The University of Wisconsin removed a controversial boulder from its Madison campus Friday after the Black Student Union and other activists objected to its description nearly 100 years ago with a racial slur. Chamberlin Rock, which rests atop Observatory Hill, is named after a 19th Century geologist and former university president, Thomas Crowder Chamberlin, whose work centered on glacial deposits, according to a bio on the university’s website. But it was a reporter’s reference to the rock in a nearly century-old Wisconsin State Journal article that prompted the push for its removal. In October 1925, the university had the boulder excavated and placed prominently atop the hill to honor Chamberlin,

I've lived in Madison my entire adult life and earned two degrees at UW-Madison. I never once heard the offensive term used to describe this 42 ton glacial erratic, which had been sitting here minding its own business for 12,000 years. Almost a century ago the State Journal, our local rag, printed this offensive term. This offensive term has not been used in any other publication. A sane "woke" person (an oxymoron, I know) would demand that the State Journal be canceled for their offense. An insane "woke" person would demand the the innocent and inoffensive, geologically significant erratic boulder be canceled. And so the boulder was thrown off campus while the activists practically broke their arms patting themselves on the back.

Dr. Anthony Fauci has doubled down on his support for local vaccine mandates to compel the vax-skeptical to take the jab against their wishes. As the national debate over mandatory vaccines continues to rage, Democrats are doing their best to force or coerce people into being vaccinated — instead of letting it be a personal choice. During an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Fauci discussed the ongoing issues with the COVID-19 pandemic, with the conversation focusing largely on the Delta variant. Media activist Chuck Todd opened by asking Fauci about the confusion in the information coming from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as to whether
