine friends and neighbors I had there who are dealing with the fall-out.
