The Kyle Rittenhouse Prosecutor’s Case
Comes Down To Rioting Good, Self-Defense Bad

Original Article

If you follow the prosecution’s case against Kyle Rittenhouse, the only logical end is the assertion that self-defense is almost never an option and visiting the scene of a riot is only okay if you are there to burn property. There are other facets to lead prosecutor Thomas Binger’s arguments — that Rittenhouse, 18, was in illegal possession of a gun, that he showed up in Kenosha, Wis., that night of violent rioting because he was pursuing danger, and that he could have easily done things differently.

Comments:

Exactly right. There never should have been a riot for Rittenhouse to go to.

Why were you running? Because there was a fire.. Why were you running towards a fire? To put it out.. Why would you want to do that? Uhmmm...Because it is a FIRE. So what, there are fires everywhere. Uhmmm, wait'a'minnit I thought you were a Prosecutor, yet YOU seem to think that stopping fires isn't ANYONE'S responsibility, Fires are Fine? Arson is Fine? Burning, looting, rioting, assaults are all "Fine" and that NO ONE should feel even an urge to stop them? Let alone a civic responsibility to do so? Gotta ask...Grosscrotch was a "Felon, illegally in possession of a concealed firearm"...at a Crime scene..he admitted chasing and attacking a Juvenile with that firearm. Calling upon others to attack a juvenile. Mr. Prosecutor, you have his confession, film evidence, of all of these things...Why have you not charged Grosscrotch with anything?

You just shot a mostly peaceful rioter who was white, armed, reaching for his weapon, and had previously threatened to kill you? You're a white supremacist.

Correction to #3, the armed man was not "reaching for his weapon"....he had a loaded handgun in his hand and had it pointed at Mr. Rittenhouse's head when he was shot.

You can question Rittenhouse's judgement for showing up there in the first place, or that he choose to arm himself with a weapon he was not legally allowed to possess (another argument entirely), but when the moment came, he did what he had to do. He was either going to let some anarchist scumbucket kill him, or he was going to take the gun he carried, and defend himself, as is our God given right. He did the right thing. This is self-defense, plain and simple.

how arrogantly stupid do you have to be to openly threaten to kill a man armed with a rifle, then act out on that threat, brandishing your own gun after you and associates chase him while screaming said threats? And how double stupid do you have to be to assault an openly armed man with a skateboard("technically " not a weapon unless you use it to assault someone with it)? i thought these punks spent their off days playing Call of Duty and such. Has anyone in one of these games picked "skateboard" to be their weapon??

Re #5. I don't know the law on minors owning long guns in Wisconsin, but by federal law a person younger than 18 may possess a long gun, as long as it is approved by parents. He may not PURCHASE it himself, but if given one, it is legal, at least federally. AFAIK, same for under 21 for handguns, federally. Cannot purchase but can possess legally with parental approval. Perhaps it is illegal in Wisconsin to possess a rifle under age 18, but that seems unlikely since Wisconsin is a huge deer hunting state, and kids commonly hunt deer with rifles. And reports that he "crossed state lines with a gun", seem to be untrue, and the gun was kept at a friend's home in Wisconsin. And there is some indication that the friend actually owned the gun, but that is not clear.

A fourth-generation dairy farmer warned that climate change-related regulations and a slew of economic woes could signal the end for her family's way of life after nearly a century. "We've been attacked in the dairy industry for a while now," Stephanie Nash told Fox News. "Instead of educating people through the farmer, we're educating them through people that have never farmed and we're killing off our family farmers." Rising costs, labor and supply shortages and little support – in addition to climate change and conservation regulations – are all major obstacles threatening the Nash family, which has been in the dairy farming business for 92 years.

In the year since last Thanksgiving, no one has been more influential in shaping the course of my career than MSNBC’s Joy Reid. Others on the left come close, but no one is quite as good at representing, day in and day out, just how awful Democrats and the media have become. Watching Reid’s show is the surest way to get a sense of where the left’s depravity stands and where it’s headed. Her program has been a godsend in providing me with direction in explaining and answering any given lie that Democrats and the media are excitedly spreading.

Guitar For Life Cafe was one of the only unlocked doors on West Main St. in downtown Waukesha on Monday morning, so I stepped inside to buy a cup of coffee. It quickly became clear the shop wasn’t actually open for business. The cafe was dark behind the front counter, with a handful of people scattered among the wooden hightops and stools, nursing paper cups of steaming coffee. It wasn’t immediately apparent when they were all doing there. A kind man pointed me in the direction of the complimentary dispenser: “Help yourself.”

MSNBC is in some hot water after someone who was allegedly sent by one of the network’s producers reportedly got arrested while following the bus carrying the jury for the Kyle Rittenhouse trial and was suspected of trying to photograph them. The judge has since banned MSNBC from the courtroom for the rest of the trial. The man, who reportedly identified himself as James J. Morrison and said he was instructed to follow the jury by MSNBC’s Irene Byon, was pulled over and issued citations for running a red light. Police say that although they suspected he was attempting to take pictures, he didn’t obtain any photographs of the jury.

The Glasgow Climate Conference wrapped Friday with so much progress: There was a “joint pledge” by President Joe Biden and an indifferent Chinese dictator to slow down the changing climate sometime in the next decade or so; there was a call from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to “get on and do it,” whatever that means; there was even a column from The New York Times’ Tom Friedman on how, after seeing all the protests and listening to all the leaders, he’s feeling “very energized, and very afraid.” It was great. Refreshing, really. I loved it. Why? Because it felt like a return to normalcy:

During an interview with Durr, Fox News’s Tucker Carlson asked if he has actually spoken to Sweeney since the election results came out. “Have you talked to Sweeney since you dethroned him? This year has seen the largest increase ever in the number of concealed handgun permit holders—more than two million, for a total of 21.52 million. That is a 48 percent increase since 2016. On Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard the case of NYSRPA v. Bruen, which has a chance to further increase this total and make permitting rules more similar across states. Six states now have more than 1 million permit holders: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Florida is the first state to have more than 2.5 million permits.
