Before the results of the Virginia governor's race were in, many on the Left were scrambling to find an explanation for the surprising lead the Republican candidate, Glenn Youngkin, was enjoying. Of course, to the rest of us, this was no surprise; the myriad concerns Americans are facing provided adequate explanation for voters' impatience with the Democrats, from the COVID-19 pandemic to inflation to supply chain shortages to political polarization. And yet, rather than look to these explanations, the mainstream media, seemingly in unison, settled on a single culprit: white supremacy.

The rate of new COVID-19 cases in California is currently more than twice the rate in Florida, prompting debate about draconian public health measures implemented across the Golden State, like vaccine mandates for small children.
California is averaging 16 new cases per 100,000 residents the last week compared to just seven in Florida.
California’s full vaccination rate (62%) is higher than places like Florida (60) and Texas (54), where state leaders do not enforce mask policies or support strict mandates. The Golden State has seen a surge of more than 60% in new cases in the last two weeks, compared to a 20% drop in the Sunshine State.

Jake Sullivan, President Biden's White House national security adviser, is the "foreign policy advisor" referred to in the indictment of former Hillary Clinton presidential campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann, according to two well-placed sources.
This is the closest Special Counsel John Durham's investigation into the origins of the Russia investigation has come to anyone directly associated with the Biden White House. Sussmann was indicted for allegedly lying to the FBI on Sept. 16, and has pleaded not guilty to one count of making a false statement to a federal agent. This case came out of Durham’s probe into the origins of the Russia investigation.

Washington—To enforce President Joe Biden’s forthcoming COVID-19 mandate, the U.S. Labor Department is going to need a lot of help. Its Occupational Safety and Health Administration doesn’t have nearly enough workplace safety inspectors to do the job. So the government will rely upon a corps of informers to identify violations of the order: Employees who will presumably be concerned enough to turn in their own employers if their co-workers go unvaccinated or fail to undergo weekly tests to show they’re virus-free. What’s not known is just how many employees will be willing to accept some risk to themselves—or their job security—for blowing the whistle

Former President Donald Trump in remarks at the National Republican Congressional Committee dinner Monday openly blasted the 13 congressional Republicans who supported President Biden’s infrastructure bill in a vote Friday.
Fox News Digital has confirmed from sources at the dinner that the former president criticized the 13 Republican defectors in a lengthy speech Monday night in a room where at least one of them, Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, was present. The House of Representatives voted 228-206 on Friday to pass the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, which could not have passed without the support of the 13 Republicans who pushed it through despite opposition from six progressive Democratic members of the House.

As we finish 18 months of COVID-19 pandemic, what will we see in the next six months? There will be a massive push to get everyone vaccinated with more battles and punishments for noncompliance. Government, public health authorities, the media, and big pharma will lead the charge. Experimental vaccination will be pushed because those in power can feel their narrative of fear slipping away and they don't have much time left to push the vaccines. People are beginning to realize that COVID-19 is not extremely dangerous to the healthy below age 70. Cases and deaths are going down in spite of attempts to inflate cases with faulty tests

Eight years ago, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) General Secretary Xi Jinping suggested problems were eminent for party officials who choose to become “naked officials.” He was referring to those who send their spouses, children, and money abroad to make it easier to “jump ship” whenever they want to. Just recently, the CCP media reiterated Xi’s words criticizing party officials for being physically in China, but mentally abroad.
To draw attention to this matter, the CCP Central Discipline Inspection Commission recently quoted an article published in the Study Times telling the story of three “naked officials” and suggesting there are more.
The first was Cao Jianliao, the former vice mayor of Guangzhou city.

Traffic accidents illustrate the phenomenon. It was widely assumed that traffic deaths would decline during the pandemic because fewer miles were being driven.
But the opposite happened. Miles driven did predictably decline in 2020 compared to 2019 – by about 13% — but traffic deaths spiked upward 7% compared to 2019. The story in 2021 is even worse. Traffic deaths in 2021 are running about 18% higher than 2020 even though miles driven are up only 13% over that one-year period.
These grim figures correlate with declining use of seatbelts, more drunk driving and more speeding. COVID effectively suspended the rules of the road.
That’s not all.

If there’s anything that liberal elites, especially Black liberal elites, hate more than white rednecks, it’s Black conservatives. Elites see them as sellouts, or “Uncle Toms.” MSNBC host Joy Reid once referred to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as “Uncle Clarence.” And since they’re not related, it was simply a cheap shot at a man whose conservative worldview makes him, in Reid’s view, a traitor to his race.
In 1991, then-Rep. Major Owens (D-N.Y.), a Black liberal, testified against Thomas’s confirmation, comparing him to Vidkun Quisling, a Norwegian military officer who collaborated with the Nazis.

Or would it be something grimmer, what Mark Zuckerberg calls the “metaverse”?
"Mark Zuckerberg says he has long imagined a virtual world where people work, play and interact. Now he’s preparing to spend billions of dollars and years of effort at making that a reality so Facebook Inc. can prosper. …

Dozens of family members of American soldiers remain trapped in Afghanistan and at the mercy of the Taliban more than two months after the Biden administration's botched withdrawal from the country. Those stranded include children, siblings and parents of US service members, as well as more than 100 extended family members.
The Pentagon does not have a 'good accounting' of how many family members of DOD civilians remain trapped in Afghanistan since the last US flight left Kabul airport at the end of August, NBC News reported.(Snip)Congress members have been pressuring the Pentagon to help those stranded since the withdrawal fiasco, which included the deaths of 13 troops

Former President Barack Obama called on world leaders to save the planet, but he couldn’t quite identify which country he was in.
Mr. Obama’s speech Monday at the COP26 climate-change summit is being mocked for his reference to host Scotland as part of the “Emerald Isles,” which is a nickname for Ireland. “Since we’re in the Emerald Isles here let me quote the Bard, William Shakespeare,” Mr. Obama said. “‘What wound,’ he writes, ‘did ever heal but by degrees?’” Observers pointed out Mr. Obama actually committed two gaffes in the same breath. Shakespeare is considered the bard of England—yet another country. Scotland’s bard is poet Robert Burns.

New York - Amid an array of discouraging election results for Democrats last week, there was one under-the-radar outcome that was especially perplexing. In New York, one of the country’s most progressive states, voters overwhelmingly rejected initiatives that would have expanded voting access in future elections. The vote, which came in a year when Republican-led states have passed dozens of laws to restrict voting access, left voting rights advocates stunned. (Snip) None of the measures came anywhere close to passing. Republicans waged a well-funded and aggressive campaign to oppose the amendments, a move that caught supporters of the proposal off

French health authorities have halted advising for the Moderna vaccine to be used by under 30s after a study linked it to rare heart problems. It came after a nationwide study reportedly confirmed a slight risk of cardiac inflammation associated with mRNA vaccines. Now French health authorities are advising against the use of the Modern jab. The study was carried out by the independent medicines safety research group Epi-Phare.(Snip)It looked at all people in France aged 12 to 50 who were hospitalised for myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) or pericarditis (inflammation of the tissue surrounding the heart) between May 15 and August 31 of this year.

Oregon Democratic Senator Ron Wyden's son, a Florida-based hedge fund millionaire, put his liberal dad and his 'cronies' in Congress on blast Sunday night after the lawmaker used an exchange with Elon Musk to again promote his proposed billionaire's tax. (Snip) His son jumped in with a forceful response on Sunday evening. 'Why does he hate us / the American dream so much?!?!?!?!' Adam Wyden wrote. 'Reality is: most legislators have never built anything… so I guess it’s easier to mindlessly and haphazardly try and tear stuff down.' He then flaunted his own financial success, writing: 'Thankfully, I think I

The White House is pushing back against the Court of Appeals decision over the weekend to freeze Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate for private business. Officials have gone as far as to say businesses should ignore the recent court ruling. According to CNBC, during Monday’s White House briefing Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that: "People should not wait. They should continue to move forward and make sure they’re getting their workplace vaccinated."

There has been a great deal of discussion of the widespread Republican victories last week, many of them belaboring the obvious. Fundamentally, the United States is a political society based on personal freedom, a free market, and on democratically legislated and responsibly enforced laws. The current administration’s belief in virtually unrestricted immigration, higher taxes, authoritarian regulation—including COVID vaccine mandates, and a heavy redistribution of wealth from those who have earned it to those who have not—are all antagonistic to the ethos that the United States has had for all of its history. In the circumstances, some sort of reversal was almost inevitable and is the off-year American electoral custom.

We reported earlier about the bombshell testimony at the Rittenhouse trial from Gaige Grosskreutz — the third man shot by Kyle Rittenhouse. He admitted Rittenhouse didn’t fire until he advanced on him and pointed his gun at him. In other words, a perfect example of self-defense in that interaction. Here’s the take showing the position at the time Rittenhouse fired with the Grosskreutz’s gun pointed right at him. It was a perfect television moment, the kind you usually only see on law and order shows, not so much at real trials.
Many may have wondered about the comment about a “directed verdict” mentioned in that first video.

A week after abruptly canceling plans to attend the United Nations climate summit in Scotland, California Gov. Gavin Newsom has receded from public view to deal with unspecific family obligations.
When the surprising announcement was made on Oct. 29, a spokesperson said Newsom planned to participate virtually in the conference this week. But the California delegation’s schedule at the meeting this week, released by the governor’s office, did not include Newsom.

People are beginning to realize that something is wrong with America's ruling class, and by "people," I don't mean people like you, who are actively engaged in politics. I'm talking about people who want nothing to do with politics or people living in prosperous leftist enclaves (snip) Tucker Carlson's also been thinking about the zeitgeist, and he's concluded that what's driving Joe Biden isn't dementia but is, instead, fear — raw, palpable fear. Biden is aware that he's failing, but rather than step away from the White House, he meekly does whatever his handlers tell him to do. That's where security lies.

As our Jennifer O’Connell reported earlier today, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-French Laundry) hasn’t been seen in public since October 27, the day he received his COVID-19 vaccine booster. Newsom was scheduled to fly to Glasgow to attend the COP26 climate change conference two days later, but his trip was abruptly canceled. Initially some speculated that perhaps he realized how silly it was to fly across the globe to speak at a climate change conference when he could simply participate virtually.(Snip) Newsom planned to fly to Glasgow to advocate for ending the use of fossil fuels, but ended up enjoying every luxury possible – thanks to Big Oil money.

Historians of the future, savoring ‘possum goulash around their campfires, will marvel that modern medicine squandered its authority, its credibility, and its sacred honor in the Covid Panic of the 2020s, when public health officials and doctors in clinical practice colluded to force mass vaccinations while suppressing news of the harms and injuries the vaccines caused — potentially sacrificing millions of citizens like so many experimental fruit flies.

This year has seen the largest increase ever in the number of concealed handgun permit holders—more than two million, for a total of 21.52 million. That is a 48 percent increase since 2016. On Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard the case of NYSRPA v. Bruen, which has a chance to further increase this total and make permitting rules more similar across states.
Six states now have more than 1 million permit holders: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Florida is the first state to have more than 2.5 million permits.

White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed the administration is considering shutting down a Michigan oil pipeline, as President Biden finds himself caught between an environmental promise and looming gas price hikes. The administration is exploring the possibility of terminating the Line 5 pipeline - which links Superior, Wisconsin, with Sarnia, Ontario - and gathering data to determine if shutting down the line will cause a surge in fuel pricing.'Yes, we are,' Jean-Pierre said, asked in a news briefing if the administration is 'studying' the impacts of a potential shutdown. Each day the media are filled with “news” stories blaming various events and conditions on “climate change,” which are of course code words for “humans are overheating their planet.” Never do these reports offer evidence that mankind’s carbon dioxide emissions are to blame. That the press feels there’s no reason to back its claims with facts indicates that a large segment of the West has bought fully and uncritically into the narrative.
Some days it seems as if it’s useless to continue to fight the fight against global warming. Politicians, “journalists,” activists, activist scientists, celebrities, and a substantial portion of the public tell us that human activity

When U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm was asked a direct question about skyrocketing gas prices, her response was as telling as it was disappointing. Instead of offering middle-class Americans an explanation or an apology or a sliver of hope, she let out a hearty laugh.
“Oh my…that is hilarious! As you know, oil is a global market. It is controlled by a cartel, that cartel is called OPEC, and they made a decision yesterday that they were not going to increase [production] beyond what they were already planning.”

Once upon a time President Joe Biden was against vaccine mandates. (snip) Yet here we are, with Big Brother issuing this new edict (snip) Their rationale is to protect workers from themselves, “Unvaccinated workers are much more likely to contract and transmit COVID-19 in the workplace than vaccinated workers.” Maybe, or maybe not.

This leads to several questions, which the corporate media seems uninterested in exploring or asking.

Jake from State Farm won’t have to worry about doing any commercials with anyone else because Aaron Rodgers isn’t going anywhere.
In response to the sport’s media’s quest to get Aaron Rodgers canceled from his many lucrative sponsorship deals after seeking Covid treatment advice from the left’s chief Covid nemesis Joe Rogan, State Farm Insurance has decided to stand by their man.
In a statement to USA Today, a State Farm spokesman made it clear that the company encourages vaccinations and backs the right to make a “personal” choice.
“We encourage vaccinations, but respect everyone’s right to make a choice based on their personal circumstances,” State Farm told USA Today.
