Hours after a dominating performance, the Needville Little League All-Stars are now out of the Little League Southwest Regional tournament. Little League International said on Friday morning that at least one Needville player and/or coach tested positive for COVID-19, and the team will not be allowed continue to participate in the tournament, according to a statement. “Little League International has been informed of at least one positive COVID-19 test within multiple teams participating in the Little League Baseball Southwest Region Tournament. The teams impacted are the Mississippi State Champion, Oklahoma State Champion, and Texas East State Champion,” the statement read.

Comments:

Supposedly, the Needville team only had one positive - a coach. He was reportedly re-tested and found negative. It is surprising that three of the state champions are found positive and sent home. It is also interesting that these areas are criticized for their vaccination stats. After coaching both boys and girls in Little League, my experience is that the rules are what Williamsport decides they are, not what's necessarily written. The COVID rules LL promulgated aren't exactly what has now transpired, by my reading. And then there is the accuracy of whatever tests are administered...

Even if you test positive, if you are symptom free, that doesn't mean you are infectious. We have gone way overboard with the precautionary principle.

If they did that, #2, how would they keep the fear flowing? This thing is with us until 2022 so they can use the mail-in voting fraud. If we don't manage to toss these socialist out en masse then, we have it until we do. Somehow, we must vote the pandemic out next year. Or live with this forever.

Two 18-year-old Namibian runners threw track and field's contentious testosterone issue back into the Olympic spotlight Monday when they blazed into the women's 200-metre final in Tokyo just weeks after being barred from the 400-metre race. One of them, Christine Mboma, broke the world under-20 record twice in the space of about eight hours at the Olympic Stadium on the way to the 200 final.

More and more informed observers are asking why, after 13+ years of the Federal Reserve’s increasingly aggressive monetary interventions, the benefits remain so skewed toward Wall Street over Main Street. The answer is simple: follow the money. Using its traditional tools, the Fed pumps money into the financial system, hoping it will make its way into the broader economy. But the Fed can’t control where the money goes or who financial institutions decide to lend to, and clearly, the primary beneficiaries have been investors and the ultra-rich.

It was around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, when police got word of a Nissan Versa driving erratically near the New York-New Jersey border. Once they caught up to the driver, they discovered the man covered in blood, with gashes across his arms and thighs. "I am tired," Jeffrey Sabol, 51, told the Clarkstown, N.Y., police officers as they aided him, according to court documents. "I am done fighting."

A New York grand jury has indicted the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer with tax-related crimes that will be made public Thursday in court, people familiar with the matter said, marking the first criminal charges against the former president’s company since prosecutors began investigating it three years ago. The charges against the company and longtime CFO Allen Weisselberg are a blow to former President Donald Trump, who has fended off multiple criminal and civil probes during and after his presidency. But the initial charges won’t implicate Mr. Trump himself, his lawyer said...

Anne Blom has called Milwaukee home for more than 40 years. She raised three children in a house she has owned for decades in Washington Heights, a neighborhood full of shade, wide streets and well-kept lawns. On a scale of 1 to 10, she’d rate the city a 9. “We love what the city has to offer,” she said. But Blom, who is white, acknowledges that Milwaukee doesn’t provide everyone with the same opportunities. She recalled an instance years ago when a Black friend house sat for her. When he was outside the home one day, a passerby questioned his presence there.

There was at least one Republican who disagreed with former House Speaker Paul Ryan's critique of Donald Trump's hold on the party. That would be Trump. "Paul Ryan has been a curse to the Republican Party," Trump said as part of a lengthy statement issued Friday by the former president. "He has no clue as to what needs to be done for our Country, was a weak and ineffective leader, and spends all of his time fighting Republicans as opposed to Democrats who are destroying our Country."

Acknowledging that "conservatives find ourselves at a crossroads," former House Speaker Paul Ryan sought to map out a vision for the Republican Party in the post-Donald Trump era. In an address Thursday night at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California, Ryan credited Trump for bringing "many new voters into our party" but said Republicans have to face a reality. "If the conservative cause depends on the populist appeal of one personality, or of second-rate imitations, then we're not going anywhere," Ryan said.

In eight years, half of American car buyers will be forced to purchase overpriced, underperforming electric cars they don’t want, courtesy of the federal government and a compliant auto industry. That, at least, is what President Joe Biden announced at the White House on Thursday, and it’s just as we predicted in this space three months ago. With a wave of his pen, Biden ordered that 50% of new cars and trucks sold by 2030 are to be electric. Since the auto companies already have their 2022 model year cars in production, that means they have less than eight years

It’s cheap, easy, and lots of fun to highlight Joe Biden’s incoherence and creepiness. Heck, he displays it constantly. Just yesterday, he sniffed a little girl’s hair and made an utterly incomprehensible speech likening police to brawling high school athletes. However, Don Surber, one of the most acute political observers suggests that Biden may be hiding a still-sharp brain behind that decrepit, incoherent exterior. I put it to you, the readers, to make the call. On Thursday, Twitter wasn’t able to stop “Creepy Joe” from trending. The reason was that he was once again caught snuffling at a little girl under the pretext of whispering something to her:

MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin removed a large boulder from its Madison campus on Friday at the request of minority students who view the rock as a symbol of racism. Chamberlin Rock, on the top of Observatory Hill, is named after Thomas Crowder Chamberlin, a geologist and former university president.
