Acting Mayor Johnson announces public
safety plan to tackle gun violence, car
thefts and reckless driving in Milwaukee

With Milwaukee's Police Chief Jeffrey Norman standing by his side, Acting Mayor Cavalier Johnson announced sweeping policy proposals Wednesday to help combat crime as Milwaukee faces rising homicides, gun violence, car thefts and reckless driving. In the newly released strategy, the acting mayor aims to ramp up the city's law enforcement — including maintaining its level of sworn officers — to deal with the rising number of violent crimes, create resources to promote community healing and provide neighborhood-level support to address the root causes of violence in Milwaukee.

Comments:

The murder trend line in the city is sharply upward. A record-breaking year in '21, with 205, 190 in '20, from only 98 in '19. Gun locks and diversity education...that's the ticket.

FTA, "ramp up the city's law enforcement — including maintaining its level of sworn officers — to deal with the rising number of violent crimes, create resources to promote community healing and provide neighborhood-level support to address the root causes of violence" Honestly, can't make this up. Fight crime by addressing the victims' feelings. Not stop crime. Not make criminals accountable for their crimes. Nope, just make sure the feelings of the victims is addressed and determine what is the criminals' motivation. You can't fix stupid!

Problem for the good Acting Mayor is this ... the Milwaukee County DA (a white man) is going to turn anyone that the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee County Sheriff bring to them for prosecution. Ask the Dancing Grannies how that turned out in neighboring Waukesha County last month. My best wishes to the Acting Mayor of Milwaukee (a city I love from my youth). Problem is, a couple white guys (the DA, and the old Mayor, who is enroute to his new gigs as Biden's flack (aka ambassador) to Luxemburg) left him nothing to work with. PS ... Did somebody tell old Mayor Barrett that Luxemburg is a country in Europe, not a village in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin, near Green Bay?

Never, ever one word about enlisting the churches to help begin building better people with a belief in right and wrong, civic responsibility, and good morals. Without those foundations this is all hopeless blather, Mr. Mayor.

What is with the entertaining names of blue city mayors right now? SF, Chicago, and now Milwaukee. You just know the media is going to have such fun covering this guy now. Refusing to address one of the core issues of crime in his city, taking personal responsibility for one's actions, is going to be ignored. Feelings and trying to make the whites in Milwaukee the bad guys again are what this guy is going to do. After all, it has worked just swell in all the cities I mentioned and Seattle as well.

Just one line about 'possible reforms to the cash bail system' but no word what this means. By reform do they mean to keep cash bail or like most woke cities do away with it? None of the policy proposals will do a thing if the criminals are not locked up in large numbers.

Until somebody gets the guts to address the culture of violence in the black community nothing will change. You see, systemic racism is not the problem in this country, systemic violence in the black community is the problem. Got it.

There is no such thing as this fictional "gun violence". I own a number of guns, and several of them are loaded and ready 24/7. Not one of them has ever committed any violence. I have used some to kill deer, squirrels and such or shoot at targets, but that was ME, not the guns. "Gun violence" is a fiction.

"promote community healing and provide neighborhood-level support to address the root causes of violence in Milwaukee." Nothing more than banal BS. The root cause is the dysfunctional black underclass, but they won't "address" that. That will only get better if the black community itself finally wakes up and changes that culture. Won't happen though. They need an organization that is the opposite of BLM. BLM only cares about money and protecting black criminals. What will happen is massive white flight to smaller cities, towns and rural areas in red states. They will take the tax base with them, leaving the big, blue cities with no revenue and a steady decline into violence and failure.

More Milwaukee restaurants have begun requiring proof of vaccination from dine-in customers, saying it's necessary for the safety of staff and patrons and to keep their businesses operating. "It’s not meant to be punitive; it’s meant to be protective," in the way cutting off a customer from drinking is, said Melissa Buchholz, co-owner of Odd Duck, 2352 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. The restaurant this week announced on social media that it would require proof of vaccination — a vaccination card, a photo of the card or the online vaccine record filed with the state — along with photo ID.
