Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration is reportedly gathering data on an oil pipeline in Michigan to determine if shutting it down would further increase fuel prices in the region. “Revoking the permits for the [Line 5] pipeline that delivers oil from western Canada across Wisconsin, the Great Lakes and Michigan and into Ontario, would please environmentalists who have urged the White House to block fossil fuel infrastructure, but it would aggravate a rift with Canada and could exacerbate a spike in energy prices that Republicans are already using as a political weapon,” Politico Pro reported.

What the he**? In the mad scramble to re-re-rewrite the huge “Build Back Better” social-spending bill and rush it to a vote, Speaker Nancy Pelosi inserted a huge tax cut for the rich. That’s right: The plan now is to raise the cap on state and local tax deductions for federal income taxes, otherwise known as SALT. The 2017 Trump reforms capped it at $10,000; Pelosi would raise that to $72,500 in 2021, then gradually to $80,000 over the next decade.Per the Tax Foundation, this means a tax cut for more than 70 percent of US households making over $200,000, with those earning over $500,000 reaping the most benefits.

Writing for Bloomberg, Eli Lake sees a shift in perspective about the FBI’s role in the Russiagate hoax: It’s been clear for nearly two years that Steele’s dossier was garbage. This is mainly thanks to the work of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who released a report in 2019 skewering the FBI for its use of the dossier in its warrant applications, concluding that the bureau could not confirm any of its original reporting. The main takeaway from the Horowitz investigation was that the FBI cut corners and gamed the surveillance court.

House lawmakers voted 221-213 to pass the procedural "rule" for President Biden’s expansive $1.75 trillion social spending bill late Friday night, setting up a vote on the massive measure that could result in House passage of some $3 trillion in new spending during November alone. Earlier in the evening, House lawmakers voted to pass President Biden’s $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure package. The vote to adopt the rule for the social spending bill, which will run under "reconciliation" rules that require a simple majority to pass the Senate, clears the way for Democratic leaders to bring the legislation to the House floor in the near future.

At least eight people died and scores more were injured when chaos, including a crowd crush, broke out during opening night of rapper Travis Scott’s Astroworld music festival in Texas Friday, authorities said. A mass of concertgoers at Houston’s NRG Park “began to compress” to the front of the stage at around 9:15 p.m., causing mayhem and some people to get hurt, Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña told reporters early Saturday. “People started to fall out, become unconscious and it created additional panic,” Peña said during a press conference. At around 9:38 p.m. Peña said a “mass casualty incident” was triggered as the number of victims

Though it acts as a court, it has no official status. The governments asked to participate have either snubbed or (in the case of China) condemned it. Some witnesses, under threat of sanctions from Beijing, started dropping out before its proceedings had even begun. And yet, the Uyghur Tribunal, whose final hearings took place in London in September, is an institution nobody can afford to ignore. It offers the best hope yet of answering a pressing question: is China committing genocide against the Uyghurs, the 12 million Turkic Muslims in the northwestern region of Xinjiang? Former Trump administration officials say President Joe Biden is taking too soft an approach on the security threat from China in hopes of cooperating with Beijing on climate change. Despite Chinese President Xi Jinping not being at the recent COP26 climate summit, Biden avoided a confrontational response when asked by a reporter about China’s military advancements and if he was concerned that the potential for war has grown during his time as president.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said Friday he sought alternative treatments instead of the NFL-endorsed COVID-19 vaccinations because he is allergic to an ingredient in two of the FDA-approved shots. Speaking on SiriusXM’s “Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers said: “I’m not an anti-vax, flat-earther. I have an allergy to an ingredient that’s in the mRNA vaccines. I found a long-term immunization protocol to protect myself and I’m very proud of the research that went into that.” Rodgers, who turns 38 on Dec. 2, did not say what ingredient he was allergic to, or how he knows he is allergic.

Richmond, Va. — Democratic leaders in Virginia conceded Friday that Republicans have won control of the House of Delegates. The Associated Press has not called all of Virginia’s House races yet. But the concession means Republicans would complete an elections sweep in which they also reclaimed the offices of governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general. House Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn issued a statement acknowledging the GOP majority shortly after Democratic Del. Martha Mugler conceded defeat in a tight race against Republican challenger A.C. Cordoza in the 91st House district, located in Virginia’s Hampton Roads region. With Mugler’s concession,
