COVID infections among Florida children
'overwhelm' state's hospitals
as Governor DeSantis faces his
first legal challenge over barring
schools from mandating masks

Ron DeSantis is facing two legal challenges over his executive order preventing schools from imposing mask mandates on students as pediatric hospitals become 'overwhelmed' due to COVID cases in children. 'The numbers of cases in our hospitals in children and our children's hospitals are completely overwhelmed,' Dr. Aileen Marty, an infectious disease expert at Florida International University, told CNN on Friday. (Snip)DeSantis signed an order last month directing the Florida Departments of Health and Education to impose rules preventing implementation of mask mandates in schools. The Republican governor said he wants to 'protect parents' freedom to choose whether their children wear masks.'

Comments:

The Right to Choose is sacred when murdering babies, but does not apply to parents who want their children to breathe freely instead of being deprived of oxygen from masks that do not work. As propaganda, we fret about back-alley abortions with rusty coat hangers and hospital pediatric departments overwhelmed with children sick from a disease that they were immune to, until a couple of weeks ago when it became clear that the vaccine does not work as advertised.

I don't believe it. There may be a couple of hospitals that are busier than normal, but to suggest that there are a large number of hospitals overwhelmed with Covid kids is BS. This is the media's attempt to help Biteme and the Marxists in their attempt to take down DeSantis.

Consider the source!!! The "Daily Mail" is a British rag sheet about 40 steps below "The National Enquirer" for journalistic integrity. At least "The National Enquirer" gets a story right once in a while. The "Daily Mail" just prints lies and unsubstantiated rumors on a daily basis, and are always wrong.

We have heard from numerous sources that the reports of “overwhelmed” hospitals are exaggerations. This has become so political. No concern about the tens of thousands of illegals from all over the world who are swarming across our southern border and being released all over our country. Biden & Co can’t decide whether they should be required to be vaccinated. DeSantis is a political target. Fortunately he is strong. Otherwise it would be even worse in Florida. The Dems would be holding forth with mandatory everything...

Until the WH addresses the issue of the border, particularly the covid infected illegal aliens, shut your pie hole. They say don't make any of this political and that is all they do. Scare headlines (come on panic more people!!) but then a few paragraphs down comes this. FTA: While some doctors are claiming the hospital systems are becoming inundated with children cases of COVID-19, the Department of Health and Human Services shows data to the contrary. A hospital capacity data set shows only 46 pediatric patients were admitted to Florida hospitals with confirmed COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, bringing the total in the state to 135. Florida has the second highest number of children in the hospital with COVID, falling behind Texas, which recorded a total of 142 as of Tuesday. Children dying from COVID-19 is still extremely rare – even with the Delta variant surge. ---- So we are to believe that 135 pediatric beds statewide (not Ped ICU mind you, just ped beds) is "overwhelming" the state.

Lets just say exactly what the whole MASK debate is about. It all boils down to the TEACHERS. Many of them have refused to be vaccinated and the Union is backing them. So Teachers don't want to come back to the classroom because of COVID. Due to Public Opinion being against them not teaching AGAIN this year, they are forced to go back, but they want the KIDS to wear a Mask so that they can't pass any COVID to the Unvaccinated Teachers. Jeesh! Let the Kids be Kids and the TEACHERS be Grownups. Nobody is making them teach. Take a year off and stay in your house if you're scared of COVID. Everyone should be allowed to decide which way to go. That said, then don't expect anyone else to do something you want them to do, they get to decide just as you do! Most of us have decided NOT to Mask! Hubby and I went to Panera for Lunch today. They had a sign on the door "suggesting" Masks. Not one person had a Mask on, and the place was very busy! I just don't think the "Pandemic" is going to fly this time around no matter how many times Biden yells " The Sky is Falling"!

I want to see actual numbers and specific details for the hospitalizations. I don't believe anything that comes from the White House or CDC. A high percentage of elderly people who they said died of Covid were people who had an existing health condition and Covid accelerated the illness. Very much like Pneumonia will do with the elderly. Seniors are susceptible to respiratory illnesses. Children are not. How many times when school started all the kids came down with a cold at the same time. They would catch it on the school bus, or in the classroom. Covid 19 is a corona virus and that is closely related to the common cold virus. My guess is the Covid testing may give a false positive for the common cold. But how many children had a lab test when they would get the common cold. It sounds like a lot of people in Washington have Covid hysteria.

Just talked to my brother in Florida. My two nieces work for a medical insurance company and one is a registered nurse so they would know. The deal in florida is that nursing staffs are down 30-40% for the obvious reasons and this is the time of year when a bug that is similar to flu or, now, covid. There is a not unexpected strain on the hospitals. Florida is also the most transparent state when it comes to data. Meaning, places like NY that are actually worse, dodge coverage. Bottom line, he's not noticing any problems. Nothing to write home about.
