Jaguars release Tim Tebow after 1 preseason game

Original Article

The Tim Tebow experiment in Jacksonville didn’t last long. The former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback turned sports broadcaster turned minor league baseball player turned long-shot NFL tight end project was cut on Tuesday, after just a single preseason game. The 34-year-old’s football career is presumably over now.

Comments:

He got a shot...he's not a tight end. Time for a real job like the rest of us mortals.

Hard to say whether he got an honest chance. However, if thats the value they accord him, maybe he's better off somewhere else.

All he needs to do is find a team that has a play where the tight end throws a nifty little jump pass.

I live in Jacksonville. When the preseason game came on TV the other day I told my wife I am only watching to see Tim Tebow. Now that's he's gone the Jaguars are worthless to me as the rest of the NFL.

STOP with the Tim Tebow BS - he sucks!!!! he can't throw he can't run and he can't catch other than that he's a great football player. Tebow 40 time was one of the slowest of any QB at the combine. He throws the ball from his ankles and because of this his release time is as slow as any QB I ever saw. And for him being a TE you have to actually be able to block and catch. Tim no can do. Sorry it has nothing to do with his Christianity after every game there is a group of 20-40 players from both teams that huddle at the 50 yard line to pray together. This happens AFTER EVERY GAME!!!

you can smell the glee reeking from USA Today's report. The "reporter" failed to mention in his intro that Tebow was also a decent NFL quarterback for a couple of years and actually won a playoff game--something Tony Romo never did.

Joe Zich doesn't have one secret to staying on a baseball diamond at age 81. He has several, and he'll tell you all about them. It's the running two to three times a week, the stretching regimen, the tossing to a backstop two to three times a week with a rubber ball he bought from Dunham's Sports. He'll tell you all about the mechanics he uses on the mound, skills that have enabled him to keep pitching after all these years. To reiterate: "Lefty Joe" pitches for his baseball team. This isn't slow-pitch softball.

More and more informed observers are asking why, after 13+ years of the Federal Reserve’s increasingly aggressive monetary interventions, the benefits remain so skewed toward Wall Street over Main Street. The answer is simple: follow the money. Using its traditional tools, the Fed pumps money into the financial system, hoping it will make its way into the broader economy. But the Fed can’t control where the money goes or who financial institutions decide to lend to, and clearly, the primary beneficiaries have been investors and the ultra-rich.

A New York grand jury has indicted the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer with tax-related crimes that will be made public Thursday in court, people familiar with the matter said, marking the first criminal charges against the former president’s company since prosecutors began investigating it three years ago. The charges against the company and longtime CFO Allen Weisselberg are a blow to former President Donald Trump, who has fended off multiple criminal and civil probes during and after his presidency. But the initial charges won’t implicate Mr. Trump himself, his lawyer said...

But Blom, who is white, acknowledges that Milwaukee doesn’t provide everyone with the same opportunities. She recalled an instance years ago when a Black friend house sat for her. When he was outside the home one day, a passerby questioned his presence there.

Joe Biden and his media acolytes call him Mr. Empathy and Mr. Compassion. His Afghanistan speech yesterday told a different story, and should end that phony spin forever. My takeaway was how cold, and hard, and compassionless Biden was as he sought to extricate himself from the catastrophe of his own making. He blamed everyone but himself for his failure, particularly the Afghan army. He smarmily assured terrified Afghanis left behind he'd now speak out for their human rights instead of actually protect them. He effectively told U.S. servicemembers their service was for nothing. It was appalling.

Although the White House had intended to keep Biden under wraps for as long as possible, the demand that he say something – anything – about the unfolding debacle in Afghanistan forced him to leave Camp David for a 20-minute statement, after which he refused to take any questions. The important part of what he said boils down to one sentence: We had to leave and everything that went wrong was Trump’s or the Afghans' fault. Biden is a craven coward, a feckless fool, a dismal dummy, and a man who will soon have more blood on his hands than a thousand Lady Macbeths.

In October of 2020, former White House physician Ronny Jackson raised a question that was on the minds of many voters: “I watch Joe Biden on the campaign trail and I am concerned that he does not have the cognitive ability to serve as our commander in chief and head of state.” Jackson, who had served under Presidents Obama and Trump, stressed that he was speaking as a “concerned citizen” rather than a physician. Inevitably, the media collectively descended on Jackson like so many flying monkeys, but he raised the issue again during Biden’s absence from the public eye last weekend as Afghanistan was being overrun by the Taliban.
