The U.S. Senate plans to take a vote on the infrastructure bill on Saturday, according to the best available reports for you late-to-the-party fact-checkers. The bill as it’s currently written is fiscally disastrous, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), and removes what’s left of any vestige of privacy in your own private vehicle. If the 2021 infrastructure bill passes, which it may due to the help of Republican senators who apparently couldn’t care less about our privacy, it will likely become a rhetorical trope the likes of which hasn’t been seen since the passage of the “Uniting and Strengthening America by

Because the GOP is useless. I got a call from the RNC yesterday. It was an actual person on the line and, after she greeted me by name and introduced herself, I hung up on her. I haven’t given a penny to the RNC in decades but they still waste a lot of money sending me appeals in the mail. Those go right into the shredder. I donated to individual candidates last year but even that was a waste - Lindsey Graham and Nancy Mace - both HUGE disappointments. I’m keeping my cash - with Joe Booger’s inflation, I’ll be needing it for myself and my family.

That's what happens when you are a member of the "Most Exclusive Club in the World." George Wallace said, "There's not a dimes worth of difference" in the two parties. Boy, if he could only see our "Public Servants" now. A new party would destroy the Republicans, guarantee a Dem. takeover...and defeat our purpose. We need a miracle, and they only come from God.

New York City became the first major metro to require proof of vaccination to access restaurants, gyms, and other venues last week. Mayor Bill de Blasio proudly announced the “Key to New York City” pass, a vaccine passport, effective August 16. As Karol Markowicz pointed out, the vaccine passport erased children under 12 from public life because they cannot be vaccinated. The mayor’s office updated the policy to exempt them from the vaccine requirement and mandate masks for children instead. Public policy is often full of unintended consequences. And while de Blasio and others like him are just sure they are sticking it to white Trump supporters

Based on new photos released today, conditions are outright inhumane at the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) facility in Donna, Texas. Despite the fact that the government has expanded facilities and sped up the processing of illegal aliens the system, the massive influx is still outpacing the ability to keep up, and the facility is attempting to deal with even more people than when the news shocked Americans in March. In March, there were 4000 people packed into the holding pods/cages. Now, according to Fox, there are 5300 illegal aliens in custody at the facility, with between 40-60 people per pod. That was fast. On Monday, Politico declared that "the White House continues to keep the southern border largely closed during the pandemic." Yet by Thursday, Politico warned, "Biden’s vision for the border has gone bust. But what’s Plan B?" So why the dramatic change? Could the answer be Governor Ron DeSantis who on Wednesday gave a scorching reply to Joe Biden who criticized the Florida governor for his approach to the COVID-19 pandemic? DeSantis was particularly critical of Biden's failed border policy: "Why don't you do your job, why don't you get this border secure? Until you do that, I don't want to hear a blip about COVID from you."

This is the aspect of his moratorium chicanery that I find most breathtaking, the frank admission that he’s trying to exploit the legal process to extend a dubious executive order. Most everyone else has focused on the substance of what the White House did, replacing a certainly illegal moratorium order with a new one which they have every reason to know is almost certainly illegal. And that’s appalling. But the problem could be solved if the courts reacted quickly by scheduling an expedited hearing on the numerous challenges to the new order. When the president is as candid as Biden is here in admitting that he’s gaming

Depends on where you look, but the hotter spots for COVID-19 transmission might have already peaked. Former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb predicted two weeks ago that the US could be further into the Delta wave than we know, thanks mainly to a lack of regular sample testing that has plagued the US response from the start. That’s important context for the charts Gottlieb highlighted yesterday evening, based on data sourced from Johns Hopkins and the CDC. Have we at least plateaued in transmissibility? Gottlieb’s choice of graphs aren’t entirely representative, although it’s not deceptively positive either. When looking at the entire range

Dr. Rochelle Walensky has been making the media rounds. At most, they simply reduce the severity of the symptoms people experience if they do catch COVID. The University of Wisconsin removed a controversial boulder from its Madison campus Friday after the Black Student Union and other activists objected to its description nearly 100 years ago with a racial slur. Chamberlin Rock, which rests atop Observatory Hill, is named after a 19th Century geologist and former university president, Thomas Crowder Chamberlin, whose work centered on glacial deposits, according to a bio on the university’s website. But it was a reporter’s reference to the rock in a nearly century-old Wisconsin State Journal article that prompted the push for its removal. In October 1925, the university had the boulder excavated and placed prominently atop the hill to honor Chamberlin,
