More Milwaukee restaurants are requiring
proof of vaccination before you take a seat

More Milwaukee restaurants have begun requiring proof of vaccination from dine-in customers, saying it's necessary for the safety of staff and patrons and to keep their businesses operating. "It’s not meant to be punitive; it’s meant to be protective," in the way cutting off a customer from drinking is, said Melissa Buchholz, co-owner of Odd Duck, 2352 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. The restaurant this week announced on social media that it would require proof of vaccination — a vaccination card, a photo of the card or the online vaccine record filed with the state — along with photo ID.

Meanwhile, here in Florida, restaurants are wide open, no one is stopped at the door by the Gestapo asking for "papers". We were at dinner last night and looked around at a full restaurant and wondered how much this is costing restaurants in "blue" states to have someone do this checking. I also noticed that people are smiling, no masks either except for one table where they had the mask on their chin as they ate.

Customers have choices. I only patronize restaurants that have no COVID rules and haven't raised their prices beyond a reasonable amount due to inflation. Unfortunately for the fast food chains, they are all on my no-go list here. I was shocked at paying over $11 for a Subway sandwich the other day. Bye bye.

I did an engineering consulting visit with a small manufacturing business that operates in a very small town about an hour east of KC yesterday. Not a mask anywhere in sight in the company, and we went to lunch in a little diner in the town, again, nary a mask, nothing going on different than three years ago. From what I saw, the small town midwest has moved entirely past this insanity, getting on with their lives. They are having delays on some of their products shipping due to difficulty getting some parts that they buy from other suppliers.....supply chain issues do affect them. This extreme insanity is focussed where the leftists run things, in the biggest cities, especially on the coasts and around the Great Lakes big Dem cities where sanity left decades ago, in general, and this particular insanity is still running rampant. Out here in Free America - things are pretty normal.

But isn't it RACIST to require a photo ID? But if you can require it to get into a restaurant, we should be able to require it to vote. Oh, it's racist in THAT context, but not the restaurant context? (Demonstrating, again, that being rationally consistent isn't important to the make-it-up-as-we-go Liberals...)

Restaurant owners as doctors.... idiiocy & hubris among the left has reached new levels. Both restaurants, Odd Duck and Uncle Wolfe's Breakfast Tavern are located in the hipster Bayview neighborhood in Milwaukee... this area (lots & lots of restaurants) is on par with Madison, WI for being a pure far left demographic. Note: no restaurants outside this far left area are named in the article.. I am twice vaccinated, could care less what others do and came down with covid Christmas Eve. It's like a bad flu with incredible fatigue (at age 62). I asked my doctor about booster timing -- he said to optimize my current antibodies (getting covid IS a booster), he would recommend a booster at 2-3 months post infection. Thanks Odd Duck and Uncle Wolfe, I think I'll listen to my doctor of 20 years who actaully went to medical school.

The emergence of Web3, a vision of the internet built on blockchain-based, decentralized systems, has many investors licking their chops because of its financial upside.
