COLLEYVILLE, Texas — Hostages who had been held for hours inside a Texas synagogue were rescued Saturday night, according to Gov. Greg Abbott, bringing an end to a standoff that had lasted nearly 12 hours. “Prayers answered. All hostages are out alive and safe,” Abbott tweeted. Abbott’s tweet came not long after a loud bang and what sounded like gunfire was heard coming from the synagogue, where authorities said a man had held people captive as he demanded the release of a Pakistani neuroscientist who was convicted of trying to kill U.S. Army officers in Afghanistan.

But 12 months into his presidency, many describe a coalition in crisis. Leading voices across Biden’s diverse political base openly decry the slow pace of progress on key campaign promises. The frustration was especially pronounced this past week after Biden’s push for voting rights legislation effectively stalled, intensifying concerns in his party that fundamental democratic principles are at risk and reinforcing a broader sense that the president is faltering at a moment of historic consequence.

Nick Searcy was at the huge Trump rally on Jan. 6, 2021, in Washington, D.C., and was so unnerved and shaken by what he saw that day that he made a movie about it. The actor/producer/director’s movie, Capitol Punishment, is the most complete story about that day and its aftermath that anyone has attempted to date. It’s a must-watch, even if you think you know all there is to know about that day. Searcy is here to say that you don’t. He says it with a knowing wink and a rueful laugh.

President Joe Biden will be in the hot seat next Wednesday during his first official press conference since March 2021, as Americans are demanding answers on numerous policy fronts. “[W]e look forward to seeing you there and to — the President looks forward to speaking directly to the American people,” Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Friday. While Biden sometimes takes questions from journalists, he typically walks off the stage in hopes to avoid any scrutiny from the media. The timing of the press conference is a laughable move from the White House. Biden has been dealt his worst week since the Afghanistan disaster,

The Democrat Party’s histrionic meltdown continues over the Supreme Court’s Thursday ruling against Joe Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate — testing “requirement” — aimed at large businesses. Among Democrats eager to exploit the ruling was erstwhile failed Democrat presidential candidate and former DNC head, Howard Dean, who refuses to accept his irrelevancy and go away, choosing instead to rear his ridiculous head every once in a while, only to make an utter fool out of himself. Again. To be sure, has-been Howard Dean is as irrelevant as Michael Moore’s fitness trainer, but his lunacy in response to the SCOTUS decision not only illustrates the latest liberal meltdown,

“He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.” One of Adolf Hitler’s biggest goals was to brainwash the youth into being loyal little Hitlerites because he knew if he could have them in body, mind, and spirit, then the future was secure. His loyal children would grow into loyal supporters of the state. They would live, work, breed, fight, and die for him and his power. It’s the goal of all tyrants. Joseph Stalin knew it and he too attempted to secure the youth. The Kim family has been controlling the thoughts of the youth for ages.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki claimed Friday that President Biden didn’t intend to offend senators by likening them to George Wallace, Bull Connor and Jefferson Davis — but simply meant to compare their actions to those of the infamous white supremacists. Psaki was pressed at her regular briefing about Biden’s fiery rhetoric at a Tuesday speech in Atlanta, which unsuccessfully sought to convince Democratic senators to set aside the 60-vote legislative filibuster and pass election reforms with a bare majority.

A Republican senator who grilled Dr Anthony Fauci over his financial disclosures - leading a frustrated Fauci to call him under his breath a 'moron' - has published the public health expert's federal records. The records show that Fauci - the highest-paid federal employee, who earns more than President Joe Biden - and his wife, the top bioethicist at the National Institutes of Health, have a combined wealth of $10.4 million.Fauci, 80, has lead the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984 and, if he continues until the end of Biden's term in 2024, will have made roughly $2.5 million as the president's chief medical advisor.

Is Ray Epps the key to uncovering a deep state conspiracy that many of us have suspected for years? With what we have witnessed with Midyear Exam, Crossfire Hurricane, the Whitmer Kidnapping, the 2020 election, and now the January 6 “insurrection,” it has become obvious that our government is not that of a healthy functioning democratic republic. But the depths of the corruption, and how far bad actors are willing to go in corrupting our society, has largely remained hidden. But there are encouraging signs.

Hypocrisy is something we expect from progressive Democrats, but their hypocrisy has been more fully on display during the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic – as well as their insistence on demanding that we all follow unscientific and inconsistent “public health” regulations. So it is with Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Lyin), who recently took a cruise to Bermuda with his entire family – including his elderly parents – and then vacationed in Hawaii, despite the deepening “crisis” with the Omicron variant, and who happily posed for a photograph with his wife and brother at an NFL game

A federal court refused to grant a request by Marc Elias, the Democrat operative who helped run the Russia collusion hoax, to rescind their sanctions against him for deceiving judges in his attempts to fight Republicans in Texas who pushed back on bad election practices by banning straight-ticket voting in the 2020 election. Elias, who worked as Hillary Clinton’s top campaign lawyer in 2016 and served as legal counsel to now-Vice President Kamala Harris when she ran for president in 2020, was first sanctioned by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit in March for deceptively refiling a motion to the court after it was previously denied.

A week from hell? Indeed, and a self-inflicted week from hell, which hasn’t escaped notice — even at CNN. Last night, Erin Burnett fact-checked Joe Biden’s claims on Tuesday that his election-federalizing project separated the righteous from the racists, especially when it comes to Georgia’s supposedly objectionable “restrictions.” Burnett didn’t compare Georgia to Biden’s home state of Delaware, which had been the target of much criticism, but instead looked at deep-blue New York. Which state makes it easier to do early voting? To get absentee ballots? You’d never guess from Biden’s rhetoric, Burnett pointed out

Others have since followed suit. From NBC News: A growing number of health care systems and other companies, including Amtrak and General Electric, are suspending mandates that require employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Political prognosticator Larry Sabato has been gazing into his crystal ball at the University of Virginia for 20 years and has seen it all — the Democratic wave of 2008, the GOP tsunami of 2010, and smaller gains and losses from both parties. But Sabato looked at all the factors affecting this year’s midterm election — redistricting, Biden’s unpopularity, GOP messaging — and has concluded that the Republican battle cry for 2022 should be “Drive for 35” — winning a net of 35 seats would give the GOP 248 seats in the next Congress. It would be the largest majority the Republicans have held since the Great Depression.

As millions prepare for their fuel bills to double this year, MPs will be protected from the soaring costs. That is because those who represent seats outside London can claim back the cost of their electricity and gas on expenses. No fewer than 316 MPs put in utilities claims in 2020-2021, with dozens claiming more than the average household’s dual fuel tariff of £1,138. Analysis of data published by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) shows that claims for utilities totalled £262,454 in 2019-20, of which £206,717 was for gas, electricity and other types of fuel.
