MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace said Thursday on her show “Deadline” that right-wing media, former President Donald Trump and guns were fueling the domestic extremism threat level.Wallace said, “A domestic extremism threat unlike any other before in our country’s history looms over every facet of American life right now, today. It is fueled in-part by disgraced ex-president who is still lying about the fact that he lost the 2020 election fair and square. That disgraced ex-president now passes his days trying to stymy the bipartisan investigation into the worst attack on Congress in centuries, one that of course happened on his watch, and that he incited.”

DEL RIO, Texas — According to a source within Customs and Border Protection, migrants from Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India were arrested Wednesday. Border Patrol agents encountered them after crossing the Rio Grande as they tried to elude apprehension in dense brush.
The incidents began early Wednesday when agents arrested a group of seven. Agents tracked footprints away from the Rio Grande, ultimately finding the migrants on a private ranch.
Four identified themselves as citizens of Afghanistan, two from India, and one from Pakistan. As the day unfolded, five more significant interest migrants were apprehended, raising the number of migrants from significant interest countries to 12 in a single day—including four Syrians.

Cop26 is expected to have a carbon footprint twice as large as the last conference on climate change, making it the most carbon-intensive summit of its kind. A preliminary report for the UK Government by consultants Arup states 102,500 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e) is due to be released by the summit in Glasgow.
This comes in comparison to 51,101 tCO2e from Cop25 in Madrid in 2019. Around 60 per cent is produced by international flights taken by world leaders and business magnates including Amazon's Jeff Bezos, said The Scotsman newspaper. His £48million Gulf Stream led a 400-strong parade of private jets into Cop26 a fortnight ago

The broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) routinely exercise their power to raise local stories to national attention when they decide it helps the narrative, or squash it if it doesn’t. So, obviously, Wednesday's terroristic threats from New York City’s Black Lives Matter leader Hawk Newsome were conspicuously absent Thursday evening even though he had said his group would bring “riots,” “fire,” and “bloodshed” (emphasis his) if Mayor-elect Eric Adams (D) tried to bring back the “anti-crime” unit.

Begala said, “Well, I think he’s going to run. And that’s not just me from the outside. Talk to people close to Trump. It’s close to 100% certainty that he’s going to run. You would assume that if the CDC was going to crush the civil and individual rights of those with natural immunity by having them expelled from school, fired from their jobs, separated from the military, and worse, the CDC would have proof of at least one instance of an unvaccinated, naturally immune individual transmitting the COVID-19 virus to another individual. If you thought this, you would be wrong.
My firm, on behalf of ICAN, asked the CDC for precisely this proof (see below). ICAN wanted to see proof of any instance in which someone who previously had COVID-19 became reinfected with and transmitted the virus to someone else.

A military invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces could be imminent, the White House warned its allies in Europe on Thursday. The United States is concerned that Russia may take aggressive action amid tensions over the Belarusian-Polish border and an increasingly tenuous situation with Europe's natural gas supply.Fears of a possible military operation were partially sparked by a buildup of Russian firepower at its border with Ukraine, Bloomberg first reported. A federal appeals court panel on Thursday afternoon granted a request by former President Donald Trump to stay a lower court judge's ruling requiring the National Archives to hand over documents to the House Jan. 6th committee. The stay is intended to give the court time to consider Trump´s arguments against release of the documents, which was otherwise scheduled for Friday without a court order. But the temporary stay has a short fuse: the appeals court set arguments in the case for Nov. 30. A three-judge panel issued the administration injunction. It said it did so 'to protect the court’s jurisdiction' to address Trump's claim of executive privilege,

Indeed it is. Glenn Youngkin’s win in Virginia last Tuesday is just such an event. Just days before Youngkin’s victory, in my article “Democrats Are Imploding; All Is Well, Right?” I said that in fact all is very much NOT well. I ensured you that Youngkin was going to win, but noted that the Democrats do one thing very well – they don’t ever quit:
I said the Democrats, and those who identify with them, are stupid. I didn’t say they were just going to quit.

Kyle Rittenhouse, in an unusual move for a defendant, took the witness stand Wednesday. He cried. His defense team then made a motion for a mistrial with prejudice, which means Rittenhouse couldn’t be retried. But whatever the court rules, he has already won. If Rittenhouse is convicted, he will likely stop being a right-wing mascot and become a right-wing martyr. If he isn’t convicted, he will set a precedent for others like him to pick up guns they shouldn’t have and thrust themselves into the middle of unrest they should avoid — confident in knowing that prison won’t be in their future.

If you follow the prosecution’s case against Kyle Rittenhouse, the only logical end is the assertion that self-defense is almost never an option and visiting the scene of a riot is only okay if you are there to burn property.
There are other facets to lead prosecutor Thomas Binger’s arguments — that Rittenhouse, 18, was in illegal possession of a gun, that he showed up in Kenosha, Wis., that night of violent rioting because he was pursuing danger, and that he could have easily done things differently.

It was hard to watch Kyle Rittenhouse break down during almost five hours in the witness box Wednesday.
Over and over, he was forced to relive the traumatic evening of August 25, 2020, when he was chased by a murderous antifa mob and ended up shooting dead two of his attackers and wounding a third in riot-plagued Kenosha, Wis.

New York BLM co-founder Hawk Newsome debated the plan for a return to tougher policing with Adams during a contentious sit-down at Brooklyn Borough Hall Wednesday that was livestreamed on Instagram.
Although Adams found common ground with the activists on plans to fight poverty in the black community, the former NYPD captain said he’ll be reinstating a revamped version of the undercover anti-crime unit that was disbanded at the height of widespread police protests last year.

Europe's drug regulator on Thursday recommended adding a rare type of spinal inflammation called transverse myelitis as a side-effect of Johnson & Johnson's (JNJ.N) single-dose COVID-19 vaccine. Reports of this serious neurological illness was also at the heart of trial halts in the early stages of development for both AstraZeneca (AZN.L) and J&J's shots, which are based on similar technology. Giving updates on the safety of all coronavirus shots, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) said it was assessing reports of a rare blood condition known as capillary leak syndrome (CLS) following inoculation with Moderna's (MRNA.O) vaccine. President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that most Americans cannot understand the problems faced by the United States' supply chains, adding that 'not a lot of people' have a clear grasp of the networks and their implications. Speaking at the port of Baltimore, where he touted his $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill—which was passed by Congress on Friday, and which he plans to sign into law on Monday—Biden said that investing in resiliency was essential. 'You hear a lot about the supply chains in the news, but frankly, not a lot of people have a clear understanding, whether they have a Ph.D. or they didn't go to school,

It’s the parents, stupid.
A week ago tonight, as I watched the returns in Virginia from my home in North Carolina, snippets of my reporting from around the country over the course of this past year began to feel more and more like a trail of so many predictive cookie crumbs: The centrality of schools already back in the spring in the uber-political battlefield of Ron DeSantis’ Florida. The nonstop drumbeat of the talk about school boards every time I went to Ohio. Even just the consternation about masks or no masks in schools within the chatter of the crowd at a Senate campaign event in late August

A disturbing cheap shot during a California basketball game left a teen girl concussed and her mother “in shock.” At an event in Southern California, 15-year-old Lauryn Ham was sucker-punched by one of her opponents. According to her mother, she’s still recovering from the brutal punch over the weekend.(Snip)“The person in question went down the court and shot a 3-pointer, landed, fell backwards into my daughter,” Ham said. “As they got up and turned and were walking back down to the other side of the court, her mom says to her, ‘You need to hit her for that.’ And the child in question sucker-punched

What's up with Kamala Harris on her five-day official visit to France representing the United States of America?
Seems she's up to this: Truly, what is wrong w this woman?! She’s mocking them as though her prep for this trip involved watching Pepe LePew cartoons. Kamala using a fake French accent to talk to French people. (snip) Which is pretty juvenile. Going to a foreign country and mocking the locals in their own accent is no way to make friends or project U.S. influence abroad. In fact, it's not something anyone with any manners at all would do, let alone jet into someone's country to do.

As Vermont reports higher than ever COVID-19 case rates, state health officials have been trying to understand why. How can a state that did so well during the first part of the pandemic — even garnering national recognition — be doing so much worse now? "There is not one simple answer," said Vermont Health Commissioner Dr. Mark Levine during a news conference Tuesday. "But, there are clearly factors that have come together to create the situation that we're in now." Slowing the spread is critical right now to prevent Vermont's hospitals from being overwhelmed with people sick with the virus, Levine said.

We’re not big fans of economist Larry Summers, but in this case, he should be in line for a Nobel Prize for predicting exactly what is happening with inflation today … and who is to blame for it.
On Wednesday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that inflation climbed at an annual rate of 6.2%, the biggest such jump in three decades.
And that’s despite repeated predictions from other “experts” that the spike in prices earlier this year was “transitory.” Even now, they are flummoxed. As the Washington Post put it Wednesday, inflation is “lasting longer than policymakers at the

As they learn more about social and emotional learning (SEL) with its data-mining, parents are in an uproar. They're demanding an opt-out and deletion of all stored data. Some believe that if we can stop the leftward lurch of America, we can "turn our schools around" and use SEL as it was "initially intended."
But was the initial purpose of SEL really to teach appropriate social behavior and support "mental wellness" and "management of emotions," or is there a sinister underside?

Media figures went wild on Wednesday with accusations of bias on the part of Kyle Rittenhouse trial Judge Bruce Schroeder after his ringtone erupted in the courtroom — allegedly to Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA,” though others heard “Southern Cross” by Crosby, Stills, and Nash. The moment occurred as the Kyle Rittenhouse defense tried to argue that the prosecution was deliberately trying to cause a mistrial by breaking several pre-trial orders to cover up for their lousy performance in the hopes of a do-over. Coming back from lunch, Kyle Rittenhouse's defense team argues that the prosecution is purposely aiming for a mistrial.

Virginia Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin says the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill recently passed by Congress will help his state. [Snip] Youngkin was asked for his reaction to those GOP lawmakers crossing the aisle to give Biden a legislative victory. "Mine is far less of a good or bad political decision," Youngkin said [Snip] "There's going to be good support for Virginia that comes out of that bill, and right now we're trying to make sure we identify where the support for Virginia can come. We've got a lot of infrastructure needs in Virginia.

It was a family affair Wednesday when Hunter Biden finally showed up at the Manhattan art gallery where his novice paintings are being offered for up to $500,000 each amid concerns about influence-peddling by the president’s son.Biden, 51, carried his 1-1/2-year-old son Beau on his shoulders as he, wife Melissa Cohen and daughter Maisy Biden were escorted by owner George Berges into his eponymous Soho storefront for a party more than two weeks after the exhibition opened to a mere trickle of prospective buyers.About 60 guests gathered for the belated event, including President Biden’s younger sister, Valerie Biden Owens,

The COVID pandemic is over.
Thanks to the work of President Donald Trump, a vaccine is widely available to anyone who wants it. And, coming from that research, a new pill from Pfizer that cuts the risk of death and hospitalization by 90 percent in individuals who contract COVID, is in front of the Food and Drug Administration for approval.
Those who want to protect themselves from COVID can do so easily, and those who chose not to take advantage of the vaccine or the pill (when it is approved) are in any event are unlikely to die from the sickness.

It made for a good laugh a few months ago when Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), a particularly fierce critic of former President Donald Trump, indicated she wasn't ruling out a run for president in 2024. Her actions as of late have only fueled further speculation that she really is going for it. On Tuesday night she not only publicly railed against Trump before a large audience, but she did so in New Hampshire. As the first primary state, even just stepping foot there can get people talking. Rep. Cheney made her remarks at St. Anselm College’s Nackey Loeb School of Communication.

Is the Biden administration governing in a way that takes into consideration the will of the American people? Based on his plummeting poll numbers and crude anti-Biden chants filling sports stadiums, the answer would seem to be no.
Last week’s defeat of the left at the polls in Virginia and elsewhere was a reminder of the pushback of “we the people.”
Some leftist pundits said Terry McAuliffe lost his Virginia gubernatorial campaign in 2021 because he didn’t campaign to the left enough. Others remarked it was the alleged “white supremacist” factor that gave conservatives the victory.

Today we celebrate Veterans Day, a holiday that honors all American veterans, living or dead, who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.
On the “11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month” in 1918, the Allied nations and Germany agreed to an armistice, ending World War I, which is generally regarded as “the war to end all wars.” It became known as “Armistice Day,” and is commemorated by many countries.
One year later, in Nov. 1919, President Woodrow Wilson declared Nov. 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day. On June 4, 1926, Congress passed a resolution

The tent city outside the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Medical Center campus just off the 405 Freeway resembled more a military encampment than a makeshift shantytown thrown up by vagrants. The tents were lined up with a soldierly precision, and each sported a prominent American flag. The impressive display was a mixture of pride and tragedy. Known as “Veterans Row,” the site was home to dozens of people who served in the U.S. military in every conflict from Vietnam to Afghanistan and now, out of uniform, are living on the streets of the country they once defended.(Snip)Although exact numbers are difficult to track, most officials say approximately 40,000

Members of Congress who die in office customarily have a year’s salary, currently $174,000, as a payout to their survivors.
Families of U.S. service members who die on active duty get a $100,000 death gratuity. Japanese Americans, forced out of their homes and into internment camps for more than two years during World War II, collected $20,000 payments four decades later. That’s worth about $46,000 in today’s dollars. Lawmakers and legal experts are looking at those kinds of payments as the Biden administration considers cutting $450,000 checks—nearly 10 times the inflation-adjusted rate paid to the internees—to compensate illegal immigrants who say they suffered emotional trauma
