Laura Brand was ready to meet one of America’s most sadistic serial killers at San Quentin State Prison. It was 2015 and by then, the criminologist had been corresponding with Lawrence Bittaker, one-half of the "Toolbox Killers" duo, since the previous year in 2014. Her interviews with Bittaker are now the subject of a true-crime documentary currently available for streaming on Peacock titled "The Toolbox Killer." The special features personal accounts from survivors and family members, as well as Tracee Witney, Bittaker’s next-door neighbor. I suspect they enjoy torturing the families along with their victims. This way they can still commit their 'crime' even though they are behind bars. I know the law doesn't recognize the suffering really of the families who endure this horror, but if you ever watch shows that talk about these crimes, those families are in a prison of their own, but the murderer has the hope of release someday. The families do not. There really should be some kind of recognition of that on the part of the Law.

Laura Brand could not care less about ‘closure for the family’. She found a grizzly, salacious murder story that she thought would sell to the public and make her some money. Unfortunately the only taker was Peacock, NBC’s new streaming service that has about 5 subscribers. No one will be seeing it.

As we reported earlier, there was a horrible attack Sunday night in Waukesha, Wisconsin, in which a man driving a red SUV mowed down more than 20 people who were participating in the town’s Christmas parade. There were multiple fatalities but officials announced at a press conference that they won’t be releasing more specifics about even the number of deaths until the families have been notified. Multiple reports, relying on scanner traffic on Broadcastify, claimed that a Waukesha police officer reported that the driver of the SUV was a black male. “There’s a car going westbound approaching the parade course. A red Escape. Black male. I couldn’t stop him.

Welcome to Bizarro World, otherwise known as NBC “Think”. In an essay NBC published last night from Christina Wyman, parents want to have children “indoctrinated” while schools want to free their minds. Wyman decries parental resistance to progressive pedagogy, arguing that parental involvement in education is as dangerous as it would be to have parents in the operating room. No, I am not kidding: While the political climate and national involvement in school districts give the phenomenon a broader platform

Vice President Kamala Harris, who has a habit of laughing when confronted by reporters, chuckled on Thursday when asked if she is being properly used by the Biden administration. ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos asked Harris, the subject of a recent scathing CNN report that outlined frustration and dysfunction in her office, if she feels "misused or underused" by the Biden administration. "No, I don’t," Harris responded as she laughed.

The judge at Kyle Rittenhouse’s murder trial has dismissed a count of possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18. The charge is only a misdemeanor, but it had appeared to be among the likeliest to net a conviction for prosecutors. There’s no dispute that Rittenhouse was 17 when he carried an AR-style semi-automatic rifle on the streets of Kenosha in August 2020 and used it to kill two men and wound a third. But the defense argued that Wisconsin’s statute had an exception that could be read to clear Rittenhouse. That exception involves whether or not a rifle or shotgun is short-barreled.  CORRECTIONS*

New York City police are searching for a suspect involved in a rape that occurred near Central Park on Thursday morning. Police responded to a reported assault at around 7:20 a.m. The victim, a 27-year-old woman, was sexually assaulted while she walked near the Swan Lake and Wollman Rink, NYPD Inspector Michael King told reporters Thursday. A suspect grabbed the victim from behind and choked her, briefly knocking her unconscious. She awoke with cuts and bruises to her arms and chin. She received assistance from a "bystander" in the park, who helped her call the police, and she went to Mount Sinai West hospital for treatment, ABC 7 reported.

Bill Maher is not a conservative. He’s just finding himself at odds with the left-wing lurch that moved at light speed in progressive circles. Maher has always been against political correctness and the Left’s coddling of Islamic extremists. He’s for free speech and is not on the ‘woke’ train, which he sees as illogical and outright unhinged. You cannot be more offended than the victim. Also, you don’t have to be offended all the time and when someone isn’t—that doesn’t mean they’re racist. It’s crazy town. It kills everything it touches and blessedly no normal human thinks like this.

I’ve been telling everyone I know that Joe Biden is the dumbest chief executive to ever occupy the office. I thought that was obvious, but I’ve gotten an amazing amount of pushback from other writers, friends, and even complete strangers. It seems that there’s a widely held opinion by many, that everything Joe has done to America has been by design. Joe’s performance has been quite competent if you look at it from his perspective. He’s a mastermind transforming America into the left’s vision of a socialist utopia.

The gas price crisis in the United States continues to spiral out of control. Those in the South have seen their gas prices double to over $3.00 a gallon over the last several months, but they have it easy compared to places like California, where one station was recently charging over $7.00 a gallon. That’s enough to make Europe blush.Of course, every bit of this was self-inflicted on the nation, not by consumers, but by the Biden administration pandering to far-left delusions about climate change completely destroying the planet. So what’s the solution? Is it to drill more domestically? To greenlight Keystone XL and other pipelines?

The relationship between Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and their respective staffs has been on rocky ground for months. As RedState previously reported, the vice president and her camp have complained about being abandoned, even blaming racism as a possible factor, while the White House has fretted at Harris’ sheer incompetence and inability to garner support on her own. Those tensions have led to lots of speculation about what exactly happens in 2024.
