Senators Introduce Bipartisan Legislation
To End US Reliance On Chinese Minerals

A Republican and Democratic senator introduced legislation Friday that aims to end U.S. reliance on rare-earth metals sourced from and produced in China. The Restoring Essential Energy and Security Holdings Onshore for Rare Earths (REEShore) Act would prevent supply disruptions and bolster domestic production of the minerals, according to Sens. Tom Cotton and Mark Kelly, the bill’s sponsors. They said the legislation is important for American national security and development of advanced technologies. “The Chinese Communist Party has a chokehold on global rare-earth element supplies, which are used in everything from batteries to fighter jets,” Cotton said in a statement.

Comments:

This should have been a no-brainer and happened years ago. The Chinese hold on rare-earth metals is a huge problem for the West. Better late than never.

Unless this passes both houses with a veto-proof majority, which it won't, Xiden would veto this in a heartbeat. There are far too many congresspukes in the pocket of the Chinese for this to go anywhere.

President Trump signed an EO on October 1, 2020 to reduce US reliance on rare earth minerals from China, and he declared it a national emergency. Congress was sitting on their hands through most of his presidency. https://www.airforcemag.com/trump-declares-national-emergency-on-rare-earth-elements-supply/

I should have been more specific. Why didn't the CONgress do something back then? Trump was stymied at every turn by the demonrats and rinos who are either getting paid by the Chicoms, sleeping with them, or both.

It's Democrat policies that make it prohibitively expensive to mine and process Rare Earths that has resulted in where we are now. Do you think they are going stop being anti-American commies now? Come on man.

The problem is made worse by the Democ'RATS putting as much of the areas where the ores are located 'Off Limits' by designating the lands 'National Parks' or 'National Monuments'. An example is the huge 'Bears Ears National Monument', where the actual 'Bear Ears' are two small hills, but the area designated 'National Monument' and thus unavailable for mining, is a HUGE area that contains a large amount of hard-to-find ores, in this case mostly Uranium, if I recall correctly. The recent Demc'RAT presidents (Obummer and his hand puppet, the HairSniffer) have done everything that they can, across the board, to weaken and destroy America.

Isn't that what President Trump was doing with encouraging companies to repatriate? He didn't need no stinking legislation.

In this installment of their weekly Sunday Six conversation, PF Whalen and Parker Beauregard of The Blue State Conservative discuss six examples of the ruination of the once-great Cable News Network (CNN) . #6: The ratings for CNN continue to crash. PF: It strikes me that many of our readers, particularly millennials, may be surprised to see our labeling of CNN as “once-great.” Anyone who only became aware of the network in the last decade or two likely assumes CNN has always been essentially just another branch of the Democratic Party’s communication department. But that assumption would be incorrect. While CNN, like most other news networks, has always leaned to the left,

An internal poll shows Republican Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan with a big lead in a hypothetical 2022 Senate matchup with Democratic incumbent Chris Van Hollen. Maryland will elect a new governor in 2022 as Hogan becomes term-limited out of office, and the popular governor has not yet announced his next move. An internal poll shared with the Daily Caller found that, if he chooses to run for Senate, Hogan would currently lead Van Hollen by a 49%-37% margin. While a Senate run has not been ruled out by Hogan, others have speculated he will instead opt to run for president in 2024.

The late Harry Reid returns to the U.S. Capitol this week to lie in state – the very place where he spent a significant portion of his adult life, serving the people of Nevada and his party as Senate majority leader. Reid was in the mold of another legendary Senate majority leader, Lyndon Johnson – someone for whom political power far outweighed any strongly held ideological beliefs. Reid’s expedience sometimes led him to do the right thing, even if it didn’t come from a place of deep conviction. In the early to mid-1990s, as he was trying to climb the ranks of the Democratic leadership structure in the Senate,

A federal judge in Texas granted 35 Navy service members’ court motion challenging the Pentagon’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate with religious exemptions Monday. Mike Berry, who is representing the Navy SEALs on behalf of First Liberty Institute, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the ruling is a win for religious freedom. “We are very grateful for this ruling in favor of our clients,” Berry said. “No longer can the Navy force service members to choose between their faith and serving their country.” He added: “If religious freedom means anything, it must mean that those who are sworn to protect our freedoms should not be forced to lose those very same freedoms.”

I hate asking the question, but nothing is guaranteed anymore. The fact that there are more Republican-appointed justices than not bodes well for inherent rights and freedom in 2022’s big cases, in particular the anon vaccine cases, but with Roberts the Squish and three neophyte Trump appointees coming into their own, anything is possible. As an interesting aside, the three surviving retired justices (O’Connor, Kennedy, and Souter) all joined the ranks courtesy of Republican presidents and subsequently tilted leftward. Has any justice ever moved right? When it’s all said and done, the idea of an absolutely safe constitutional court is on par with the idea of an absolutely safe vaccine.CORRECTION*

With the Senate tied 50-50, just a few key races will decide which party controls Congress’ upper chamber for the last two years of President Joe Biden’s first term. In addition to key pieces of legislation, executive and judicial nominees will depend on whether Democrats can maintain control, or Republicans take over. Here are five of the most important Senate races to watch during the midterms: Pennsylvania Republican Pat Toomey is retiring after two terms, and his seat is one of just two up for election where the current holder is of a different party than the candidate who won the state in 2020.

As the Biden administration continues to fumble its response to the latest wave of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, threats of additional restrictions are looming. Last night, President Joe Biden told reporters he would implement a vaccine requirement for domestic flights if his medical team recommended it. Earlier this week, Dr. Anthony Fauci did just that. The main problem, in addition to unconstitutional decrees issued by public health officials, is Americans have lost faith in the medical establishment to be honest and follow the science when issuing recommendations.

But 12 months into his presidency, many describe a coalition in crisis. Leading voices across Biden’s diverse political base openly decry the slow pace of progress on key campaign promises. The frustration was especially pronounced this past week after Biden’s push for voting rights legislation effectively stalled, intensifying concerns in his party that fundamental democratic principles are at risk and reinforcing a broader sense that the president is faltering at a moment of historic consequence.

But the depths of the corruption, and how far bad actors are willing to go in corrupting our society, has largely remained hidden. But there are encouraging signs.
