President Joe Biden congratulated Big Bird for receiving his COVID-19 vaccine after conservatives including Republican Sen. Ted Cruz called a tweet from the Sesame Street character 'propaganda ... for your five-year-old.' 'Good on ya, @BigBird,' Biden tweeted Sunday night. 'Getting vaccinated is the best way to keep your whole neighborhood safe.' The fictional bird, who, according to Sesame Street lore, is eternally 6-years-old, tweeted his vaccination status on Saturday, writing: 'I got the COVID-19 vaccine today! My wing is feeling a little sore, but it'll give my body an extra protective boost that keeps me and others healthy.'(Snip)Big Bird issued the tweet days

NHS England's chief executive was today accused of 'abusing' Covid statistics after exaggerating the number of infected patients in hospital with the virus. During a round of interviews this morning, Amanda Pritchard suggested there were '14 times' more coronavirus patients in hospital now compared to 'this time last year'.
The claim was picked up and circulated by a number of mainstream, left-leaning news outlets including Sky News, ITV and The i.
Ms Pritchard made the comments as she urged people to come forward for their booster vaccines and warned the health service was under 'very real pressure'.(Snip)Professor Francois Balloux, director of the University College London Genetics Institute,

Sen. Ted Cruz went to war with Big Bird on Twitter over the weekend, accusing the “Sesame Street” character of pushing “government propaganda” as part of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout for kids.
Mr. Cruz’s main target was the Biden administration as it teamed up with “Sesame Street” to promote the Pfizer-BioNTech shots for 5- to 11-year-olds. Big Bird, who is supposed to be 6 years old, tweeted that his wing was a bit sore after the shot, but he was grateful for the protective boost. “Government propaganda … for your 5 year old!” Mr. Cruz tweeted. The dustup kicked off the usual cycle of online debate

Los Angeles will expand their vaccine mandate requiring people show proof of vaccination to enter various types of businesses and venues later this month, enforcing one of the strictest mandates in the country. In October, the City of Los Angeles began to require patrons to be fully vaccinated to enter the indoor portions of food establishments, gyms, entertainment and recreational locations, personal care establishments, and certain outdoor events. Beginning Monday the city will launch SafePassLA, expanding the vaccine mandate to more businesses and indoor locations including museums and convention centers. SafePassLA will be enforced on November 29 to give required locations time to adjust.

Albany, N.Y.—As New York’s recreational marijuana laws continue to take shape, employers must get used to stowing their assumptions on when and if their employees choose to smoke. “For instance, marijuana the smell does linger, but that’s not probable cause anymore,” explains Christine Taylor, a partner at Towne Law Firm. “It was the knee-jerk reaction to be like, you obviously are using, I don’t want to employ you anymore, and that can absolutely kind of get you in trouble now.”(Snip)The latest update by the NYS Department of Labor outright prohibits employers from marijuana testing either when hiring or on suspicion an employee is impaired.

US Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy said Sunday that “nothing is off the table” when asked whether the Biden administration would try to expand its federal work-vaccine mandate to smaller firms. Speaking on ABC’s “This Week,” Murthy said the government’s mandate for companies with more than 100 staffers is “appropriate and necessary”—and suggested it might be widened, assuming it survives multiple court challenges. “Certainly nothing is off the table at this moment,” Murthy said.(Snip)Murthy was asked whether he thought the mandate could negatively impact businesses that are already struggling to find employees amid a national labor shortage. “I hear time and time again, from small businesses,

A governor of President Joe Biden's own party is standing up to his sweeping vaccine mandate, claiming it's 'too late' in the pandemic for broad federal action even as the pandemic's effects continue to roil the US economy. Kansas Democrat Governor Laura Kelly, who is up for re-election in 2022, released a statement on Saturday announcing that her state is rejecting Biden's vaccine order for private businesses that employ more than 100 people.(Snip)Kelly said states at this point in the pandemic have 'already developed systems' to fight coronavirus' effects on health and the economy, largely without the federal government's help. President Joe Biden let out a long, loud **** while speaking with the Duchess of Cornwall at the COP26 summit. Camilla Parker Bowles “hasn’t stopped talking about” the 78-year-old’s “long ****,” it has been reported. The pair were making small talk at the global climate change gathering in Scotland last week when the president broke wind, according to an informed source that spoke to The Mail on Sunday. “It was long and loud and impossible to ignore,” the source told the outlet. “Camilla hasn’t stopped talking about it.”(Snip) Parker Bowles, who has been married to Prince Charles since 2005, was taken aback by the flatulence. Russian social media disinformation campaigns and the increasingly hostile political battles they’ve fueled across America represent a “true constitutional threat” to the nation, contributing to COVID-19 vaccine skepticism and other serious issues in the military and beyond, a top Air Force general told The Washington Times this week.
In an exclusive interview, Lt. Gen. S. Clinton Hinote, the Air Force‘s deputy chief of staff for strategy, integration and requirements, warned that the internal divisions on display in America could fundamentally weaken the country and chip away at American moral leadership around the world. He spoke as the Pentagon was trying to formulate guidelines to define and weed out

The Empire State is set to reap upwards of $170 billion after the House of Representatives passed a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill late Friday night. The Senate passed the bipartisan bill back in August, but the legislation had been stalled for months in the lower chamber as progressive and moderate Democrats haggled over the details.(Snip)The cash will also mean faster ferries, completing a high-occupancy vehicles (HOV) lane on the Staten Island Expressway, and upgrading the city sewer system to better handle flooding and more. Like its Senate counterpart, the bill was bipartisan, with 13 Republicans—including New York Reps. John Katko, Tom Reed, Nicole Malliotakis

Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe had his New York home raided by FBI agents Saturday, just a day after reporters for the conservative activist group were also searched over the stolen diaries of President Joe Biden's daughter Ashley. Authorities raided O'Keefe's Westchester County residence on Fenimore Road in Mamaroneck just a day after O'Keefe himself acknowledged Project Veritas was under investigation. Project Veritas did not publish the diary, as O'Keefe said in a video released Friday that the group could not confirm the authenticity of the diary, its belonging to Ashley Biden or that the contents of the diary were truthful.(Snip)
