A White House official warned reporters to not even “think about” asking President Joe Biden questions as the president began a round table event at the White House on Wednesday.Biden was meeting with CEOs of energy companies in an effort to push his Build Back Better agenda, which is dead in the water in Congress. Reporters began shouting questions to Biden as he concluded his opening remarks and staffers began herding the press corps out of the room. White House pool reporters say one aide was concerned Biden would start taking questions. The aide warned a reporter, who was lingering in the room.“Don’t think about it, Matt,” she said,

Wow. That warning would have spurred me on to ask a question. The press corps are there for one thing, spread the party line propaganda. Asking a hard question will get you in all kinds of trouble. Remember what President Trump and his press secretaries put up with? It was verbal war every single day. Now something is said and that’s it. No discussion. No questions. It is the very picture of a free press in action.

It all comes from the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan that was enacted late last year and that the administration continues to sell, amid the collapse of Biden's Build Back Better plan.
